I bought this shoe based on your review and a number of others out there and went up a half size from my usual US9.5 to 10 and it was a perfect fit. I was skeptical due to the extreme geometry of the shoe but I concur with your thoughts entirely. Your run down is pretty much how I feel about the shoe. I used it for a half marathon and achieved a PB in it so I was stoked. I'm 54 and finished in 1:32:04, my previous best was 1:33:47 in 2021 using the Asics Metaspeed Sky. I really love this shoe and my legs felt good post run too. I was worried about the low drop as I generally like a larger drop but it was not an issue and the bounce/feedback from the ground reminds me of the Adidas Prime X! It's an amazing shoe and one that has largely fallen under the radar. I was lucky enough to get a 2nd pair for around $200 during the EOFY sales because I love the shoe so much. Thanks for your review. I really enjoy your channel! 👍
Excellent review, I am a slow runner and a heel striker.. I LOVE the Vaporfly but I can't run in the Alphafly V1 because I don't land on the pods in a natural way and the drop in V1 is to low for me... I added an insert under the heel... Will try the Mizuno Pro when they come on sale 😁
The stickiness of that outsole compound needs to be tried to believe it , it can catch me off guard and on an decline where the heel manages to get clipped it feels like mini suction pads . As you said will give puma grip a run for its money
Excellent review of a fascinating shoe. I like a big drop 8-10mm but the Mizuno is only 4.5 - I didn't like the Alphafly v1 due to its low drop.. which didn't feel like any .. so does the Mizuno feel like a low drop?? 🤔
The rocker is so aggressive it doesn't feel like a low drop to me. The geometry makes it almost impossible to tell what drop it actually is from the midfoot. Thanks for the comment!
Did a half marathon in 1:28 with an average pace off 4'12/KM found the shoe extremely comfortable but you have to keep that pace otherwise it just doesnt work
😂😂 Will be interested to know how you get on. What Marathon are you running in it? Think that I will opt for the Endorphin Elite if the weather stays dry (still to be tested on a run longer than a Half race but I feel like it's an easier shoe to dial back the pace a little in than the Mizuno which feels a little more aggressive and like it may ask more of my legs). The Mizuno shifts the load away from my usual weaker areas but loads the hips, glutes, quads and possibly shins more. I have ran 18+ miles with a quick finish that averaged a goal MP that I would be more than happy with. Don't feel confident in whether I could run for another 45 mins to 60 mins at that pace in them though. The outsole grip on the Wave Rebellion Pro is amazing though, so if it's wet I could still gamble on them. Have the Metaspeed Sky+ as my 3rd option.
