Reign in Blood will be an album I'll be trying out in the car bud 🙂You can't beat abit of OMD, I never used to be a big fan but over the years I've really appreciated their music more, a band I'd like to see live at some point. Did you ever see the documentary a few years back called Synth Britannia? Great video John, it's cool to see your favourite band choices.
Reign in Blood is just a relentless frenzy of thrash and I love listening to it!! I feel I've got to listen to it fully and not dip into it like a can on other Slayer albums 😁😁🤘🤘 OMD really connected with me in a big way, it was great to find out about a band like that from day 1, so I could get everything they put out day of release, exciting times AP 😊😊 they are brilliant live, we will definitely see them at some point 👍👍 yeah Synth Britannia was one of the best documentaries I've seen on those days 👏👏 thanks for watching mate, hope to do more music related content in the future AP 😁😁🤩🤩
Some solid selections there!! Reign in Blood tells you all you need to know about thrash metal in just under 29 mins, The Dickies are fantastic as well, seen them every time they've come to Newcastle since The Mayfair in 1990 😀
That's a great way to describe Reign in Blood Christopher 👌👌👏👏🤩🤩 we've pretty much seen them since around 2016..... i saw them in 98 previously! Such an amazing band!! The present line up is spectacular 🤩🤩👌👌
You held up The Dickies album and my first thought was 'Fan Mail' what a great song....nice list...big Pixies fan here as well, and have become a bit of a Frank Black obsessive as well...
Cheers Mark 😁😁👍👍 the minute I heard Fan Mail in my mates bedroom I was like 😲😲😲😲😲 this song has to be the most perfect thing I've ever....or will ever hear 😁😁😁👌👌👌👌 I think I bought a Frank Black cd "Teenager of the Year" in a sale once and thought!! 🤔🤔 this guy can write a good song, then went back to Pixies and the rest is history 😁😁😁 stunning songwriter 👏👏👏 cheers for watching Mark 😁😁👍👍
I’ll forgive you for The Smiths not being there as you have a few of my top 20 bands such as The Pixies, Sex Pistols and Killing Joke there John. Great stuff mate
I know you are a huge fan of The Smiths Davey, I do like some of their stuff but kind of prefer Johnny Marr's solo stuff personally bud 🤔🤩 can't get enough of these bands mate, listen to them all the time Davey!! Cheers mate 😁😁👍👍
Killing Joke being revolutionary is an understatement and half, one of the corner stones of modern music no less, not many realise that unfortunately. RIP Geordie. PS. Brave list John haha. All the best.
Yeah they changed the landscape of music for me Oktober 😁😁 you can see loads of bands copying Geordie's riff style!! He used to play the most aggressive sounding noise but never seemed to move!! The whole band were masters of their craft 🤩🤩🤩👌👌👌
Great vid mate. Never checked out too much of The Pixies but really love their cover of In Heaven. Slayer are an amazing classic thrash band. Definitely the best out of the big 4. Love Haunting the Chapel the most out of their releases Sex Pistols are phenomenal. My favourite song by them is New York. Love that classic electronic stuff like Kraftwerk & Jean Michel Jarre The Misfits were a phenomenal band. So cool you got to meet Jerry & Doyle. Samhain are also amazing. Really enjoyed this video my friend. Hopefully see more music vids from you in the future 😀 Take care mate Rich
Cheers Rich 🤩🤩 yeah I will definitely get more music on the channel got loads of stuff I want to talk about concerning all things music! Will do a video of when I met The Misfits in 1998, quote surreal 😲😲 got on yhe tour bus, they were getting interviewed by Kerrang and Doyle is..... quiet 🤫🤣🤣 cheers for your thoughts Rich 🤩🤩👍👍
Can't wait for that video man 😀 Yeah I notice in a lot of videos Doyle is very quiet & reserved. It seems to me he may have social anxiety. I could have seen him play in Hitchin a few years back but only found out about it a month after the gig lol I remember watching This Is England and seeing a guy in a Misfits shirt at one of the parties and thought no way would that shirt of been available in England in 1983 hahaha
@ReelsofMayhem-gv6pd I do think he has social anxiety and also when he was younger he had a high voice which probably didn't suit him but yeah you will not get much from him! Jerry on the other hand is the TOTAL opposite!! A real chatterbox and also chatted the Kenny (the other brother) he was quite chatty as well, I asked him why Doyle was called Doyle (this was before the WVF addition) Kenny said "Cause it's cool" okaaayyyy so that cleared that up 🤔🤯🤣🤣 yeah Misfits would have not been known till earliest 1986!!
Nice vid John. I have most of OMDs vinyl releases up to The Pacific Age era and Dreaming. I even have some US 12" singles with remixes not available in the UK. I still don't have the original Factory pressing of Electricity and I haven't got the French single version of She's Leaving yet. I saw them live in Nottingham in March, they were superb. Also love Kraftwerk as you know. Take care both of you. Gaz.
