I am interested in getting Funeral Home myself, the '12' rating does not put me off. I managed to buy the 2019 Hellboy on 4k from eBay for £4 with slipcover, it is OK but has too much poor CGI and is pretty forgettable and most of the humour missed the mark for me.
Piked up a nightmare in a damaged brain 4k with slip and book and butcher baker nightmare maker with slip reverse sleve 4k on severin. Just pre order dawn of the mummy special edition treasured films
TA is probably my fave Italian imitation of The Exorcist and I believe Aristide Massaccesi (Joe D'Amato) supplied the cinematography if i'm not mistaken.🤔 The above film's female lead, Carla Gravina was rather easy on the eye in the excellent Eurocrime classic, Tony Arzenta, too.😘 Gene Simmons was also suitably memorable in Runaway and Trick Or Treat.👍

That 101F PIV is a solid release for sure but the VS UHD/BR edition is superior. Those EC comics are vintage brilliance and well worthy of repeated readings. Back in the '90s, I definitely once owned an issue with the same cover as that of your book.👍
A lot of people say Phase IV is a great film John so when Dave sent it 🤩🤩👍👍 I used to have a few back in the day like that so that was another amazing gift!! You're right about these comics mate!! I used to paw over them a lot 🤩🤩👍👍

Nice gifts and so glad you got some gems for your collection. Horror comics are a slight passion for me after reading so many tales of suspense comics in the 70s. Later on I discovered Warren and its vampirella range until I moved back to marvel with its morbius and vampire tale magazine line. Tomb if Dracula drawn by gene conan I have near a full set in comic form and of course they were reprinted by marvel uk in 1975 as Dracula lives. Great memories. I agree tron needs a 4k but being disney I am not holding my breath. Excelsior sir

The artwork is amazing 👏 I remember the stories being really creepy as well 🤯😁 never read Vampirella myself, did enjoy Spiderwoman though 👍 I collected most of the Dracula Lives and also have the full Monster of Frankenstein comics!! Just love all that stuff 😁😁👌👌 yeah this whole thing with Disney not putting any work into curating their back catalogue is really annoying to say the least 🤬🤬 think ill watch Tron soon, it's been to long!! Some great stuff this time John. Love Tron and Tron Legacy. I have Tron on blu ray with that slip cover, the Uk 2 disc blu ray of Tron Legacy with slip cover and just bought a US 3D blu ray edition of Legacy with a really nice lenticular. Hope Tron Ares is going to be good, apparently Nine Inch Nails are doing the soundtrack this time. Would have preferred Daft Punk to be honest. Take care mate. Gaz.

Me and my girlfriend have been to see three movies at the cinema this month. Alien Romulus (which we thought was a solid entry in the franchise) Deadpool and wolverine (which we thought was amazing!) and Longlegs (which we didn't get on with at all lol)

That's movies for you, we all have different tastes, i know somebody who loves Plan 9 from Outer Space, a film that most people think is the worst film ever made. Do you know if the film, The Ghoul 1975, staring Peter Cushing and John Hurt, is out in Blu-ray. It might be a Hammer film but i could be wrong about that. I do love your channel, your given me good ideas about what to add to my own collection, at the moment only on Blu-ray.
Yeah totally agree David 🤩🤩👌👌 plan 9 is legendary for all the wrong reasons 😵💫😵💫 but it never fails to entertain 😁 The Ghoul (I've just been informed in my comments) is being held to ransom by whoever owns it and is asking daft money for it!!! So unfortunately it's in that horrible place of limbo that no one wants to hear 🤯🤯🥴🥴 a company called Tyburn produced it but it really feels like a Hammer film David 😁😁👍👍 would love to see it released myself bud, saw it many years ago on TV 🤩🤩👍👍
Hi John, I would try and get The Fall guy now mate as they have accidently stuck the 4K in with the Blu-ray or try and have a look at the discs if you see it in cex. I was nearly tempted to get Fall Guy from Morrisons on blu ray as I've heard it's got the 4k in!! Knowing my luck it will be corrected 😱😱 would you imagine that all blu rays would have that 4k disc in? Can't go wrong for that limitless card by the sounds of it matey.. I saw the original Quiet Place at the cinema.. and like you say a good unique experience.. heard mixed things on this Day One so probably one I'll watch on Firestick initially then buy physical later down the line if I take to it 😎👍

