Remember that otto and the rest of the council was already planning to name Aegon king when viserys died, they actually dont give 2 fks about what Alicent had to say. May she have arrived at the council crying about her husband wishes of making Rhaenyra queen she would just be silenced by otto for the "greater good".

Honestly I really don't understand what rhaenyra was thinking going up to the enemy like that. Even if alicent didn't kill her and she actually agreed with her, what could she have done? Alicent has no real power on her own, its her influence that gives her power and neither her sons nor criston would ever consider peace now.

She doesnt really know that. Remember, as far as she knows Alicent is the one who first orchestrated and pushed for Aegon to be king. Rhaenyra thinks she still has as much sway but rhaenyra doesnt know that her sway has been slipping alot unlike us the viewers

Luke may have been killed by Aemond by accident, but that doesn't mean he was responsible for his death. Just like when a drunk driver paralyzes or kills someone, it's an accident, but they're still responsible for what happened. So is Aemond. P.S. nice nails!

Could be wrong here, but Helaena forgave Alicent for pulling Criston away from his post, which also led to Criston dismissing the Kingsguard from the floor of the Royals because he didn’t want anyone to know about him and Alicent. This all led to literally no resistance met when Blood and Cheese fulfilled their purpose of killing young Jaehaerys. Also, I think Rhaenyra and Alicent had a scene together so that no more fans of the show could just keep saying “THIS WAR WAS ALL STARTED ON A MISUNDERSTANDING” lol - not anymore, Alicent doesn’t fully believe Rhaenyra and believes it’s too late anyways.

I think Helaena was forgiving Alicent not only for sleeping with Cole and being the reason that’s all the kingsguards were off duty so they could during the blood and cheese incident, but also cause she knew Alicent needed it. Like how Alicent attempted to confess to her father in the last episode but wasn’t able to cause he was like “I wish not to heard of it” and in the end she felt like she needed forgiveness from another person cause she couldn’t/doesn’t forgive herself ya know. Also, it seems like Alicent has like religious trauma so I could see her attempting to seek out forgiveness because she feels as though the gods are punishing her for her actions which she mentioned in the last episode too

11:11 I really do agree with that point. If it is about that prophecy she’d send it to Aegon. If the war continues then fine but that prophecy HAS to stay with whoever rules and Rhaenyra isn’t sharing it. If she dies if Jace dies.. there goes the prophecy. And the world suffers because of it. She really doesn’t care about that. And Rhaenys should have been queen. She would have been a good one, but the lords voted against that. King Jaherys knew that and it’s why he called for that vote. He knew if he named Rhaenys there’d be a civil war and the survival of that prophecy was more important to him than whoever sat on the throne. Viserys should have done the same thing.. he didn’t. He wanted HIS blood on the throne. And the realm was plunged into war because of it. This all could have been avoided.

Those two families at the start, Bracken and Blackwood, they showed up last season, and they said then they had a blood feud going on for many generations, on that episode (I don't remember which it was) there was some kind of gathering or a meeting and a fight broke out between the heirs of those families and the one that was a lot younger killed the one from the other family. They really just want an excuse to go to war to each other.

What happened is simple somebody must have gotten hurt or killed during the Blackwood and Bracken confrontation and somebody on both sides must have gone for reinforcements which then turned a brawl into an all-out battle

I'm assuming he's still alive as it hasn't been much of a time jump 2 or 3 years since his disappearance in that boat? I'm confused how seasmoke didn't flew over the boat and followed that day, just like vhagar flew over the ocean and followed Aemond once they left driftmark while I presume he was in the ship ( and not riding her on the way back to king's landing)

I keep thinking I was convicended s2 was going to be the final one, how many seasons are there planned and until what point in history will it cover? (I was spoiled by jeoffrey so I know what happens and I've seen the targeryan family tree wiki so I know which are the future kings, so you can answer with spoilers if you know any info by the writers) ANd, are they going to continue chronological either named as hotd or a new name show but until we reach GoT/Robert Rebellion?

Alicent almost gave away that Aemond was on his way to help Cole. A couple more words and next episode would have been different. F it!!!!!!!

Just give it up, hahaha, as if that would work... the one that renounces the claim would be killed, maybe not immediately but unavoidable. And most likely most of their children. Otto was preparing to assassinate her after the death of the king, he just didn't have the opportunity to do it.