Cheers Gaz 😁😁👍👍 yeah I know your a huge OMD fan and their stuff was so good to collect mate, loved all the editions I amassed over the years, stopped collecting after the Dreaming 7inch just wish I'd not got them water damaged Gaz!!! 😱😱😱😭😭😭😭
@@MondoChelloveckMovies Yeah mate I know how I would feel if that happened to me. Actually it did happen to about 20 of my LP/12" singles and to say I was not happy would be an understatement. Fortunately it wasn't any of my OMD stuff.
Hello John, top video as always dude. I want to thank you for introducing me to TRANCERS, what an absolute beauty got the 1st 3 of them. But I was naughty and got the 4k of the 1st one with the SLIP my cup of tea alright 👍 👊💪. Again don't tell the wife. Also city of the dead and blood and black lace limited 4ks, I'm in trouble haha. Take care mate 😝👊💪😉👍
Cheers Tobias 😊😊👌👌 thanks mate 😁😁 Can't recommend Trancers highly enough!! What a FUN film!! And series!! I have the first 3 I need to get the rest mate 👍👍 haha you can't tell the other half "everything" as it would be an instant problem 🤯🤯🤣🤣 those 2 limited 4ks are sensational Tobias!! Don't worry your secret is safe with me bud!!! 🤫🤫🤫🤣🤣 thanks again Tobias 😁😁👍👍
Fantastic video John 😀🍿🎸🎶 Great choices there man; OMD’s ‘Dazzle Ships’ was a grower for me aswell; ‘Architecture & Morality’ my fav album of theirs 😊 Sex Pistols are class; I really need an upgrade on the ‘Never Mind The Bollocks’ as my copy is battered 😱 Need to give Mogwai & The Dickies more of a listen; really liked what I heard by them in the past; Mogwai’s ’Come On Die Young’ album is great 👍
Cheers Sam 😁😁👍👍 Dazzle Ships was like a real curve balk at the time!! Couldn't get away with it but it does massively grow on you 😁😁👍👍 the new "boolocks" sounds brilliant mate 😁😁 sometimes Mogwai albums need a lot of repeated plays to get into them, when I'm rebuying them on vinyl and giving them my full attention I'm hearing tracks in a new light that I'd previously thought Mehhh!! They are the gift that keeps on giving 🤩🤩🧔👍
Wow!! Amazing Rob 😱🤘🤘 a band I was in were going to do a three album deal with Neat records back in the day but it never came off 🥴 great bit of info there Rob!! Neat and Kitchenware summed up the North East for me bud 🤩🤩👍👍
Hi Lisa 😁😁👍👍 Darren has great taste (as you yourself has Lisa 🤩👌) have a lot of respect for Killing Joke, they started off a lot of things that have shaped music for many years!! True pioneers and if they don't do anything more they have left behind a huge legacy for sure!! Thanks for watching and tell Darren he's got style 😁😁😁🤘🤘
@kaydoubleyou6203 I remember there being a big line up and Andy McCluskey spinning around as if he was being electrocuted for most of the gig Kevin 😱😱😁😁👌👌
@@MondoChelloveckMovies I have a lot of Breeders content on my channel, as well as a second channel specifically for Pixies content (in case it interests you at all!). Really like your channel, nice to see someone talk about some lesser known films. Definitely picked up some releases due to your videos!
@90sArchive I'll get over to your channels mate, I do watch a TON of music on RU-vid on my TV so I'll definitely check that out 🤩🤩👍👍 thanks a lot for saying that bud, appreciate that you enjoy the weird stuff I put on 😁😁👍👍 thanks again, I'm at work today so I'll take a look tomorrow 🤩🤩👍👍
The original members of the Sex Pistols did get back together and tour in the 1990’s. I’m not sure they need to do it again. I was a little disappointed with the Dickies first two albums. I like them but the record label over produced their sound. The records don’t come close to how good they were live. I saw the Misfits live twice. I saw Samhain live once. I bought the first Danzig album and jumped off. It was too Metal for me. I checked out Metallica because of the record Garage Days because they covered Misfits and Discharge. There are lots of Misfits bootlegs that have come out recently. I’m not sure if there is any band that I have everything.
Yeah Ritchie, I think the 3 members are narked with Johnny Rotten after that Pistols documentary, and he spat his dummy out with the whole affair, I do think if bands splinter they just need to make up if they play again or just play again full stop! But how many bands have done this before Ritchie? 🤯🤣 The Dickies are a band to see live, you're right there! 👍 wow! Cool you saw Samhain 🤩🤩🤘🤘 I liked Danzig till around Danzig 6 then the songs went a bit stale for me Ritchie 🥴🤩 Metallica are huge Misfits fans, got to thank them as I might not have known about them if Cliff hadn't wore all their shirts 🤩 The Misfits really need to put out their discography in a sensible manner for me Ritchie 🤔🤯🤣 it's hard to physically get everything by a group or artist, but it's fun trying !! Cheers for commenting Ritchie 🤩🤩👍👍
I do Stephen 👍👍 although I'm struggling to think of any in particular at the moment mate! But if I hear good electronic music I'm drawn to it 😁😁 do like industrial metal as well like Ministry etc 🤩🤩🎹🎹👌👌
