One key thing I wish I knew as a beginner is that my opinion on fragrances will change as I progress through the journey. Notes I hated become loved and fragrances I loved become disliked or never worn. It’s an ever-changing living organism. It’s okay to hate a fragrance and revisit it later down the line. You never know, you might just love it
Wow! This is the cleanest, simplest, most handsome George I've seen in a while (even though the video is a bit dated!). I can almost smell the fragrance you are wearing man. And most importantly, I love this simplistic list that gradually picked momentum, from Light Blue Intense to Ombre Leather. Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Albeit much below your Fragdos (fragrance kudos) I would have included for beginners - L'eau Dissey, Dylan blue, Blue jeans, PR Invictus, CK Shock, Vera Wang For men, Zara Gourmand leather. That is just a few from my collection but what do I know, I am just a humble collector. You are fast becoming more knowledgeable and intelligent than our Ferrari driving German friend. I have the utmost respect for you and what you know. I doth my cap to you young sir
Lee Hession this guy makes fragrance reviewing both interesting and easy but believe me it’s not, I never miss this guys uploads so glad he’s now uploading regularly, he’s definitely an inspiration for me 😁
@@2ScentsWorth yeah he is immense is George, I have just started following him. BTW have you ever tried Gourmand leather from the high street store Zara. I am wearing it today and the whiffs that I am getting is really enjoyable, it only cost £10 so you can be trigger happy and keep re applying... It is imo immense.
Thanks for this (Sauvage free) list. Wished I saw this a year ago, before hopping on the hype wagon and bought (for instance) allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme instead of the original Homme Sport.
I blind bought Eau Extreme like an idiot based on the premise (and seemingly unanimous RU-vid opinion) that it was better than Allure Homme Sport. It's nice, but nowhere near as good or versatile as the original. What a let down!
My collecting started watching "beginner" top 10s and top 10s in general. Soooo much simpler back then. dracdoc had a train track outside his window, Redolessence sat behind a small table on a stool. I have absolutely lost track of how many choices we have today. Thank you for bringing this!
Good info and nice list. I'm very much a beginner, and this list was a great watch. My first purchase was a bottle of The One which I found at a discounter after watching a random fragrance video. Remembered the name as I saw in in the store and picked it up. Have been hooked since then. My next was Prada L'homme for work wear and now, I've ordered a bottle of Gio Profumo three days ago. I'll be using some from your list to get a decently well rounded collection to start with. Thanks
Perfect video for newbies George. BTW, just purchased a 55" tv with beautiful color and clarity, and you look fabulous. Those who previously gave you a hard time about being chubby and having thinning hair are fools. Really enjoying the recent releases that you are putting out.
You are the only 1 in 100s that like Allure Homme Sport the best while the others like AH Eau Extreme and they say it is the best ,but my opinion stands right about Homme Sport ..Your scent glans are perfect because that may be my very fav of all time when the batch is mixed just right with that creamy aquatic orangey scent ..There is nothing like it...
I've actually been sailing the cry-seas for quite some time now, what with all the blind buying. So many successes that I just tear up. Some really excellent choices here George. You were instrumental in helping me come around to Ferragamo Uomo. Now I just love the juice to death. Disclaimer - don't drink the juice.
Great list brother, loved the aesthetics of the video, so refreshing. My fragrance journey started with Gautier Le Male and Cool water two legends in the fragrance world. I would love to try Rochas fragrance on your recommendation. Keep up the good work.
Love all this new content! Could you possibly do a list of your favourite dark/ challenging fragrances? It's interesting you saying you found Tuscan Leather a bit harsh, I was just telling a friend it was too sweet and soft for me haha
Beginner, mid-range priced, solid mix of scent genres from my collection: 1. Guerlain Habit Rouge EDT or EDP, 2. Tous Man Sport, 3. Azzaro pour Homme, 4. Houbigant Fougere Royale, 5. Dunhill for Men, 6. Lalique Encre Noire a l'Extreme, 7. Rasasi LaYuqawam, 8. Mugler Cologne, 9. Boucheron for Men EDP, 10. Acqua di Parma Fico di Amalfi, Honorable Mention: Trussardi Uomo
Hello, great video. I’ve been wearing Blue de Chanel EDP & Parfum for a while and looking forward to Allure Homme Sport. Now the burning question is should I get the Eau Extreme version or the one you mentioned. Please help me out 😊
Armani stronger whit you Armani stronger whit you intensely Versace Dylan Blue Azzaro wanted by night Boss botled intense edp Dior sauvage Edp Dolce Gabana Light blue intense Rochas Moustache edp 2018 Rasasi hawas Roberto Cavali Silver Essence what do you think of my collections? thanks.
