The best part of my childhood was counting the days until Saturday night when Toonami came on. The best memories were me watching Justice League, Yu Yu Hakusho, Ruruoni Kenshin, Rave Master, Batman Beyond, Zoids, Zatch Bell, Yu Gi Oh, Transformers and the greatest DBZ. Cartoon Network you can never take those memories away from me no matter how many new crappy shows you make.
Wow I remember this intro looking so much more realistic. These CGI has aged pretty well actually. I remember watching this as a kid and being so blown away by how awesome the graphics were. Funny how your mind remembers things.
Toonami...it's been an honor having you be a part of my life. A part of my childhood I shall never forget. Kids these days just don't know the epicness they missed out on. The poor souls are stuck with the crap on now, doomed to be forever oblivious to the Golden Age of CartoonNetwork and the blessing that was Toonami. I can't wait to get to heaven, cuz I know Toonami and Meguzi will be playing there 24/7 .^_^
15 years ago…. 15 years ago the internet was new and it was the golden age of Flash and Anime, the web was full of silliness and innocence and all of us were younger and perhaps less jaded… Let us look back to that Golden age and reflect on what once was.
dude i miss toonami so much..when they had zoids, beyblade, crush gear....and when they also aired Wild Force i was jumping with joy..bcos all those yrs. i was searching 4 power rangers...gladly toonami was there to provide them miss the old days of CN....
The 90's were the best. I remember running home and locking my room just to watch DBZ. My parents didn't want me to watch because they thought it was too violent and I remember keeping it nice and low. It was my drug. And eating a quick dinner just to watch more. Yup, those were the days.
I would give anything to hear Tom's voice say "And coming up next, Dragon Ball Z" on regular TV just one more time. I grew up on that show. I looked forward to it every day... man.
what can i say...NOSTALGIA!!?? DBZ, Gundam Wing, Batman...., im lost for words man... i can smell the air of the room i watched this in...beautiful just beautiful.
toonami was my fav...when it stopped for a while, then started up again with the new tom, i forgot what this guy looked like...thank you ppl for recording the originals bcuz this tom looks so much better than that new guy...man...i really miss toonami, n now they switched it with the flicks right? and just when naruto shippuden was starting...
When were younger, my brother and I couldn't wait to get off the bus for some Toonami. We would Kame-hame-ha eachother on the couch until it was time for DBZ. Those were the fucking days man...
What i dont get is how everyone i knew inlcuding me were addicted to this but still had the time to go outside for hours. Lol i loved my childhood and these type of videos make me almost sad to realize that its gone and it went by too fast. Just for once i would love to come back to one day in my past and right after school I would be glued on this. I think nowadays they make crappy cartoons to make kids go outside more. R.I.P late 90's early 2000's I was lucky to have lived in the golden age
Haha, I remember in like 2000 when they extended Toonami to 7pm. It was like My Birthday, Christmas, Easter, Last Day of School + whatever else I missed.
I was pretty much raised on Cartoon Network. Johnny Bravo, Cow and Chicken and Dexter where fine during the day, but once 5 o clock hit it was time for the DBZ, Tenchi Muyo, Dragon Ball, Outlaw Star, Yu Yu Hakusho, Inuyasha omg the list goes on.. I think im gonna cry ) :
man i remember coming back home from school when i was kid just to watch toonami. the line ups were like dragon ball at 5, dragon ball z at 5:30, yu yu hakusho at 6 and something at 6:30 =[. i love toonami for getting me into anime in the first place :]
toonami.... u were my hero as a kid and now....now i just dont belive in u anymore. p.s. when i was a kid i wanted to have toms job just watching tv all day
What they really need to do is release DVD collections of Toonami that simulate the feel of watching the old viewing block back in the day. WIth bumpers like this leading into double-bills of Dragonball Z and other classic Toonami shows, maybe with their weekly "intruder" movies.
@Thelongboardoregon This is what made us grow mature, realistic, and the strength to overcome all obstacles while following our dreams. We just didn't watch a show, we were given insight about Honor, pride, loyalty, and faith. We were instilled with imagination, and a burning love to experience the unknown, the untold, and the unforeseen.
What do these kids know about real cartoons nowadays this is true tv ent. right here it has meaning makes you feel apart of something,Oh and lets not forget "CARTOON,CARTOON". The Sunday morning movies,Which was the only exception to human beings actually being on the network.this was when you would PROUDLY stay up past your bedtime to watch cartoonnetwork.Thumbs up if you miss The REAL CANTOON NETWORK!!!
Outlaw Star Sailor Moon DBZ Hamtaro Tenchi Muyo I grew up on those shows man. I was so excited to get home, ditch my homework and watch them. I was in elementary school then I think. Man DBZ made me a tomboy =D i loved the fighting and looked forward to every episode. Then they just destroyed cartoonnetwork. People who grew up in the 90's are so lucky they got to experience these shows. Kids now will never get to have the joy with shows like Adventure Time out.
