HAPPY NEW YEAR to all my dear subscribers! Let's celebrate the fact that 2020 is finally OVER 🎉🎉🎉. Wishing you the very best for 2021 and for those who are not in Jamaica yet, I hope you get a chance to visit very soon! 🥳💚💛❤️🖤
Portland is the most BEAUTIFUL parish in Jamaica. Erald flynn once said about Long Bay a community in Portland, "if there's a Garden of Eden this is it."
@Queen Shamera@ Have You Check Out The Garden Of Eden Right There On The COAST OF MOBAY...??? WoW,,,Happy New 2021 I Wish You And Your Husband Much Success For The 2021 Year...!!!

O wow, I had no idea such magical, beautiful places existed in Jamaica! This is why we won't ever allow another host to do this channel. Sorry Irina, but you're stuck with us to the bitter end >:)
It is a very beautiful place, went there for a work Christmas Staff party on the beach in December 2017. I captured some of the most beautiful pictures ever, planning to paint a picture based off of one of the shots soon. I loved everything, though the water kept giving me shocks of different temperatures, so I could not fully enjoy swimming there, but overall I had fun with my peers and the food was delicious. Would probably go back another time, but in the summer months lol
A valid point about the cost of keeping the beach clean. To charge or not to charge. One of the biggest complaints from jamaicans is hotels buying up large areas of beach and denying access unless you are guests at the resort. Wishing you and your family safe prosperous New year.
The other thing I don’t understand is the archaic normal of charging double occupancy rates and getting away with it. It does not seem to stop tourist.
@@samantha1054 that has been always, just check on a ship voyage, , that is how they ALWAYS operate, just like HIGH SEASON usually is DEC15TH , I also suffer the same now my wife passed on. 🇬🇧🇯🇲🇺🇸
I heard of Frenchman cove, never been their myself and through the video i can see it is worth is hype. I will be honest, i hate dirty beaches especially after a hurricane and u see the seaweed in bulk ashore its also one of the main reasons i hate free beaches because they are hardly maintained. So I'm more of a pool person since that is maintained like for instance Rockfort Mineral spa.
Aaron Davis. Jamaicans are not excited about Jamaica in the way that foreigners are because they live there and take it for granted. Believe it or not many Londoners do not know the 4 corners of some of the historic places of interest in the way that visitors/foreigners do. They too take the place for granted.
@@anngore3842 So true. I live in Connecticut and I'm in the area in which this country was founded and I don't visit the historical places myself since elementry school field trips .... lol. Happy 2021!
As a “new resident” of Jamaica, you have educated me (a born Jamaican) far more, about the history of many over-looked aspects of our beautiful country, than my history teachers in high school. Thank you for your thorough research and excellent delivery. Yu really Irie! One Luv
Almost everyone I know prefers Frenchman's Cove. I like it but it is not my preferred Portie beach. I prefer San San because most of the time I have all that beach to myself. It is quiet and peaceful and on my last visit, I arrived at about 10 am and I was alone for about 3 hours until another person came, she sat quietly and read a book. In the 4 hours I enjoyed that beach, the maximum number of people on that beach was 2 and San San is not a small beach. I also love going for walks up and down the beach, finding little nooks and crannies created by the waves and over hanging bushes. I love washed up smooth wood, smooth pretty stones and shells. There is no limit to what you can find and I love to take interesting things back home with me to litter the yard. With Frenchman's Cove even without the blasted tour buses fulling up the place with tourist that beach can get crowded and I do not like to share my space (yes I am miserable). When it comes to Beauty, Frenchman's Cove is second to none. As a child we roamed from Dragons Bay to Frenchman's Cove like pirates. Moving from location to location, laughing and chatting. From Goblin Hill to Dragons Bay, Blue Lagoon, San San and then Frenchman's Cove. Last week I was watching the movie "Knight & Day" with Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz. The beach scene was filmed at Frenchman's Cove, boat scene at Norse Point and San San Beach.
Thank you for such an interesting story! Yes, I really love San San as well, there will be a video about it :) I've also managed to do some footage for Dragon Bay... , but I'm hoping to get there again with a permission from Sandals (it belongs to them, unless they sold it). It was kinda abandoned last time I was there. San San yes.. and the little island across is gorgeous. However, I still think Frenchman's cove is the winner due to the river and the lush gardens, it's just stunning. And yes, there have been quite a few films shot at Frenchman's Cove. I'll be making a video about Hollywood and Jamaica filming locations :)
I first started going to Frenchman’s Cove in 1973, I have been there 4 times and I call it my piece of heaven, it is without a doubt my favorite place in the world or at least it used to be. I haven’t been there in a very long time since before they went public. They used to have a world famous French chef and when you stayed, it was all inclusive. When you rented a house, it came with a butler and a maid. The people who ran the place were wonderful and everyone went out of their way to make sure that your stay was fantastic.
🇯🇲 Is my favorite place, and I had promised myself to see Portland side when I make it there again ...and Boom, you publish this video. I really appreciate your videos and the history lessons as well. Happy 2021!!
If you plan to stay in Portland...they do have nice hotels, river rafting, waterfalls, surfing, fishing, hiking the Blue Mountains .... fly into Kingston and not Montego Bay
Yes, frenchman's cove is pretty. I don't mind the drive from St Mary once in awhile because there's lots of little places to stop along the way, so I'm usually full by the time I reach! I also understand why they charge money and Im glad you explain this. There was reggae beach( then called bamboo beach) but now closed . It was nicely maintained when named reggae beach and I loved it. Then it was leased to someone calling it bamboo beach and it got too commercialized. Now it is closed and not maintained at all. I hope someone buys it soon as it's near to where I stay.
Hm, interesting, I know there is one place called Bamboo Beach Club in Trelawny, but didn't know about Reggae Beach being renamed and closed. Hmmmm! When did they close it down?
@@JAMAICAWITHIRIE bamboo beach in St ann st mary line. Formerly it was reggae beach. It closed about a year now. It's right after white river on the main. It's pretty there too. Wish I had the money....

