First of all those were aired years ago when they first aired them and we’re trying it out second of all DBZ was still airing at that time with those were airing plus GT was airing so the idea that totally wouldn’t want DBZ on TV is such an idea falsity plus there are other countries outside of the US that still air DBZ on television that not Kai.

DBZ stop airing its full run in 2008, besides 1 single episodes that air in 2012 Toonami. So no DBZ did not air its full run while KAI was airing. Second GT and KAI are two separate license? Just because you have the GT license doesnt mean you get DBZ license. Third Every country has different licenses and agreement. Just because DBZ aired in Portugal doesn’t mean it’ll air in America. Fourth Bruce Faulconer had a falling out with Funimation, so now because of legal reasons DBZ can’t air the original Bruce Faulconer OST. Please do more research before posting videos thank you.

@@alexmorgan476 Dude I literally know about the falling out with Bruce Faulconer that still doesn’t change the point. They were still airing episodes with the Bruce Faulconer score even after the falling out as the lawsuit happened in 2005 my dude. Them airing it in DBZ means they still were willing to show it with the Bruce Faulconer score.

Another good point and another good suggestions. The concept of doing a Toonami boomerang isn’t about necessarily if the show is “old” it’s about shows that have an air in a long time adult swim is totally miss managing the point of what they’re trying to sell for this block.

I remember reboot it used to air on abc one Saturday morning, block, then the show went to cartoon network Toonami ,in the late 90’s

The thing is tho those are cartoons when you think of toonami you’re thinking of anime’s not classic cartoons, there’s probably other rights or licensing issues to air these shows anyways and if they aired reboot they would be cooked because that shit looks awful now.

Exactly DBZ Kai has aired forever now just because it’s old doesn’t mean they need to air here. It’s been played on the normal block for years. We wanted OG DBZ Dub. There’s so many old school golden age Toonami animes that they could air in this Toonami Rewind block. That has not aired in YEARS.

The original Dragon Ball Z anime (that everyone including myself and my young brother had watched in the past) is no longer airing on the current Toonami program block. Dragon Ball Z Kai became the better version of DBZ without the filler, and they removed the cheesy dialogue by both Ocean dub and the original Funimation dub (including the nostalgic Bruce Faulconer's background musical scores) from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Don't get me wrong, I do want the original Dragon Ball Z back on the Toonami program block, but in this modern era, they have to stick with the DBZ Kai version that matches the Japanese manga counterpart.

Now let me tell you some miss information about what you just said the Bruce Faulconer score is still accessible. Why because Funimation owns the rights to it they won the lawsuit. Well it was settled out of court but Funimation owns music. There’s even some music that apparently was never released. That’s still in Funimation’s vault which is now Crunchyrolls vault since they took over the studio. Also the Garlic Jr. Arc was awesome.

There is a reason why the OG dub of DBZ and Sailor moon will nevers return, Toei the licensing company has final say on what materails may be licensed out for home media and tv airing. With Sailor moon, Naoko is notable from how much overview she has. Making sure her works arent censored or altered. She does not want the DIC/CWI version out anymore. With DBZ, there a variety reasons, but from what is known they wish to keep a consistent cast, hence why they haven't licensed out the Ocean dub of Kai. As well when they produced the DB super dub, they carried over the funi cast.

@@earthboundfan15 Consistent cast you say? They’ve been changing the cast for a long time. Also, the ocean studio Kai dub was dub as I’ve personally have done voice acting classes with some of the people who worked on the Kai ocean dub. That dub hasn’t been shown more because of licensing issues for broadcasting. Canada’s been trying to get it through for years because they have separate laws in there the United States does.

They tried to get it years ago but were outbid by Hulu according to Jason DeMarco on his old Toonami Pre-Flight podcast back in June 2016. Things might be different now but I think the damage has been done since Crystal has it's issues and turning the remainder of it to movies might have ruined it's chances, especially when Netflix is a factor (at least with Eternal, nobody is sure about Cosmos yet).

@@TheSSUltimateGoku I'm well aware DBZ Kai has been back for about 3 months. What I was saying is, it was off the block for years. Before 3 months ago, it was last seen in 2020 for a spur of the moment marathon and before that it was pulled at the end of 2018.

Exactly. I kind of defeats the purpose. I hope they show classic stuff later on like Zoids chaotic century, but I’m not holding my breath with how Jason DiMarco handles scheduling these days.

