Banshee has SUCH a good layout but those restraints feel way too secure. I want to wiggle as I ride. If I feel that I am a part of the ride and move in perfect unison with it, it just feels wrong
For me, Banshee doesn’t need the whip, that first drop alone is enough to make it my #1. Plus I love how different it is from the others and provides a tremendous amount of hangtime in all of its inversions. Stoked to see Flight Deck made this list! It deserves all the love it gets, despite being the shortest invert.
I agree. To be fair, I haven’t ridden any other inverts so I feel like I shouldn’t judge. When I went to cedar point raptor was closed. I just don’t think the vest restraints can be that bad.
I've ridden four of these now and there is no way that the Batman clones are better than Banshee. It could be that the original Batman is at my home park and I've rode it hundreds of times since it opened. I just rode Montu for the first time yesterday and I would go 1-Montu 2-Banshee 3-Raptor.
This list was a rollercoaster of emotions for a UK enthusiast. So happy to see nemesis inferno at 6, but then somewhat shocked to see it's bigger brother only one spot above! Great list regardless!
@@SkeledroMan may sound dumb but tbf it is very underrated. It has the amazing pre lift section, decent theming and landscaping, a killer soundtrack and a very whippy layout
@@tomwhite4596 pre lift section is nice but not amazing. Landscaping is decent but theming could still be a bit better imo. Layout is decent too, but not top 10, nothing makes it stand out a whole lot from other inverts, unlike Nemesis or Oziris. Oziris deserves a place on the list more than nemesis inferno IMO.
I'm shocked Banshee wasn't on this list! I get that it has been getting rough, but I would put it way over the Batman clones. I'm not surprised that Alpengeist didn't make the list. When I rode that, I was bored. It pulled no forces and was too smooth. I heard that people said it was rough, but I disagree... There was no head banging what so ever (It might have something to do with me being 6'3). Anyway, great video as always!
I found the majority of Alpengeist very forceful. Its has one bad transition but thats about it. Banshee has gotten a bit shaky from my last ride but it has the best drop and the best mix of inversions on an invert ive ridden. Its definetly better than everything on this list except Montu. But Montu is in my overall top 15
Wow. No Banshee. I’ve ridden Batman, Flight Deck, and Raptor and I felt those were all inferior rides. Banshee has insane airtime on the drop and great hang time and I feel I’m the only enthusiast who enjoys the vests. They make the experience just so smooth.
@@ThemeParkAvenue I understand your viewpoint. That is a mighty invert and a must do for me at Kings Island. It is my favorite steel coaster at the park and in my top 10 overall. The only thing is I wish the theming was more menacing and they put gothic scenery throughout the layout. Imagine flying through churches, crazy near misses with tombstones, and more! But it is Cedar Fair so that is too high of expectations.
You should do another Top 10/15/25 most intense coasters you've ridden list. It's been a long time since your original list, and I'm really curious as to where some intense coasters you've ridden recently (Karnan, Flying Dinosaur, Mindbender @ Galaxyland, etc.) stack up with the likes of Skyrush & Intimidator 305.
Shocked Banshee isn’t on here. No, it’s not “whippy”,but the hang time in the inversions is so awesome and it’s a long ride full of amazing elements. Though I do fully agree Montu is number 1.
Ive only ridden 2 B&M inverts wich are katun and black mamba but i actually prefere katun slightly over black mamba. That first drop is insane (especially in the back row right seat) and the whole ride is just packed with positive G's
As a UK enthusiast thats also a ride host at Thorpe Park, its absolutely amazing to see nemesis inferno make the list and have some much needed appreciation thrown at it! great video taylor!
Wow I am honestly shocked that Banshee is not on the list. I know Banshee has more spaced out elements but that first drop is insane! Banshee is my favorite of the 5 or 6 that I have been on. Also the Batman clone at six flags over Georgia is insane for only being 100 ft tall
My list from what I have ridden: 10. Raptor 9. Dueling Dragons-Ice 8. Alpengheist 7. Great Bear 6. Talon 5. Flight Deck 4. Patriot (note: I understand it was running a lot faster than normal when I was at WoF, resulting in near grey outs from the bottom of the drop through the first 2 inversions) 3. Dueling Dragons-Fire 2. Afterburn 1. Montu You can tell I love trenches by my top 2, that is what puts Montu and Afterburn over the others for me (well Afterburn anyways, Montu would probably get my top spot either way because of it's crazy intensity and the trenches just further cement it in the top spot for me).