10:40 giving up the throne means the death of all her children, including baela and rhaena. i love this show but this episode was kinda dumb from a writing perspective. Rhaenys wouldnt be so foolish as to think alicent can be convinced and even if she could, that she has any power to stop the war

Now yes, the greens would murder them all even if they give up the throne, but before the death of Jaehaerys im 100% sure the green would spare her life and the rest of blacks coz they offered peace in season 1 and there was not problem coz men are the ones who rule and Rhaenyra giving up the throne would´t be a problem coz any lord would dare say anything bucause they themselves think superior to all women, this is an era of men, period. Woman on the throne it means the greens were going to die and Alicent knew this since the begining no necessarily by Rhaenyra´s hand but for her followers starting by Daemon as you saw, is enough with poisoned food to kill them all so thanks to dear god the greens took the throne.

Rhaenys should be rulers, she the only one with sense. She tries to bestow. Some wisdom on Rhaenyras in the beginning about perception but Rhaenyras character has never had to deal with consequence of her or the peoples of her parties actions so she dismisses Rhaenys, her council don’t respect her because she is like a child unsure, showing no confidence never presenting a strong front, but when Rhaenys speaks they listen there is no doubt in her words. Alicent has no power she honestly never had power it was a facade because Otto had the power although he “used” her he allowed her a seat because he does love his daughter. So it’s not that she is unwilling to listen or admit her mistake it’s that it’s too late I am powerless Team black is write with bias as the Heroes of the story I do wish this series wrote them more as morally grey as they do the greens, because other than Daemon Rhaenyras, Rhaenys, etc they are just good with nothing else with Characters like Aegin, Cole, Aemond etc they have very strong flaws but they want to do the right thing and honorable but when life happens it’s hard Hell Aegon wanted to be a good king and immediately his son is beheaded now he only sees red, Alicent wants to be a comforting mother but she’s not good with those emotions, she went to comfort both Aegon and Helaena but when she saw Aegon break down she couldn’t handle it

Rhaenys? The one that killed some hundreds peasants for nothing, could have ended the war and avoided thousands of deaths but again did nothing. And more, the one that advice Rhaenyra to ridiculously go chat with Alicent after everything that happened. Exposing Rhaenyra at such risk with no control of the situation at all, delivering herself to the enemy. The writers completely made Rhaenyra's sons bastards, which in the books is uncertain, because of Rhaenys. They took away the main characteristic of Daemon that made him gray, affection and devotion for his family and for those he loves (the choking and how he acted towards his daughters). He couldn’t kill Rhea Royce in the book, and he never appeared at Rhaenyra wedding to try to stop her from marrying and almost making out with her. He is portrayed as completely dark They made Alicent more appealing and lovable in the show too, basing her actions in misunderstandings. Making her the ultimate victim by removing all her voluntary involvement in the war. Show made it seem as if Aemond's actions were unintentional, about murdering Luke, whereas the book implies the opposite. The Greens' actions is based on mistakes and accidents

@@howfire Rhaenys killing the commoners is the point im making in season 1 that was a action that could be seen as cruel, but has anyone mentioned it? I believe she can be ruler because this season has portrayed her as wise. It appears the entire point of this show is how perception and misunderstands can destroy people. But I think making characters kess cruel and more Grey makes for a more compelling story, did Aemond kill Luke intentionally in the books maybe or did he lose control and only appear to have done it intentionally to look to others as the fierce warrior who is in control which I think works but then it sets the scale as he is just bad guy versus the scare child who still feels insecure. Daemon pure dark he loves his family but he is a trash dad and now that war is coming is has one single thought win

@@user-hg4gl3lh3h Rhaenys doesnt come across as wise here, she's the one who encourages Rhaenyra to put herself in danger to have a pointless talk with Alicent and she stands up for Rhaenyra against the counsel even though the counsel was entirely right to want to take action while she wasted her time with an impossible hypothetical peace.

@@arobin6695 Rhaenys is right in a good leader most exhaust all options that can lead to peace, bloodshed between family there is no winner. Now the counsel is right in taken actions because we know what’s going on in Green camp that Otto is gone Cole and Aegon are unhinged but Rhaenys doesn’t have that info to her Otto may be manipulative but him and Alicent don’t want war.
