I used to live in California as a child. My father told my mother that he was moving and taking the kids with. I’m glad she chose to come with us. My old man had had enough of the stupidity of that state. We ended up out east where we discovered that I was almost two years behind my peers in school. Guess that shouldn’t have been a surprise. If you don’t like the nonsense of the state you live in stop paying taxes there and start paying taxes in a state that respects your right. Today I live somewhere that respects my rights, so I can purchase any firearm I choose. Thanks dad.

I am not an AR guy even though I have one. I prefer the Mini 14 out to 350 yards. I also agree with the scope being a low power or low power variable. Until the boat accident, I had at least one of everything you mentioned. Great presentation and you have been way ahead of the curve with your predictions. Keep up the good work!

I lived in CA for the first 50 years of my life. Hunting Beach to be exact which is why I managed to survive there that long. When I turned 21 I went to the gun store and bought a S&W 686, a Remington 870 marine magnum and I’d planned on an FN FAL but they were no more thanks to Clinton. What they did have was a Springfield Arms Loaded M1A Which I still have. Looks a bit different now. In all the years of all the bans it was never mentioned and sold and is still sold. God will provide. I have the 686 too, the 870 I sold due to health but now I’m in TX with 4 tax stamps. God bless Texas!

I live in California and even though I have AR style rifles , they come with limitations so a very good option is the Ruger ranch mini 14 , in my opinion they are awesome rifles and the only limitation is that you can’t have a magazine that holds more than 10 rounds , they are reliable , you don’t have to clean them as often and specially living in California you have to consider the intimidating factor , people act like you are carrying an h bomb when they see an AR rifle, lever action rifles are awesome as well in my opinion Marlin ( own by Ruger) and Henry rifles are among the best , I have several and I’ve never had any big problems with them pretty much maintenance is all they need.

The SKS may be another option for people who live in areas where semi-auto rifles with detachable mags have been vilified. Though sadly these rifles are considerably more expensive than they once were.

I'm often asked why I don't own an AR/ AK, etc. My answer is, why attract attention by having something the left is absolutely rabid about? What I do have is more than adequate in a " God forbid" scenario. Besides, properly applied, I can use what I have to get something... different. Should the need arise...

You are 100% correct about the wind factor. Any wind that would blow that heavy flag out straight would absolutely push that light projectile off target enough to cause that miss. Someone else on YT mentioned just two days ago that a small company has built a BOLT ACTION carrier group for the AR. Meaning, you could buy an upper and lower and the bolt action carrier, and assemble it as a bolt action rifle. If you should happen to find the normal carrier group somewhere and save it for a rainy day...

The Garand is insanely expensive and and lever guns are better way to go. 10 mm is being staged out. Pistol cartridges are loaded with a fast burn to be spent in a short barrel and not appropriate for a long barrell and the Marlin or Henry are best Problem is Winchester 30 30 170 grain corelok has been hard to find the last couple years. Used to be the most common deer rifle. No need for scope on my 336 micro hooded front sight.Dandahermit

I live in Texas and I have AR style rifles, but I also have lever action rifles. I wouldn't be a bit worried if all I had was my 30-30 rifles. A 30-30 will do amazing things at 150 yards or less on soft targets.

I couldn't be more proud because my wife TOLD me this morning that she is going with me to the range next time I go. I have the best wife in the world. I immediately put the weapon in her hands and walked her through how a 308 AR works and how to handle it without ammo. The smile on her face was amazing. I appreciate your discussion today. I deal with several people on a daily basis that I swear there is something really malfunctioning between their ears. The average person needs to understand the nuts are out there and they are attempting to force their opinions on everyone else. They will tell you if you listen. Never turn your back on them and never trust them. While semiautomatics may not be available, you can always get bolt actions, and we fought several wars with them.

Another great video from Mr. Fairburn. A couple more suggestions for arming yourself in one of the “jurisdictions” outside of America would be one of the Ruger Mini’s (30 or 14) and the SKS. For most people a good pistol caliber lever action in 357, 44 mag or 45 colt is perfect. Add a red dot if necessary. Pair it with a matching single or double action revolver and learn to use them well. Fight lite and Henry have 223 lever actions that accepts AR mags. Ruger and others make handy bolt actions that take AR mags if you like those better.

Thank you for your great analysis. You left out the Ruger Mini-14 and Mini-30. I get about 3-4 min of angle at 100 with my Mini-30.

