Seems crazy that for such sophisticated aircraft that no such warning indicates to the pilots that their action is being contravened and overridden by the autothrottle! In such a situation it's easy to see in the heat of the moment that could be overlooked. Surely there should be some warning their action calling for thrust is violating the auto system alerting the pilots rather than the autothrottle quietly assuming control
I remember sleeping on a plane woke up as we were starting to land. The large commercial aircraft then dramatically ascended in a steep climb.
