thats knife comes from tops a well known and respected knife brand. they dont go cheap and yes the finish can be inconsitent but that doesnt have anything to do with quality
While it is definitely what you say, and is additionally a click bate video. There were some pretty good blades in the video. Tops knives are pretty good knives. While personally I like Benchmade knives the most.
@@craze4legos Never used either brand so I have no opinion on them. I use a Jaakaripukko or Martinnii fixed blade with either a Boker or EKA pocket knife.
The most important peice of bushcraft equipment comes from a dollar store. Seat belt cushion covers. Pop them over your rucksack shoulder straps on those 2 to 3 days trips when your carrying a heavy pack, a bit of extra padding👍
Not only did that dude ruin the edge on his axe, he totally ruined the heat treat. No excuse to strike your ferro rod w the edge of any knife or axe. Oh and you eat thru your ferro rod much too fast. That ruined the whole vid for me, lol
It would screw up the edge for sure and that made me cringe, however it wouldn't be hot enough for long enough nor widespread enough to effect the heat treat. I always use the back of my knife (90 degree spine) to strike a ferro usually with the pullback method it uses bigger muscles than a factory striker (so you can do it even with cold fingers) and you get great hot sparks and fire in one trike if you prepare tinder correctly/
This just a (Badly) edited video of manufacturer advertising... The thumbnail is also deceptive, as I was interested in seeing the 2 Sheaths on the knives in it, but they weren't even featured... There's no commentary other than the manufacturers during the segments, there's no form of review to this... I'm surprised you have not been hit for Fair Usage and Copyright Strikes... Take a downvote...
@@mlopezrossi Thank you... some one else on another comment told me who the maker is... I have already joined his Facebook group and spoken with him... :o)
The teton backpack isn't terrible I've used mine for many years, but the velcro back adjustment will come unstuck after a while nothing a zip tie didn't fix
Titan, if your going to sell some gear get people who know how to use the gear. No one who has a clue how to use a feroceum rod would strike it like their chopping wood, not only is it not effective it's good way to loose a finger and to drastically shorten the life of your feroceum rod.
I always remember to pack my 20 pound cast iron survival skillet with me on my long backpacking trips. I am making a personal recommendation to everyone who has ever gone on long trips over steep and rocky terrain to never forget your cast iron skillet. These skillets double as cooking ware and a survival weapon. You never know when you will need to kill a bear and then cook it.
Something you didn't mention is a good Merino wool blanket. When people are found dead, its mostly from lack of shelter. Frozen or roasted to death. Point is a good blanket can protect you from the elements so you can focus on finding help, water, and food.
It's not a How To video, nor is it a Review Vid... it's just some schmuck tacking Manufacturers Ad vids together (badly)... Sorry you got taken in by this as well...
It doesn't have to be merino wool it can be any type of wool including recycled wool as long as its ~80% or greater. Also one can easily construct a shelter and insulation from materials in the woods. A blankey can be useful though.
Next, back pack survival is a bit to temporary for me. Its great for a car or plane crash where you want to get back in to civilisation. However, after two weeks of back pack survival you just want to go back home and have a beer in front of the television. In contrast, I believe the best bush survival gear would suit a four wheel drive. This kind of survival last for years with no need to return home. Therefore, does this shop have survival gear that you would use when you have driven ten hours deep into the jungle. I can have one of the survival back packs in the boot in case I break down and need to walk out to the highway.
not rapidly, itll take some time to do some patina, then itll come rust in few hours, im a knife maker BTW, if your begging into knife making, look for hardened stainless steel its probably the best. hope ya find this useful
because of its lightweight and short handle, a hatchet is the most dangerous tool to carry! better yet is a machete and folding saw for building and wood processing IMHO from experience
Like Brat Brat says the one on the Rucksack looks like a MoraKniv Robust Grey\Black Handle, standard green sheath... as for the 2 other knives in the Thumbnail, I don't have a clue and they're why I watched the vid... then left a critical comment and a a downvote as they aren't featured...
I saw a review by PREPAREDMIND 101 and I gad to have one, but it's pricey, $204. I bit thd bullet and bought one thru Bladehq. You will not be disappointed. It is so awesome in any aspect, I could not put it down. The kydex sheath is surprisingly good, & it's incredible that it's included in the price. Buy El Chete once, cry once, then enjoy it the rest of your life. It's that excellent.