Furiosa should have done so much better at the box office. George Miller is abit of a genius, loved it! Really dissappointed by Longlegs, didn't like the Cage performance and the story didn't make alot of sense. Yes, they tried to mix genres between police procedural and supernatural horror but it simply didn't work for me. Plus you could see every reference as plain as day. Would much rather revisit Silence of the Lambs. Hopefully Perkins will make a better film in the future.
I really hope that Furiosa gets back the majority of it's budget so George Miller can continue this series if he wants to!! 🤞🤞🤩🤩 I agree it's odd that it didn't do more as its a really decent film!! 😵💫 Longlegs definitely divides audiences, I can see why someone could not get away with the film Ed 👍👍 cheers for watching Ed 🤩🤩👍👍
@@MondoChelloveckMovies absolutely! George Miller is a visionary. The absence of Tom Hardy was a tough one to sell to audiences but perhaps it will make some money back in the Blu Ray/4K market. Good films generally make a comeback at some point. It's simply too good to ignore. Longlegs was genuinely a mystery for me but they did a great marketing campaign which really hyped up horror fans. Although personally I think we should expect better from horror. I'm a big horror fan and this one left me completely cold. Pity because I was looking forward to it. Have you seen Cuckoo? Intrigued by that one.
@EdLo3 I would have appreciated it if Max was in more in Furiosa for sure!!! Its a shame that that didn't happen! If they make more I think they will have to include Max, I think the public has spoken about that one mate 🤔😁🤩👍

We went and just saw anything we fancied Andy, great to be able to do that 😁😁 i was talking about the mask the other day!! It was a true "moment" of cinema!! Its funny of your not familiar with the Wolverine character you would have let that pass you by, but if your like us, it nearly floored us 🤯🤯🤯😱😱😱😱 just a perfect film Andy 😁😁👏👏

Yeah there was a lot of them early 70s Dinosaur films (we saw them all at the Cinema on a Saturday morning 🤩) I'll be picking these up as I had a real fondness for them Christopher 😊😊👍👍
I think you either love or hate the stuff that Vinegar Syndrome Paul, the slips are something else, so if you're a fan of their output it's a perfect match Paul 🤩🤩👍👍

I've only seen a couple of Amicus's films, but they've all been pretty good. Dr. Terror's House of Horrors, The House That Dripped Blood and The Beast Must Die are the top dogs of their output of work. Their Anthology (Portmanteau as you called them) films were a big key to their success in the long run as it allowed multiple smaller tales that fit either a common theme or an arc story. Italy was the king of the Tragicomedy Anthology film while Amicus was the king of the Horror Anthology film. What I really liked about them was that they gave Peter Cushing much more interesting roles when it came to the Horror genre, not that Hammer did bad with what they gave him, but I always felt like they treated Cushing with a lot more respect than Hammer did, especially after the Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed debacle. Even Christopher Lee got the better roles more often from Amicus than Hammer, I often think Lee's best film The Devil Rides Out only got made cause Hammer was afraid he'd lawyer up to get out of his contract with them. Hammer may have had the license on the Univeral Monsters, but Amicus told the much better original stories. Take care my friend, hope you and the Debs are well, and speak to you soon.
I absolutely ADORE The Gorgon. The indicator releases are gorgeous! Just cherish the hell out of them. It’s a slight shame however that they aren’t all under the same distribution company. Cause it would be wonderful to get some proper official Hammer sets with a proper sense of uniformity.
Yeah Hudson me too, even though you don't see her too much her presence is felt in the film and it petrified me as a kid 🤯🤯😱😱😁 I really hoped that Studio canal would have done the whole lot 🥴 can't beat a uniform set mate !!! Cheers for watching Hudson 🤩🤩👍👍
Nice Hammer collection there John, some very cool films. Christopher Lee and Peter Cushing were the Kings of Hammer. I'm still slowly building my collection, but the titles I do have I really enjoy having. For me, Hammer's best stuff was the late 1950's to about 1972, the last two good ones in my opinion being Blood From the Mummy's Tomb and Dr. Jekyll & Sister Hyde, the quality seemed to lessen after that. I used to have that Mill Creek double feature of Curse of the Mummy's Tomb and The Revenge of Frankenstein and also the double bill of Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll and The Gorgon, but I sold them both because the audio quality on Curse was extremely poor and it hampered my enjoyment of the film a little, so I didn't even bother checking out the quality of The Gorgon. Indicator has a 2 for 20 GPB sale going on, so I'll be picking up their editions of Curse and The Gorgon as I do enjoy both films. Frankenstein Must Be Destroyed was a low point in Hammer's history from what I've read. Peter Cushing strongly objected to the scene where the Baron assaults a woman and Hammer unfairly fired him over it. Cushing was never bothered with playing villains or morally ambiguous men, but he felt that one scene was too much, even for a bad guy, and I respect him all the more for that. I know I've said it before, but Hammer's Mummy films are some of my favorites, the time period setting and the moody atmosphere when the mummies are brought to life always ignite my interest and imagination. It's strange Hammer only did three Prehistoric films, One Million Years B.C. in collab with Ray Harryhausen and Prehistoric Women looked very good, had to be a budget issue I imagine. Taste the Blood of Dracula is surprisingly the only Christopher Lee Dracula film I can watch over and over again, the others for whatever reason just don't have rewatch ability for me.
