I don't know why RU-vid stops showing posts of channels I like. Which is why I haven't seen any of yours in a while. I like the way you bring your content to the platform. For me, it's like being in a classroom and on the jobsite. You bring a certain way of working with projects, especially older style pieces, that other sites don't. Keep up the good work

I realized Adobe Illustrator is not cheap and difficult learning curve (vector drawing) but Affinity Designer is more affordable and almost as capable. I also warn users getting into laser cutters that its technically an ablation process. There are fumes that need venting/filtration. Cutting wood will create vapours/smoke. And cutting non-organic materials can create carcinogens so make sure to have ventilation and filtration. Pricier laser cutters have optional filtration and exhaust options. Same applies to 3D printers as there are fumes never clearly discussed. So Kate, enjoying the jersey tomatoes and jersey corn? :)

Yeah, Illustrator is not in my budget so I'm looking into inkscape. I do have a good venting system set up for this, but yes the venting is a must and ideally down the road a cabinet for it to make the venting more efficient.

I want to say I read somewhere you can, but I've had issues trying to import certain files where the program scales things up or down, and then at that point the import is no good. I don't have AutoCAD otherwise I would see it if did for you.

I honestly have no clue on the inner workings of RU-vid. Maybe a glitch? That's happened to me on other social media where I realize I unfollowed someone I didn't want to, or followed someone I didn't want to. But, then again I usually chalk that up to liquid happy fingers, and memory loss.

I just assembled my Longer RAY5 10W and checked the initial settings ($$ in Lightburn). I see that the max speeds for X ($110) and Y ($111) are 6000 mm/min. Have you increased these settings and run the laser faster?

I no longer own this laser as I sent it to someone in a giveaway. But, it general with my testing on most of these laser I do not use the upper level of speed on these. The engravings and cuttings work on specific settings and the fastest speeds yield poor results. On the more powerful lasers with higher wattage output they can do jobs faster than the 10 watts but even then I never have the settings set to the highest speeds. Hope that helps.