I'm retired law enforcement in California. You can stilll own the mini-14 (although for non law enforcement only 10 round mag, unless they purchased them during "freedom week" and there is really no way for law enforcement to know the difference, unless the person tells them differently). You can own a AR platform rifle but it can't have a pistol grip, telescoping stock, flash suppressor or a bayonet lug. I know that sounds silly and stupid but it is what it is. So there are after market parts to make them California legal. And same for magazines as I described for the Mini-14. Now there are also a number of various alternative devices to alter an AR rifle to be able to load it by pulling a ring to disengage the upper from the lower platform to switch out magazines, thus working around the language of the legal statute. However, those devices and defense haven't yet been tested in court. For what that is worth. I wish with all these liberal Marxist appeals courts thumbing their nose at Bruen, that the Supreme Court will just settle this issue once and for all by reaffirming Heller, that arms in common use by law abiding citizens are covered under the right to possess by the 2nd Amendment.

brilliant video. such good advice. I hope people hear it. I stocked up on AR-15s right before 2020, so I'm good with those i think. however, do not underestimate a good lever action rifle.

In my state of Massachusetts our laws are very much like that of California where AR15s are very heavily modified to the point of being useless. Me personally I would go with the old reliable SKS over a M1 Garand or M1 Carbine. Sure SKS rifles aren't cheap anymore but you can still find them for less than $1,000 bucks which makes them cheaper then a typical Henry or Marlin lever action and you're getting a 7.62x39 intermediate rifle that's semiautomatic. That's a huge advantage over any bolt action or lever action rifle in my opinion. I also wouldn't feel uncomfortable with a 9mm Luger pistol caliber carbine. Sure it lacks power and range but having a pistol and a rifle chambered in the same caliber that's easily available and cheap to buy bulk ammunition for makes up the difference.

My friend and I were in the military, and law enforcement. We both are Ham's. This is something that you don't realize the value of until you get licensed, start figuring comms out and doing a lot of tests and experiments. Very useful if you need to do coordinated attacks.

I would worry more about fold up pccs. Myself. The atf is looking at sbrs and pistol braces again. And a fold up. Ruins the logic of a long gun. He SHOULDVE had a fold up as well. In the non gta fantasy he was living in and it worked.

Good advice, glad to hear you mentioning a difference of training and defensive load ammunition.

Just wanted to mention that I'm a lover of the levergun and recently, really came around to the idea of the 357 as a GREAT all-around gun. I own 45-70 and 30-30 lever action rifles, and while I love them, I don't find myself using them as much as the 357 I recently purchased. The 357 is a great option, especially in urban environments where overpenetration is a real concern. I can shoot 38 Special, which don't have much more recoil than a 22 and 357 is barely more than an AR-15. Ammo is cheaper and widely available, as well as a wider variety of factory loads at different power levels. With hot 357 out of a 17" barrel I can get over 2000fps, getting into 30-30 territory at pistol cartridge pressures. I can even use a suppressor intended for 9mm pistols, which I already owned. I wish I'd gotten a 357 levergun years ago.

Shooting at the range is very different than shooting in the field.

That's cause levers generally require a rimmed cartridge for reliability.

SKS and Mini-14. SKS first: Take it to a gunsmith and have them shorten the barrel to 16 inches and reinstall the hooded front sight and its post. B. Get some Q-tips and brightly colored acrylic paint. Paint the front sight hood its post side facing you. Several coats may be needed. When it fully dries, instant EO-Tech. Put that sight hood on a target under 600 feet you hit rapidly and accurately. C. Get stripper clips and soft point ammo. Soft point ammo will not over penetrate in a home defense event

If they ever lit the fire that starts a 2 way rifle range in this country. I think they highly under estimate how fast it will get out if control. Old men in the rear with the gear will be some but a lot of us old parts have nothing to lose. We lived our lives, we put up with their kid of crap our entire lives, and are more than willing to thin their numbers out before they take us out. The one lever gun U did not mention was the 4570, it is not the old slow round of yesterday, with today's new 4570 ammo it can get 395 grain & 400 grain with 2999 to 3000 fps . Which makes for a lot of mass & velocity that puts a 30-30 to shame in a 2 way rifle range 🤔

22:26 Another advantage of the .303 British rifles is you can get chamber inserts that allow the weapon to convert to .32 S&W, .32 S&W Long, and .32 ACP. If you use .32 S&W Long out of a long barrel like that, it will be fairly quiet, even moreso with the .32SW. I mean almost air-rifle quiet. And you're still getting like 200 ft-lbs from that. Oh and they should bring back the Savage 99! Did you know the rotary magazine in that rifle is the grandaddy of all those Ruger rotary magazines? One of Ruger's early projects was a semi-auto conversion of the Savage 99. That's what inspired his later designs.

I can't tell you how many thousands of rounds I put through that old beauty. The new barrel is going to take a little time and training to get back to the level of confidence I had with it. But it will come quickly.