@@aaroncollins1187 I rank it much higher than most. Even after 2 Batman clones the fact that they're exact clones makes them pretty low on my priority list when I go to a park that has one. They're certainly good clones but if Six Flags didn't want to pay for new designs they could have cloned other versions, preferably from overseas although I know they don't operate for enthusiasts and the GP won't care/might even like seeing familiarity if they've been to other Six Flags parks. That said I wouldn't complain if Dragons clones were built even though I've ridden both, preferably for a park that would utilise the dueling. Or a park like Knotts, Carowinds, or Cedar Point built second inverts that dueled their current inverts, it certainly brings both Dragons up in the invert heirchy.
@@TheGreatGritzy I suspect rides like Nemesis and Black Mamba probably would be top 3 inverts if I got to ride them (don't see anything overtaking Montu). I don't see it happening for another 2-3 years at this point being that I'm currently unwilling to get on a plane because of the relaxed mask restrictions and COVID still being a thing.
@@TheGreatGritzy And I actually have been to Europe, sadly not for coasters though since there aren't really any in Portugal (I looked at potentially taking a train to Madrid or Barcelona but it was not workable being there for school. And that's not where the best European coasters are anyways).
I'm glad to see Banshee not on this list. I don't like Banshee's layout, and the vests just reduce the quality even more. Two of my favorite parts on Raptor are the first drop and the zero-g roll. I was quite disappointed that Banshee's execution of those elements entirely lacked the whip (and floating feeling) that is usually provided with those on most inverts. Removing the best parts of an invert and giving it inferior restraints is not a good recipe. I absolutely love the dive off the mid-course break run on Montu, and Banshee has nothing to compare to that as well. It's sad because being so much newer, B&M could have easily made Banshee one of the best inverts ever. And I agree with Taylor, that it instead ended up inferior to even the Batman clones.
Riden Montu 50xs. It never gets old. For those of you that have never experienced a batwing. At the bottom after 1st inversion, the G forces you feel are unreal.

Don’t think he overlooked it, I just think Taylor likes more of the intense older styled inverts. Banshee is more modern and I think the newer restraints can actually take away from the intensity of the ride
@@CarolinaPride95 I think banshee would be one of my favorite rides in general if the restraints weren't so restrictive. It's not even that I just like getting tossed around a bit-- that thing seriously pins you to the seat after that first drop and inversion. I tried to give myself some room on my second ride and ended up just as pinned as the first time lol
Having flight deck make Taylor's top 10 makes me soooo happy! Great America was my home park growing up and I love that ride. That old skool B&M that's pretty forceful!
This video is one of the very few things that makes me proud to be a Brit 💪🏻💪🏻😂 Thorpe is my local park and it was awesome to see some appreciation of Inferno, but I completely have to agree that Nemesis is so much better! Just can’t beat it!

I’ve ridden 6 b&m inverts and is my ranking 1: Banshee 2: Alpengiest 3: Montu 4: Raptor 5: Afterburn 6 Greatbear I’d hate to put Greatbear at 6 but something had to come in last.
Batman at over Georgia is my favorite invert over some other great ones like Montu and Afterburn. Its one of the most forceful and fast-paced coasters I've ever been on
My favorite Invert to date that I've ridden (haven't been on many unfortunately), has got to be dueling dragons. Now defunct sadly, and I'm not choosing one over the other because they both were fantastic. Miss those coaster 😢
Very strange that Cedar Points ride is on the list, despite being one of the most boring rides I've ever rode. Banshee is definitely more intense than Raptor. Including Raptor is bozo material.😹🤡
I'm shocked Katun didn't make your top 10. That looks real good. I've been on 18 of them, all in the US. I'm only missing Talon and Patriot (Which I should get next month). My Top 5 are: 1. Montu 2. Afterburn 3. Alpengeist 4. Raptor 5. Flight Deck As far as the Batman clones I like Magic Mountain and Over Texas the best, and I find that St. Louis and Great White are the worst 2 for me.
The only 2 I’ve ridden are Batman and Great Bear. Great Bear is a strange layout and I really didn’t expect the helix at the start to be that good but it actually pulls some good positives
Montu for what it does holds it’s own against my other favorites and was my undoubted favorite coaster until Fury 325 and Iron Gwazi and even then I still find myself thinking I’d rather ride montu over those two depending on the experience I want

I’ve been on plenty inverts and Montu some how always blows you away. Busch gardens is my home park and when you pull in to the parking lot and see montu across the street, it hypes you up!!!!
