@@TripleARawn I came to a similar conclusion after watching the clip. A true Souls Master would have known to avoid the entire area where Smough despawned during his attack animation, and I'll try to incorporate this into my skill set if I ever play DS again.

I think it’s Smough’s hammer hit box that didn’t despawn during the cutscene, if you look at it closely when the cutscene began Smough was in the middle of an attack, and the player was it in that same spot
@@awhellnah__ i played over 400 hours of dark souls 2 and NEVER saw any strange hitbox, but i played dark souls 1 only 2 times, and bro.... taurus demon, kalameet, manus.... the list can go on, they all had terrible hitboxes
okay but ADP and how equipment load was moved to vitaly sucks, enemy placements and aggro is unfun. Gotta admit dark souls 2 gets too much hate, though, it feels more so an 8/10 than the genuinely bad game that people make it out to be, some notable improvements over ds1: less clunkiness, 8 direction roll, grid inventory, powerstancing, item variety, interesting lifegem+estus healing system (albeit easier, in a fun way), just not as engaging atmosphere, artstyle, boss, and exploration wise to me personally as ds1.