Since I started live-streaming on the New Gabe Order Twitch channel Fridays, I had to think of some way that would convince the viewers to choose T3 Express over Toonami Rewind, and I created T3 Express as my answer to Toonami Rewind. T3 Express was originally going to be a Friday afternoon block, but considering my mother enforcing grocery shopping chores on me Friday afternoons, preventing me from watching Toonami Rewind, I settled for Friday mornings. (That's also when Qubo used to air on Ion Television stations before getting replaced by syndicated E/I programming like the Xploration Station.) With T3 Express being on Friday mornings, viewers can get a slice of the Toon Time Theater pie before heading to school or work, and I had to make the block runtime short on Fridays to discourage viewers from being delinquents or slackers. My lineup comprises of Sailor Moon (1992, E/I), My Adventures With Superman, Naruto (2002), Hell's Paradise (Jigokuraku), Hi Score Girl, Smiling Friends and Dragon Ball Z Abridged (courtesy of TeamFourStar). I originally launched T3 Express with Bartender (2006, E/I), but I have decided to step down from live-streaming the series on Friday mornings in favor of Double Doses of Sailor Moon (1992), not making any changes to the amount of E/I programming. Since the FCC doesn't control my Twitch channel, I can live-stream any amount of E/I programming at my leisure without having to abide by the 3-hours-a-week rule the FCC enforces. My main purpose of T3 Express is to give anime viewers early access to Toonami Rewind's programs, particularly for Sailor Moon (1992) and Naruto (2002). That way, they won't have to wait until 5 PM for Toonami Rewind to come on. Plus, Sailor Moon (1992) is the Optimum Productions dub, complete with the "Sailor Says" public service announcements. Dragon Ball Z Kai is on the Saturday Morning Animation Cram Session (Toon Time Theater's primary programming block), and I think jumping between episodes would screw up my progress with the series. As a result, I threw in TeamFourStar's Dragon Ball Z Abridged to the end of the lineup so I won't be confused. Besides, DBZ Abridged condenses the episodes and throws in a bunch of jokes to have the perfect balance of comedy and action. Not only that, most filler arcs are condensed to a single episode, so nothing is lost. (However, I intend to skip the Baha Men "Coconut" episode because, you know.)

This would have been good, I like Kai but it doesn't need a full hour. The 5 : 30 slot would have been fine with the beginning of Funi's One Piece dub after it.

That version doesn’t have the Bruce Faulconer version my dude. Also the new Sailor Moon dub is not the one that aired originally years ago. The whole theme of this Toonami rerun is supposed to be a boomerang sailor moons new dub is not a classic among Toonami since it’s not the old dub. The new Sailor Moon dub should air on the current Toonami block.

Yes with the Bruce Faulconer score the remastered version that are available on DVD and Blu-ray our trash anyways cropped and look like crap.

Look I understand that you wanted DiC Entertainment's Sailor Moon dub back, but you got to remember that DiC Entertainment was folded into Cookie Jar Entertainment in 2008, then to DHX Media in 2016, and then Wildbrain in 2019. DiC Entertainment's Sailor Moon is no longer available to any across the United States (except if you buy the old Sailor Moon VHS tapes or DVDs by ADV Films), and now they have the Viz Media's Sailor Moon to cover everything that DiC Entertainment or Cloverway, Inc didn't air the episodes in chronological order. Plus back then, they've didn't air the last and fifth season of Sailor Moon (Sailor Moon Sailor Stars) in the early 2000s. So I thank Viz Media covering that last season. Hopefully they can reach it after the fourth season (Sailor Moon SuperS) finished its complete run.

@@SSJ491 There ain’t no way the masters are “lost”. Every dub that’s been re-dub has the masters of the original dub, even if it goes from company to company. Supposedly the dic masters where “damaged” but I don’t buy that for a second. I’ve seen companies released old dubs of title that got redub and they end up being fine the Sailor Moon Dic dub it’s just something that they don’t want to release again, even though they can. They did it with Neon Genesis after so much backlash for DVD and Blu-ray. And that title is old too.

This is for those of us who grew up with it after school to introduce to our kids same thing with checkered past …. The dbz we experienced is on streaming but it doesn’t mean it’s allowed for broadcast. There is reasons behind Kai being used besides it being better voice over

@@TheSSUltimateGoku oh my bad, even though I disagree with a rant on a new retro toonami block, I do agree with you on some things. For example I actually did watch it and the bumpers aren't as engaging. Also the schedule isn't as good as the old toonami either. If they were to expand this block, they need to air it for at least 4 hours. Plus add some more shows like, yu yu Hakusho, big o, cyborg 009, roni Kenshin and some old DC super shows like justice league and teen titans(2003).

@@cartycartoons5594 Yes the bumpers are not very engaging at all SlimD716 made some great bumpers on his channel with the Tom 2 which would a lot better. But yeah, adding more classic shows from the old Toonami back the golden arrow would have been more sufficient. We need DBZ not Kai. And Zoids would be good too.

I don't know who licenses the 1999 series, but I'd be down to watch HUNTERxHUNTER '99 if Toonami can secure the license. Sure it's a "classic" adaptation, but that should do the job.

@@TheSSUltimateGoku They aren’t able to air the original anymore, that’s why they’re doing Kai. Shueisha and Toei have made it all but impossible to air the original.

They can’t. Gundam is currently mess with their licenses and Outlaw Star’s licensing contract is owned by Hulu.