I only rode 4 Bolliger and Mabilliard. Batman The Ride at Six Flags Over Texas, Raptor at Cedar Point which I loved at all times, Talon Grip Of Fear at Dorney Park, and Banshee at Kings Island.
Me too. Shocked that he ranked Raptor so high, it's fast and intense but no theming whatsoever, almost feels like a car park coaster! I haven't done Katun or Oziris yet though, they might well challenge my top 3
At this point Banshee is the only invert I really like, before Great Bear was up there and I loved it, but on my recent visit to Hersheypark it wasn’t as good. On floorless coasters they’re just fine, but I despise the old over the shoulder restraints on inverts, Afterburn nearly knocked me unconscious and is what I consider to be one of the top 5 worst roller coasters I’ve ridden period! A night ride on Banshee in the back row is so elite and some of the most fun you can have at Kings Island, call me crazy but it’s a better night ride than The Beast! Banshee is a top three B&M for me, only ones better are Fury 325 and Candymonium
Proud of my home park for such a smart investment into Top Gun(Afterburn). Before Fury, Night Hawk, etc. this was the premier roller coaster at Carowinds and its a toss up #2 between it and Copperhead Strike. Very whippy especially in the back!
Oziris is such a great ride! Maybe one of the best first drops on any rollercoaster in europe, great elements with that funky straight section between the loop and the immelmann and my favorite element on any invert - the zero g roll - is found twice here, theming is great too. I'd critize maybe the pacing in the turnaround between the rolls and that it's not as whippy as the older ones, but for me its definetely above black mamba and the black mamba clones. Montu is better tho!
So glad to see some love for Talon. Dorney is back to being my home park and we just got ourselves season passes, so I'm looking forward to riding it with my kids, just as I did with my dad growing up.
Hey thanks for the video, I enjoyed it! I do love riding them, BUT I have a phobia: Strapping in one when my legs dangle. 😮 Because you can’t control involuntary functions like breathing, tremor, & blood pressure; I knew my panic was real. Still, I’ve never let my fear stop me. Especially when I know the fear is irrational. So, I finally did it! I refused to miss out any longer, & by chance it happened to be on the Silver Bullet. 6 inversions & 3100+ feet of track later, I exited the ride. My knees were shaking! 😅 Just wanted to say that late 50’s is not too old. You’re as old as you feel. Keep on conquering life, one fear at a time! It’s a worthwhile journey! ❤
CGA is my home park and I thank you for talking about flight deck. It’s the most underrated roller coaster in the world imo it’s such a slept on ride. Thank you
I have the same top 3, but Afterburn at 1, Raptor at 2, and Montu at 3. Afterburn only has 1 "boring" moment when it goes over the station and lift hill. Raptor and Montu have amazing first halves, but there's a lot of meandering in the second halves of both. Raptor gets the edge over Montu because of the helix at the end.
It's my Home park as well. I probably have 200 on the Montu this year alone and I've been going since opening day 26 years ago 🤘 I feel like Alpengeist would be much better if it didn't have the weight instead of a front car but that's probably why the back hits so hard and you get a good Gray. Not a fan of the two unnecessary snaps just to make it feel like you're a skier break in your legs though.
Alpengheist is my favorite, it just crushes you in that first half. Then you die on a badly made transition to the overpowered brake run. But then the second half still feels decently paced and has some fun inversions.
Nemesis has submitted plans for a retrack, Alton Towers don't have a history of retracking rides, they usually remove them, but I guess they want to keep their iconic ride going for many years to come
I’ve done 11 B&M inverts (3 of which are Batman clones), here’s my rankings and where they sit in my overall rankings: 1. Montu (14/243) 2. Afterburn (23/243) 3. Banshee (30/243) 4. Batman SFGADV (43/243) 5. Batman SFSTL (44/243) 6. Alpengeist (46/243) 7. Chinese Fireball (60/243) 8. Hungarian Horntail (61/243) 9. Great Bear (63/243) 10. Raptor (66/243) 11. Batman SFOG (92/243) Funny enough, my experiences on SFOG’s Batman and Raptor were the two LEAST intense inverts that I had done. I don’t know if I went on a bad day or not, but I found those two to be far less forceful than any of the other inverts I have done
Just gotta say nemesis is number one for me. And black mamba close behind. Nemesis just hits so hard, defo the most intense invert and it fits the theme like a glove with the intensity, roughness and every element hits so hard. The roughness adds to the experience which is crazy to say, John Wardley's magnum opus!
