Man, Pitbull's music is just so good. His hits were part of my childhood and early teenage years, and today, those same songs still bring a lot of nostalgia. One thing though: you can't even imagine how big El Taxi was. Like, I'm talking Despacito-kind of levels of popularity here in my little country in Central America. It became his very last major hit though, but what a way to close the party. Dale
I generally don't care for his music, but I love listening to him talk about music. I feel a similar way about Andrew Huang. I think his music is fine but I really enjoy.listening to him describe his thoughts about making music.
I DJ local weddings and high school dances, and Pitbull songs are still some of the most hype songs to play - they just work in a dance context, and there’s something simply good about that niche.
Pitbull and Fast and Furious franchise really are my favorite 2010s guilty pleasures. My 2012 senior year will not be the same without both.😂 Dumb yes, but OHHHH THE FUN! P.s. Ne-yo and Pitbull unironically is the perfect combo.🎉
this is a fun video to watch because I have a superstition that if I play pitbull during a scary or threatening situation nothing bad can happen to me because The Vibes Aren't Right For It so the Good Time coordinator example made complete sense to me- he's like a bard with a spell of Party Time (and Fireball, lol)
the man names his albums "global warming" and "climate change", phenomenon with scientific consensus, but doesn't believe that the covid pandemic is real, something that also has scientific consensus
Growth is learning that Pitbull was just a fun time and he just wanted us all to have a good time together. I definitely hated on the man growing up but now, I do enjoy his music.
I'll be real, back when his biggest hits came out, I rolled my eyes at a lot of pop music. Not on principle, because I mostly listend to pop, but I guess I was quite pretentious about music. Nowadays, everything is so rough that hearing these hits is like a breath of life. I just want something bombastic and upbeat to listen to, and these scratch that itch now apparently.
At 22:33, I went and looked up A Dose of Buckley. In the year of our lord 2024, he's still doing that. "Uh, Miss Leray? I think you mean girls ARE players, too?" Garbage.
It is strange that pitbull can make me nostalgic for my teenage days. I remember my classmates playing that song non-stop during recess while I sat in the corner suffering from social anxiety. Ah the good times.
“75, Brazil Street” is an old song, he’s literally just using that songs instrumental for “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho)” with zero changes, if you like that song, you’ll like the original lyrics. Lmk if you listen. You’ll thank me later.
In the world of photography, I know everything. I can explain how the exposure triangle works, what lens to use for what task, and every setting in your camera, and why you would use it. The only thing I can not do well, is figure out how to take a photo of anything anyone would want to look at. My wife, who knows pretty much nothing about the camera, hands it to me, and tells me what kind of shot she wants to take. I set it all up for her, hand it back, and she then takes an amazing photo that I could never have seen by looking at the world. I see a lot of this in Jacob. Amazing technical skill, but just doesn’t click when it comes to creating music others want to listen to. Oh, and a side note, I am pretty good at wildlife photography, as that’s all technical, blast 1500 shots, and keep the one that looks good. The wildlife is doing all the creative work :)
I genuinely wish we had more brainless bops right now rather than the serious-ass downers we got going on during two wars, the impending AI takeover that's going to fuck us all out of our jobs, and financial repercussions of the world shutting down for two years due deadliest global pandemic in modern history. Planet Pit and Black Eyed Peas soundtracked us through the Great Recession. I turn to music to take a break from the world around me, not to further drown myself in it.
