No what they need to do brother, is sit down and analyze what was going on in the first three tool albums, and make six or seven albums that are in the same quality range. They need to dig down to their depths of their souls and make it happen this time. Not that the last album was not one of the best rock albums ever made, but tool quality is a whole different story. I really think they should have just allowed some other rock bands to take over those songs in that last album and make us wait longer, they might have to really get in touch with themselves again do some mind exploring whatever it is, one technique is to write 20 songs and you should have one really good song out of that now you got to do that 7 times or 10 times or whatever to make t he album... And then they could just sell the other songs to other rock bands. Make a ton of money, and give us what we want which is something in the vein of anema or lateralus
This is a very good collaboration. The guitar riff sounds ordinary, until you hear Zach's voice. Together, they sound great! I had to listen to the entire song 2 times before I realized how good it sounds, and plays in my mind. It's mysterious how music works. There are some songs that grab your mind instantly, while others take a few times.
1993. It was supposed to be included on the soundtrack to the film "Judgment Night", but since neither band were pleased with the end result it wasn't submitted.
Verse 1] Living on the street shores He didn't learn and wanted children Said, "What is there left to stay alive for?" He doesn't want to see it He didn't want to deal with it Here they come, feelings that come as natural Whatever left, he considered a loss, you all He doesn't want to see it [Bridge] Running away, getting some kinda cure "What is there left to keep him alive?" she said Give him your love, give him your love to save him[x2] Give him your love, give him your love to save him Don't run away, give him your love to save him Give him your love, give him your love to save him Give him your love [Chorus] [x2] You can kill the revolutionary But you can't kill the revolution [Verse 2] Lies, negative indoctrination of our good selves Promote feelings of such hopelessness, powerlessness Suicide or a slower death from addiction Seemed to be the only way to stop the pain Running Lies, negative indoctrination of our good selves Promote feelings of such hopelessness, powerlessness Suicide or a slower death from addiction Seemed to be the only way to stop the pain Suicide seemed to be the only way to stop the pain [Chorus][x2
Just found this song, yeah i kno im late, and said to my wife "My fav band and yur fav band did a song together!" She knew who i meant, didnt need to say more!
You thought you were late bro! lmaooo. First time ever hearing this and I've been a consistent Tool listener for the past 12 years since my brother introduced me to them at the age of 10 lol. I don't think many fans of either group know about this, judging by the amount of views. Either way, hope you're doing well after 10 years brother.
i love the New Millennium Homes riff at 5:50 this is a really great song. two of my favorite bands coming together to create an amazing piece of music.
RATM - Political Tool - Social, or more philosophical I guess. Edit - They're both EXCELLENT and should be listened to, as they'll both give you something nutritious for your brain. Second Edit - I kind of pigeonholed RATM there ... just know for both groups, there' s a lot to be found.
I knew I heard this song before! Prophets of rage, party's over. Tom morello must've repurposed portions of this song to make that. The main guitar line is pretty much identical.
This is the baddest song from my two favorites militants of music. It should be the official freedom convoy brothers in Canada and the rest of the world.
Does anyone know what year they recorded this? I'm trying to find out so I know where it fits into Tool's discography. I think the copy I have I downloaded off Napster, so that's how long it's been getting around. Must be mid-late 90's.
Was this supposed to actually be on the Judgment Night soundtrack but was never finished, or is that just something people assume because it's a team up song like the rest of the soundtrack?
It's crazy to think that maynard could have been the original ratm vocalist. Back in the green jello loft days, Tom morello attended some tool gigs and liked how maynard sang and supposedly invited him to the band, but maynard refused in order to focus on tool.
This is the only song they have done. However, Maynard James Keenan has done multiple appearances with rage to do Know your Enemy. Also, Zack has preformed Bottom with Tool in the past.
Its not fake rage and tool are actually old friends. I believe morello and jones used to be in a high school band together and it was morrello that introduced his friend danny carrey to tool...that's a a fun fact
I totally forgot about this song. I'm not a huge toolhead but I love the clash of this. Somebody said it's a clash but it's like yes exactly... So good
@motive911 actually, tom and adam were good friends and played in a band together. tom introduced adam to maynard, and the rest of both bands is history. i bet there are numerous magical jam sessions such as this. listening to that album would be like listening to ghosts talk to jesus.. it would just be that unbelievable.
imagine comerchizaling the revolution and the suffering of every marginalinazed person you person you pretend to represent while you live you live in in your mansions.
You know when this came up after doing a search I thought it was probably b.s., i learned to be weary years ago when coming across supposed Tool unreleased recordings and supposed covers, but this is no doubt at the very least Tool and Zack. I think the thing that worries me though is that i didn't this existed and just about as a big of a Tool nerd as they come. Yeah it would be awesome if there was hi def version, but you can still pick up on the emotion and energy. Thanks for posting this.
I know I'm real late to this reply but according to Morello it was Rage, Maynard, Paul and Danny on the recording but wasn't sure who was playing bass and who was on the drum kit and extra percussions. Though it makes sense if Brad was on the kit and Danny was on extra percussion. Supposedly this leaked because someone from either band, Morello doesn't rule himself out either, made a copy of it to a friend and that friend duped it for a friend of a friend and it eventually hit the tape trader circuit in the 90s.
+Josh Spadafora Why don't you put your foot in your mouth once more time, while you;re at it? First it was Tom and Maynard who went to Harvard together, now it's Tom and Adam. There is no Harvard connection between these two bands! Tom and Adam are both from Libertyville, Illinois and they went to high school together and played in a band called Electric Sheep.
Could you imagine not having Adam Jones play on a track? That's like not having God at a wedding, not that i am religious but you get the point. That's like not having a gaff, if Joe Biden is doing a speech!!!
Living on the street shores "He didn't learn and wanted children Said, "What is there left to stay alive for?" He doesn't wanna see it.." Fucking love you Maynard
