That was really funny! All that Mr. Owl cared about was licking his tootie pop. I didn't even acknowledged his wife and kid or ever looked them in the eye. All he wanted to see is how many licks it takes to get to the tootie roll center of a tootie pop. It would of taken him centuries to get to the center when in reality would only take him a couple of days at most, which is my best guess.

They did their homework for this one - since there are 3,155,760,000 seconds in a century, and the owl gradually takes longer between licks to say the number he's on, him being up to 3,554,000,896 when they find him 250 years later seem pretty plausible!

In truth, the world WILL never know because the answer to the infamous question depends on several things: 1) The size of the hard candy layer. 2) The size of the Tootsie Roll center. 3) The size of the person's tongue. 4) The rate one produces saliva. 5) How hard one licks. 6) How deep one licks. 7) How long one licks. 8) The pattern of the tongue because tongues are as unique as fingerprints and snowflakes. Among other things. In fact, a cow would have a much thicker, longer, and more moist tongue than an owl so it would take much fewer licks for a cow to lick through a Tootsie Pop than an owl.