You should try allure Homme sport eau extreme I had allure Homme sport but I sold it off to get eau extreme and I never looked back eau extreme is way better it has more depth and kick to it !
Loved the idea of this one George. Can see it becoming a tag and going round the channels if you are interested in that kind of thing. P.s. I couldn't tell if at number 9 you were trying to do an impression of Arnie or Jeremy???
Amazing frags on this list! Quick question, do you have a particular method for storing your fragrances and or preference? These UK temperatures have me worried the last few weeks of just storing frags on a shelf in a 30 degree room 😂
Yes George ! Awesome stuff. I would definitely say this is a solid beginners list. Perhaps I'd include 24Gold by scentstory as #11.. Bring on that advanced list! Thank you for all the work you put into producing videos! I myself have been thinking lately to start filming/uploading my fragrance journey. :)
I would say, Versace Dylan Blue. Jpg Le Male, Paco Rabanne invictus, one million, dolce Gahanna light blue, and the One edp...oh also Bentley intense...I'm thinking price, for legit brands....
I'm a beginner I'd say been wearing designers for a long time but have become interested in niche so maybe a beginner niche/indy list would be cool. Also ur video abt Mandorlo di Sicilia was great. I've only got decants but that and Fico di Amalfi as well as Arancia di Capri r great but Mandorlo is def way dif so it was so helpful to know that ahead of time. Thanks.
you might get that almond note from uomo, as it is meant to resemble tiramisu (not all but some recipes use amaretto as the main liquor in the dessert, and amaretto is derived from almonds)
Excellent list. I'd replace La Male with Luna Rossa but it's just me. More modern and elegant. Your fanboyism for AHS isn't exaggerated, only those know who owned that fragrance. Not Eau Extreme, not Edition Blanche. Just Allure Homme Sport. Also putting Ombré Leather at the tenth spot is a nice touch.
Love your work mate. Im a beginner and surprising to me i have 5 on your list and a few others on the wish list. Would love to see a list for the more mature man, say 45 plus. Luckily where i live fragrances arent a big thing so i often get asked 'what are you wearing?', and ive been able to get away with some younger fragrances. Have just bought a cpl of creeds, tabarome millesime and royal oud. Would love your opinion. I will say they make me feel very gentlemanly and mature when i wear them. They did break the bank a bit tho, so if you do a mature list could it be a bit more wallet friendly and cover all seasons please. Got yourself a sub too, as i said, love ya work.
This is one of the best videos by far Try to do same thing in the future Also try to compare to others And find similarities as some of us have a similar
Bad Choices for me. I think that for beginners are Joop GO, Invictus, Police To Be, Azzaro Chrome, Davidoff Cool Water, Nautica Voyage, Versace Men eau Fraiche... TF Ombre Leather is no for beginners!!!
What is better? Lots of designer fragrances or a smaller set of niche? If latter, what do you recommend as max 3-4 niche fragrances that covers all seasons & most occasions?
Thank you for not bringing up AHS EE. The EE is a weird, powdery, sweet alternative to the sophisticated and penetrating masterpiece that is the AHS EDT.
I just blind bought a cheap fragrance....it's called Burberry Brit For Him....(beginners blind buy/impulse syndrome) It made me smell like an old man who had just climbed out of a seasoned hospital bed and then bathed himself in baby wipes, before raiding Grandma's makeup bag and drying off with her powder pad. I had to spend the day with a dry down smelling of Budget Baby Wipes, Grandma's body powder and trace elements of Economy line Fly Spray......never again will I take the risk of the beginners blind buy syndrome......maybe you should send me that phycology book that you mentioned.
Soon as I clicked I was thinking mugler cologne should be on the list. If only it could smell like it used to back in 2002. If I ever hit the lottery having mr. Morilias himself recreate the scent in it's former Glory would be on my list of things to do.
With all do respect , but Sauvage is million miles ahead of Chanel Sport , this is just ADG of the 2000 decade - very high quality juice , very long lasting and crowd pleasing, but so generic, that became boring and uninspired .Even the big citrus part is as natural as polyamide. But each of it's own Thanks for the effort.
For some reason your way of saying aqua di gio remindedme of barbara palvin’s way of saying it.Now I dont know how I feel about myself and the rochas that followed certainly didnt help
i love ferragamo Uomo.......fuck now everyone who watching this will want to buy it......i hope it doesn't turn into joop in the 90's where we smell it everywhere.

@@TheRealBrook1968 Dude! This is a very cool list! :D Yes, Habit Rouge! I'm actually doing a review Tomorrow on Mon Habit Rouge Taillé sur Mesure. It'll be interesting. : )
