I would have to say the 2016 Bespin DLC was my favorite update in the game. So many good memories of playing those maps over and over the entire summer. I think an underrated update for BF2 was the Age of Rebellion update, due the fact that it gave us new blasters for the standard infantry classes!
I have my opinions about how DICE handled a lot of things… but one think I’ll always be grateful to them for was how they revolutionized how Ewoks are viewed culturally. I actually remember a lot of people hating Ewoks when I was a kid, but the way they presented them in Ewoks Hunt and BFII in general really “made them cool again.” Hope you’re doing well Elliot, this video reminded me of a lot and even taught me things I didn’t know. I didn’t realize that was the deal with the Bo rifle, it just kinda showed up from my perspective.
Imo one of the best DLC in Battlefront history was bespin with the views of the maps, the guns with the EE4, sabotage everything about Bespin was perfect
The scarif update for battlefront 2015 and the geonosis uqdate for battlefront 2 are tied for 1st for me. I have a lot of good memories for both, scarif I probably played the absolute most during BF1s life span because it had my favorite maps and same goes for geonosis update in BF2
I liked all of them but my favorite must be the Death Star DLC on Battlefront 2015. There´s something about that 3-stage mode culminating with the trench run that made it so unique and special. So that when I had the pleasure of talking with Dennis Brännvall on Celebration at Chicago I asked him to bring that mode to Battlefront II :D and he was very nice replying me. So thats a good memory
For me, it was Bespin DLC. I loved the maps, the game modes, and the feel of it all. Played it tons; I still go back and try to find a game of it every now and then to this day.
I have a lot of good memories with battlefront 1&2. But my favorite update from both games are the Bespin update for bf1 and the geonosis update for bf2. They are both fun on the holidays btw!
the death star update is ny fav for sure flying an xwing those crevasses of the death star and actually being the one to get the last hit and blow it up was such a good memory
I used to play video games so much, battlefront was my childhood, I miss it so much and all of the creators as well, I hope in the future we get another huge SW multiplayer game, one that brings together everything that came before it, thank you for this video!

Great video Elliot! Personally, I would have swapped out the Bo rifle and Ewok Hunt updates for the 2016 Bespin and 2019 Capital Supremacy updates, but good list otherwise!
All 4 DLCs for Battlefront 2015 deserve to be on this list, tbh. They all provided more and often higher quality content than any single Update for Battlefront 2 ever did. And thats most certainly because you had to pay for them, but god damn the content was good!
I will never forget the hype around the scarif dlc in the first Battlefront. Man did i love that dlc so much. My favorite and most played dlc from the 4 in that game. And other personal favorite updates of mine were the introduction of capital supremacy and those new reinforcements. That geonosis map is still my favorite map in that mode. That arc trooper is my favorite reinforcement. Also that rise of skywalker dlc was an absolute joy to experience too the hype around that dlc in the community was fantastic. And those new reinforcements were so much fun. Plus those bb droids lmao. And my final favorite update has to be the ewok hunt one. My 4th favorite mode. Strike coop missions and capital supremacy beat it. Oh and whatever update introduced the coop mission mode. Man do i love that mode, its just so casual. Anytime i just wanna play some battlefront wind down and have some fun shooting droids, i hop on that.
Glad someone appreciates the bb units, bb8 is my highest hero at lvl 185 now and bb9 just hit lvl 100. Both are excellent to play, you'll get better over time with practice. bb8 can clear a whole room if you start your scan/scramble to give yourself cover (and enemies take more damage when you use it), then use your charge to the middle of the room or knock down a person, then open up your cable spin with the upgraded cards
I followed your channel during all of these updates but didn't get to play the game until the celebration edition. Awesome work by the Developers on both of these games so much passion was posted into 2015 BF and SWBF2. Great video!
Man I love this video! Great to reminisce with looking back at these. I think Geo Update being at 1 is a testament to the comeback BF2 had, and unfortunately many turned a blind eye too bc they were mad about the loot boxes from the year before. Man, it was epic tho. It is Battlefront szn lol. Every year around september I jump on bf2 and play it over the fall and winter. Especially late November and December is the best. It really is a Star Wars season. This has happened to me every single year. Still an amazing game and I love to tryhard it. Nostalgia goes crazy.
