I absolutely love the way you described 22 A million. This album is something else man. The first time I listened to it I was like “wtf, this so weird?” but then I gave it time and realized how much was buried underneath the weird production. That “if harms me, It’ll harm, I’ll let in” you put at the end kills me every time. Great video!

I'm loving that you put Sufjan, Carly, and The National in your top 10. I started listening to The National in 2019 with I Am Easy To Find and I fell in love with them. I haven't listened to Sleep Well Beast yet but I am going to right now!

So 3 albums on this list (Blonde, MBDTF, 22AM) are my 3 favorite albums of all time. Their own echelon. And yet having listened to each of these front to back literally HUNDREDS if not THOUSANDS of times, you still managed to find something about each of them that I had never emotionally/cognitively grasped. i dunno why, but you talking about strangest thing was the part in this video that stood out the most to me. i have a friend on discord who listens to war on drugs, and i always get a flashback to this video. i’m currently on a drive back home from a vacation. i listened to strangest thing while staring out the window, and when that singular explosion moment came in, all i could do was close my eyes and jam out. i *completely* understand how that had to be difficult to describe in its totality.

I thought Carly had something going on from her pleasant 2012 follow up single "Curiosity" (a radio hit in Canada) but I never could've imagined she'd make something as insanely good as Emotion. I think "Teenage Dream" is the best Pop song of the decade and "Run Away With Me" was the first Pop song to reach that level again for me. and then Lorde with "The Louvre". This is my list. 1. 22, A Million, still feels like such an enigma. Sometimes I feel like I'm listening to it wrong. It feels so far from the Justin Vernon who was in that cabin but it also feels like a natural progression, maybe even a complete rebirth, especially in the context of i, i, which I absolutely adore. To me, 22, A Million, feels like a memory of a memory someone told you about when you were young. It's disjointed and fleeting yet feels massive and important all at the same time. I think I just have a lot of feelings about this album, one thing's for sure, Justin Vernon is one of my favorite artists ever.