Love it love it love it! Jamaica it’s almost heaven in earth🥰 Need to go there and feel the culture, the nature and the people😍 Jah blessings from Spain🙏🏻😊
Irina I hope you, your husband and kids have a wonderful and safe 2021. Thanks for this video and the information you just gave, I know nothing about Portland aside from it's a Parish in Jamaica. Personally speaking l do not think all beaches should be free and you showed a good example why. The Jamaican Government is not good at upkeeping anything, hence the difference between frenchman's Cove and the free beach. You mentioned total free beaches in Barbados, a single Jamaican parish is almost twice the size of Barbados. Jamaica has about 634 Miles of coastline, Barbados coastline is only 62 Miles so it made sense for them to make their beaches totally public.
@@CaribbeanWayz Oh that's so cool, great name! Love Elizabeth Shue since Karate Kid is my favourite movie. Not sure if you knew but Tom Cruise revisits that beach with Cameron Diaz in Knight and Day!
Thank you for this informative video. I am a Jamaican living in the UK. I have travelled to Ukraine many times over the last 15 years. I have never been to Frenchman's Cove, but took my Ukrainian friend for her first visit to Jamaica, in March of last year. We visited Portland, Blue Lagoon etc. She absolutely adored Jamaica. I shall show her this video tomorrow and I know she will be rearing to visit at the earliest possible opportunity.

Sad to say that I lived in Jamaica for 16 years before moving to the United States and I only visited Frenchman's Cove once. The place is absolutely amazing. Looking forward to seeing your other videos. Big Up!👊🏿💪🏿♥️

it was actually Russian :))) my husband and I are Russian speaking Ukrainians, but we are both fluent in Ukrainian as well. Thank you, glad you like the videos! Happy New Year!
I can’t thank you enough for posting this video about Frenchmens Cove and Port Antonio. 16 years ago when my Jamaican husband took me on our honeymoon to Jamaica, we stayed in Port Antonio, just up the road from Frenchmens Cove at a nostalgic hotel called Goblin Hill. He made it a point to show me Frenchmens Cove and it was and still is a Sou stunning! I hadn’t seen such a beautiful beach in my life! Whats more, the people, the people of Port Antonio were so incredibly nice, friendly, and welcoming! I remember thinking “ why don’t people know about this hidden gem! We have to spread the word!”, but its like you said, its hours away from Mobay, so the world may not get to know it, but I sure love hanging at that beach with the locals! They shared stories about those rich & famous people who used to frequent Frenchmens Cove back in the day, like Eryl Flynn, and they showed us Dragon Bay, it was and still is magical! Thank you Irina!!!
Happy New Year 🎊🎆 Irina, and thank you for all your hard work on the videos you have done this year, I really enjoyed them, I wish you prosperous, healthy and a wonderful new year. And that beach is absolutely beautiful I can’t wait to go there