I know you didn't put Banshee on your list, but the first drop in the back is absolutely legendary with how hard you get yanked! Best first drop at Kings Island!
my favorite BM invert is Monster at Walygator parc. This is basically Raptor, but plopped down in a field. It doesn't even have a station building, it's just naked. However, its midcourse break run isn't functionnal, so you always get intense second halves.
Batman at SFOG is great and was my first invert at my home park. When I visited Busch Gardens Tampa and rode Montu, my reaction to that one was more of a "meh" since I had ridden the crazy SFOG Batman so many times. Batman has no dead spots in it at all, and it's honestly a great ride that deserved to be cloned. I think if it weren't a clone, it would be much higher on the list.
I agree, I don't think Montu's anywhere near as good as it gets made oit to be. Good coaster, but when the dragons were there, it wasn't even the best invert on Florida!
Must’ve rode the Batman clone at SFSTL at a bad time. As someone who has SFSTL as their home park, I’ve noticed that if you ride it on a very hot day with a full train, it absolutely rips through the layout
My favorite invert is Montu as well. That Batwing is insane. Although I wasn’t as impressed with Afterburn as I thought I’d be. Batman @ SFOG and SFMM are also insane.
Good list, was surprised to see Raptor ahead of Afterburn, but I see the reasoning behind it. Montu is definitely my favorite in the US, but hopefully I can go overseas one day and check some of those out.
I personally think you should’ve grouped Patriot at Worlds of Fun with Talon because they’re both so similar they’re nearly the same ride. And Patriot has such a great zero-g roll.
I’ve been hoping for this ranking for a while. Pleasantly surprised to see Nemesis Inferno in there. Admittedly there are many enthusiasts in the UK who believe it gives a better ride experience than the original at Alton Towers. Inferno is unique in having that long pre-lift section and the interlocking corkscrews.

I agree that some Batman clones are stronger than others, but I actually like the one in St Louis because I don’t find it as rough as some others that get that B&M rattle. I like aggressive but smooth inverts, which is a reason why I also agree with you that Montu is my favorite one as well.
I've ridden 3 of these so far, and I love a good invert. I have them ranked as 3. Batman the Ride (SFOG) 2. Afterburn 1. Montu I will say that Batman at Over Georgia is relentless from start to finish, can't say how the other clones feel but I can agree that this Batman is running great. Afterburn is a longer ride with more terrain, so I prefer it to Batman. The front row is also much better as you get more wind. Montu wasn't #1 until I got to ride the front recently (twice) and it is insane. Front row vs any other row is like night and day. I know a lot prefer the back of inverts, but I'm front row 100%. I feel like the front is always MORE intense than the back, but then again, I'm the guy who ranks Journey to Atlantis over Kraken and Goliath (SFOG) over Mako, so, I wouldn't trust my opinions lol
Raptor for sure is a fantastic B&M Invert. Having been on both Raptor, and Montu I can attest that they are both elite inverts. The only other one I have been on is Banshee which I enjoy a lot more than most people do.
I agree with this list completely. I haven’t been on all of these but the ranking of Nemesis, and Nemesis inferno is spot on. So happy to see Montu at Busch Gardens takes the top spot. By far the best invert I have had the pleasure to ride.
Still my favorite type of coaster, I love being able to see the floor and the feeling of flying is everything I love about inverts. My first coaster ride as a kid was a Batman clone named Goliath at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, its everything I love about coasters, my not be the fastest or scariest but I love it.
Surprised that Katun (Mirabilandia, Italy) didn't make this list. I know there's some awesome coasters but imo it's better than rides like Nemesis Inferno. Yh I'm one of those UK inferno critics but still having ridden both I defo take Katun
I gotta say the most B&M Inverted Roller Coasters I went on is Talon at Dorney Park and Batman The Ride at Six Flags Great Adventure. But however, hopefully I will go on more Inverts in the future!
My favorite B&M invert is Alpengeist at Busch Gardens Williamsburg followed by Montu at Busch Gardens Tampa, Banshee at Kings Island, Raptor at Cedar Point, Dragon Challenge (Hungarian Horntail and Chinese Fireball respectively) at Universal's Islands of Adventure (R.I.P.), Goliath at Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Batman: The Ride at Six Flags Over Texas and Six Flags Great America respectively, Great White at SeaWorld San Antonio and Silver Bullet at Knott's Berry Farm.