My only favorite update was the giant clone wars update for battlefront ll. It was awesome to get heros such as obi-wan and anakin and count dooku etc. Thats where i thought star wars battlefront lls content was at its peak.
I'd have to say my favorite update was in July 2020 with the Battle of Mustafar Update. Seeing Ahsoka Tano and Asajj Ventress in the game, alongside such an iconic planet rendered beautifully in Frostbite, was a rare bright spot in 2020. I also enjoyed the full Capital Supremacy update for the OT Era. There were so many new weapons and reinforcements in that update. I'm so glad EA stuck with the game and continued to support DICE in their efforts! *twitch*
Yeah that video of yours where you show off the new update changing the shock troopers to the royal guards is super nostalgic for me now for some reason. That update was sick.
I loved all the content they added and it is so amazing how much content they put into this game. I have trouble finding a favorite, but I personally am grateful for the less popular content like the Outer Rim DLC, BB update, the Kessel mines, Felucia, and (RIP) jump-pack cargo. I am so glad that all of these places get a place to shine in the games, as I doubt a lot of these will make a return when EA and Disney inevitably return to the franchise. I wish in BF3 (when it comes out in the next decade) there was a few more return maps from BF1 and BF2 compared to BF2's old map selection, and I miss the Rouge One heroes, and I hope there is a more even spread of content across the eras throughout its life cycle and at launch (It launched very OT heavy with pretty much no ST or PT, then had some more ST and OT, then only PT for over a year, then a bunch of ST for 3 months, and finished with unfinished OT content, so it was very lopsided with no hint of what or when other eras would get some content). Also I really hope fighter combat plays like Squadrons because that controlled and played amazing
It would have been great if Battlefront 2 received seasons and updates that were really rich in content like those received by Battlefront 2015, in which each DLC came with at least 1 new game mode, skins, weapons, heroes, cards, several maps, etc., you could say that The update of The Last Jedi and Geonosis was the closest, but in general, it seemed to me that Battlefront 2 should have received its updates in a more organized way, excellent video bro :D
For me the 4 2015 DLCs and Crait are the best updates. 2015 gave us quality content filled DLC drops that were missing in 2017. Crait is the only DLC that compares to those and it’s likely because they worked on it pre launch and still had the bulk of staff.
Dooku update was by far the best for me. The two month or so period before Anakin nuclear-blasted the game’s balance was pure bliss. Dooku was one of the best characters in the game, the Clone skins were incredible, and everything was balanced and largely bug-free. Best period to play the game during. Second would be the TROS/Celebration Edition update, just because of the influx of players and the great feeling around the game (and imo ST Capital Supremacy was the best)
I think the only Update that I would’ve included that you didn’t is the Bespin DLC from BF2015, other than that I think you hit all the major updates for me. Putting Geonosis as #1 certainly rings true for me, I still remember my friend and I freaking out in a car ride home as he pulled up the livestream of Dennis announcing Obi-Wan, Grievous, Geonosis, etc. As for whether Battlefront is a Holiday game for me, yes it is. Star Wars games in general are for me bc I got a lot of them for Christmas, and the timing of releases for the games and movies like you said. I’d also say Battlefront games are comfort games for when I’m sick as I played them many a time when I was home from school with a cold. Good times.
man the dlc updates for BF1 were awesome. Loved watching your videos and the developer streams/reveals. Such a great time for SW fans. Too bad Disney killed it.
BF2015 was by far the best SW game ever made. The weapons and game modes were awesome. BF2017 was such a rush job and no effort put into the game modes at all such as the always empty Hero Starfighters.
The geonosis update is easily the best one. Ignoring the launch fiasco the last Jedi season was really fun too. Crait and Geonosis are still some of my favourite maps. The supremacy update is underrated too and should be here too...
The battlefront two updates are always sad because their game got so much hate at launch that it never recovered from and the devs fixed the parts that were hated almost immediately then kept making the game batter but it still never recovered in the gaming world so it died dispite nothing bieng wrong with it past the first couple months
How many of y’all would pay a subscription just for continued live service of battlefront 2? I know you could put me down for like $5 a month if it meant we got new maps hero’s weapons etc.