One of the main reasons other than case capacity that magnum calibers perform better in longer barrel rifles over normal pistol calibers is that in their conventional firearm they are under reduced power from cylinder gap in revolvers, once they are loaded into anything that is not a revolver they gain that bit of performance back and then some

Really great video. Sorry that your state is behind enemy lines and is being held captive by that Prick...uh, I mean, Pritzger. Virginia had a governor just as bad in the one before the one we had now, we just got very fortunate to hold one of the houses so his damage was minimized. I do have a question though. The M1,,, and M2 ammo - It's hard to get the IMR powder, I forget the actual one, that was the "official" powder/load.. It's almost impossible to find now. And reloading data on other loads is kind of hit and miss. Do you reload for the Garand? Do you have any recipes you can share? I have a Garand that was my uncle's,.a 1943 Springfield, but I have avoided shooting it because finding components or M2 loads has been almost impossible or overly expensive. AWB states all have an option for an ar with a thordsen stock and a non-threaded barrel. By FAR the best semi-auto option. Respectful correction to your statement about the ARs with compliant modifications being not semi-autos as we know it: They definitely still are, just a little funny-looking. Throw a thordsen on there and keep the modularity and reliability of the AR, common ammo & parts, and everything in between. Cant go wrong ❤️

I use a Mossberg 500 and will probably get a Beretta 1301.Shotgun is the best option if you can't get semi auto rifles in your state.If I want a rifle for home defense my options are bolt action,lever action or Ruger 10/22 which is the only semi auto rifle you can buy in my restricted state.Yeah it sucks.

The important number in figuring distance from the time between bullet snap and muzzle report is the difference between the speed of sound and the bullet velocity. In the case in point this is approximately 2000 ft/sec. 2000 x 2.2= 440 ft. Spot on. Four shooters : Butler co. Swat, SS sniper, Crooks, unknown sniper. The man's analysis is sound.

I have a 303 Enfield and love it. When you send a round down range and then reload the chamber the bolt will spring open when you lift the bolt handle to open the breach ther for allowing you to reload faster than a standard bolt action.

Regardless of what any State, local or even the federal law makers pass as law, if it's unconstitutional it should NEVER be allowed to stand as law, just like every law and regulations that has been passed since our inception!

Ruger makes bolt action rifles that use ar style box magazines. You can get them in 223/5.56 caliber. And you can get 10 round magazines. They also make them in other calibers that are legal for deer hunting in IL. 350 and 400 legend. Believe it or not 300 blackout is actually a legal deer cartridge in IL.

Ruger Mini 14 and Mini 30 shooters all around the country and Canada are highly disappointed with your lecture. Likewise Ruger 1022 shooters are as well. I personally believe that larger bore long range rifles such a Sharps in 45-70 or 45-120 or more will be very useful. On a budget the H&R Buffalo Classic is great as well. Some of the fight might be tasks such as knocking down traffic lights or radio transmitter towers etc. The mayor's police chief might be surprised to see their Crown Vics engine block begin exploding when no one is within a 1/2 mile of them, but it could happen easily.

If you're okay with milsurp rifles, keep an eye out for Spanish Mausers, Indian Lee Enfields, and Israeli Mausers chambered in .308. They're very strong rifles in a common round that can still stand the test of time if your training is adequate. Also you'd be surprised about these rifles: India kept their Enfields for police use until recent years and some were even converted into musket shotguns.

First time viewer of your channel ,this is the first video of yours I've seen and I think you are spot on about everything, except maybe the notion that were not more than the one assassin. Lots of other problematic data , statements and evidence that make crook a lone assassin very questionable in my and others opinions. Of course,se really just dont know and we may never know. Look forward to future videos from you as you got another subscriber. And btw, as a NY resident ( at least until I can find a way to relocate) I know a lot of people will find your suggestions to replace the AR valuable, fortunately at 70 y/o ive had plenty of time to equip myself properly for whatever comes. Thats all Ill say about how I'm equipped.

Never underestimate a good battle rifle. Anything firing a full size cartridge in semi automatic and that can be easily and quickly reloaded are a great option. My M1 Garands really rekindled my love for 30-06. I have a 52' H&R and a 53' Springfield and I was at the range the other day ringing steel at 600yds with ease. I haven't had any issues finding any 30-06 thats made for the M1. Sellier and Bellot makes a great M1 Garand loading. On a different note, I prefer the lock on open of the 98 style over the lock on close of the 95 for Mausers and I prefer the Mauser action over the Springfield, Enfield, or Nagant. All great rifles, but I like the Mauser, preferably the Swedish 6.5x55 and 98k 8x57mm over almost any bolt action rifle I've ever shot. I have a 1938 s/27 German 98k, all matching, someone sporterized it of course 🤦‍♂️, but at least done right, and it's easily the best shooting 8mm Mauser I've ever fired. I'll always be a Mauser guy. But it doesn't hold a candle to 8 rounds of semi automatic 30-06.
