I live totally alkaline and leave all acidic foods alone. I eat certified organic acid free, and also add baking soda (PH9.5) to all my drinking water and drink alkaline water all day. I do not even have an ache or pain of aging at over 70.

Most of those foods are my favourites that I eat often but not daily. I got cancer. I was eating a lot of sugar so now I have dropped the sugar. When I eat chocolate I get an awful headache like an axe in my skull and a feeling of pressure. I totally blame whatever is in the chocolate. Find a PRAL chart to learn what foods are more or less acidic. Generally speaking, meat, fish and grains become acidic when metabolized by the body. Vegetables and fruit become alkali. You can eat both, as long as when the numbers add up, they weigh heavily toward alkali.

Its not only what we intake but what about the loads of cosmetics or antibiotics that goes in. Each & every thing that is applied externally goes directly into the bloodstream. We can't segregate as number 5 or 10 as acidic/alkaline foods. The list is longer.

Start adding aluminum free baking soda to your water in the amount of one half teaspoon per quart or liter and drink this at least 3 quarts per day. I usually drink 4 or 5. Also never touch or bathe in water with chlorine in it. This was the main ingredient in mustard gas in world war one and killed troops by plugging the lungs. I have been able to rid myself of your issues mostly 80% by just putting in and using a water softener. For the rest I use kelp (a seaweed) by shaking it on food like pepper or salt. Using the equivalent of about two capsules full per day in this way restored the other 20%. It has lasted 25 years and counting now. The alkalinity will remove the acid reflux, and the water and kelp will clear the sinuses and throat, removing the coughing and constant clearing needed now. This should take less than one week for initial results and within one month your histamine balance should once again be ok. This lifestyle is permanent.
Acid reflux is caused by not enough stomach acid. Take a teaspoon-tablespoon of apple cider vinegar an hour before meals or when ever you have a flare up. My GERD and need for meds was gone in one week
If happen to have bout of acid reflux, just drink plain water to wash acid back where it belongs; avoid overeating and definitely avoid going to bed on full stomach or even bending with full stomach to pick something off floor. Also do sit up straight to avoid burping up acid into esophagus. Avoid carbonation. Behavior and water! Next time I have an apple, I'll have to pay attention to see if relieves need to clear throat/cough. I love a good fresh juicy apple, but I avoid apples due to high carb/sugar.
@@Healitnow Please forgive me but Baking soda should only be used once in awhile when need to burp to relieve nausea. For acid reflux, drink plain water to wash acid back down where it belongs and remember, to avoid burping up stomach acid, maintain good posture (shoulders back, raise ribcage), avoid bending or lying down too soon after eating, go easy on carbonated drinks. As for avoiding need to clear throat/need to cough, so many possible triggers .. staying well-hydrated can help and sometimes just a bit of Nasal Saline can thin mucus in back of throat and/or gargle and spit warm salt-water.. I hope to try the Kelp. Many people are stuck with using chlorinated water for bathing because of this or that .. it is a bummer .. if so or if just wish to conserve water and/or softener cartridges, do a thorough job of scrubbing every inch of skin with sudsy wash cloth (it takes friction to remove feces left by bacteria that lives on our skin) .. get wet, lather hair, turn off water, scrub all the rest (friction, not just a bar of soap or a soapy hand), turn the water back on and rinse .. dry thoroughly .. once or twice a week should do, unless a person has very dirty job or possibly some diet or medical condition. In between, daily PTA scrub at the sink should keep a person fresh enough. It is really disgusting what goes into water these days, but water is only a small part of the problem when it comes to what most of us eat and drink .. for most of us, likely to get worse before it gets better.

I have a couple of questions, how is it that lime and other citrus fruits are alkaline and have an acid of 2.5 ph? And isn't the stomach acid 1.5 ph and that everything we eat becomes acidic and then in the intestines the ph increases to 7.5 ph? Alkaline diet is healthy but nothing to do with the ph value, just a reduction in processed food and that's it. I think it's all about dosage because even too much healthy food and even water can cause poisoning in a certain amount
the stomach acid has a pH of about 1.5. after digestion, the pH is changed by the production of bicarb to neutralize the acid,,, if that didn't happen, we wouldn't live very long after a meal, the acid from the stomach would digest the intestines. the food we eat does NOT alter the body's pH.

Great information w/the exception of Almonds. The nutritional info in the video IS true-BUT the problem is, it takes 1900 gallons of water to yield 1lb of edible almonds. Peaches i.e. use about 8-10 gallons of water per lb. MOST almonds in the U.S. come from California-a state that sadly can not continue wasting so much drinkable water for the almond industry, as it needs this water for other crops and more importantly to battle perennial fires throughout the state. Think walnuts, pumpkin seeds, pistachio nuts, macadamia nuts, and pecans as high energy very healthy substitutes for almonds.

Just as I have (nearly) never bought sugar or any Nestle prodect again since I976 when I first read about the corruption of those industries. The "eco people" kept sueing forestry services until they stopped the practice. Because they wanted to keep the wild habitats. So now when the dry winds blow they dry that deadfall and a dead tree will just burst into flames without any matches or lightning they just burst like a bom. So there went the forests. I drank a large glass of water with a whole squeezed lemon every day for months, and now I have severe acid reflux if I eat certain acid foods. That’s why I’m watching this video, but I’ve stopped drinking lemon water, and can occasionally eat some low acid foods. Cayenne pepper is also risky.

Can I roast or steam veggies for the same effect? Every morning I alternate Kale and spinach that was fresh but I froze it to last longer. Is this okay or does it change the PH levels?
I don't know about changing the pH but if you can maybe buy the frozen ones instead. Those are frozen at their most optimal time therefore preserving the nutrients.

Anything we ingest is mixed with stomach acid, and immediately becomes acidic, as we cannot alkalize the stomach. The alkalinity of our tissues seems to be more a result of our metabolic process and not from the pH of what we eat. Would anyone refute this? If so, can you point to any source of information that explains how alkalinity of food/drink could survive the acidity of the stomach and its digestive acid? I was on the alkaline diet before and this is what was presented to me, and Ive yet seen any explanation other than "theoretically".