Sorry, but if you are going to spend 200 for Hatchet or 230 for a Machete... That pack is total Walmart POOP... For the money, you could not beat a legacy Arcteryx Acrux (40L or 50L) off Ebay. I mountain climbed, and used everything from a full McHale Dyneema (this is the best and most durable pack in the world, they are over $1000) backpack to the Arcteryx Acrux. Dollar for dollar the Arcteryx Acrux is the best. When I first got one, I thought I might need to put some Cordura on the bottom for an extra layer of protection, if you use the pack responsibly, it isn't necessary.... Even the ones for sale one Ebay that have been through hell and back look good and are fully functional. And if you can't swing a Full Dyneema Machale pack, if you hunt around, you can get one of his old Cordura ones... which are super bomb proof. I've gotten them for as cheap as $100... used them for 3 years and resold them for $200...
The special 25 degree grind means you will be carrying multiple solutions one for the normal 20 degree and for the TOPS 25 degree grind! I have TOPS and they make a great products but you will need to have a solution to maintain your TOPS blades beyond the conventional 20 degree grind!
That "Titan Survival Gear" surely knows how to make it sound like an average product of theirs, that you can get the same but cheaper, somehow is super superior to anything. I mean, if you already are carrying a fishing hook like that around with you, you can carry some damn line as well. And you are already carrying paracord, there's no need to have it on your ignition steel as well.
I don´t know why you propose serial made knives and your cover photo has two hand made excellent survival knives from Joao Alexander Voss (a really talented and respected knifemaker from Brazil), is for get people intrested? Did you properly thanks for the image you took? or point who is the maker?
I use a phillipino polo machete I picked up in P I in ' 75 . they made them out of the leaf springs of old cars and trucks .hasn't let me down yet . I paid 2 dollars for it and it has a waterbuffalo horn handle .
Just a bunch of advertising created by the various manufacturers or importers. This guy is making money (a kickback) by advertising for Amazon. Honesty or integrity about the products is not a requirement.
Cast iron? really?! sure, for camping, but bushcrafting? maybe, but most would take lighter cookware over cast iron. i love it, but would not carry that stuff in my backpack. and using axe for striking ferro rod? madness ! i'd also like to point out that thicker blades aint fun to use in cooking or anywhere where precision is needed. i love my beckers, but i carry 5.5" old hickory as backup for those fine work (that and few moras and opinel folder :D ) . . .
A lot of issues with this video. Starting off at #1. Hudson Bay does make great products, but nothing with a wood handle "Lasts forever". In fact, only 2 or 3 items on this list have the potential to "Last forever" and that's only if you take excellent care of them (such as cast iron).
I do not like paracord. I carry a 15ft climbing rope, a pair of 3 foot long climbing rope prussic loops, various pieces of cotton, or nylon clothes line, a bit of bank line, and always have my fishing kit, with its braided fishing line. I carry a Mora companion, and a Mora robust. a 20in wetterlings, a laplander folding saw. My fishing kit, thats always with me also has a pair of game sheers to make life easy, and a multitool. I also have a tool roll thats not always with me, That has a froe blade, a 1/2in and 1in auger, a draw knife, and a few chisels.
I never understand paracord, poeple where always so hyped about how great it was but when i actually tried using it for a while it sucked. Was a pain to cut since you always had to singe the ends immediately to stop it separating and it stretched alot and knots you tied in it were pretty well permanent.
Finally. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-jkSAdxkGOaw.html you will find the link in one of the replies to a similar comment. Due to some problem, I am not able to send the main link😔.
I don't understand why people do this. Why don't you put all that crap inside the pack? Is it because you like the way it looks? Is it because you want people to see all your gear hanging off the outside of your pack?
Been looking for reviews of products for camping/B.O.B. mine was stolen when my home was burglarized. looking to build a new rig. thanks for the video and subbed too!
Lol you were burglarized because you are daft. Pay attention to the dozens of comments about the video. The products are shown as a advertisement. The guy is even promoting amazon which is one of the banes of the American economy. Don't be a sad old sub bub
The best Ferro Rods for the buck are the Bayite 6" x1/2" rods (w paracord lanyard n crappy scraper) that can be found for between $4-$8 a piece. if you are willing to look around. EBay, Amazon etc. There is no need to spend more than $10 to get an excellent Ferro Rod.
Over $140 for a hatchet, $200 for El Chete and $100 for a small knife (overlander2) No thanks!!! I mean they look good but I rather go to my local blacksmith and see what knifes I can buy from him.
Dang it must suuuuuuuck to be a marketer when a ferrocium rod comes across the board. "uh, like, I guess... I mean shit, it's a firesteel. They're all made of the same stuff, fuck it, uhhhh hey I got it! Put a whistle on the handle, that'll show our competitors!" Meanwhile, the guy in the factory that stamps out the rods that all different companies sell: 🤨
One don't cut toward yourself while cutting some mil-spec twine Two don't strike a firesteel with a blade unless you are practicing refinishing the blade Three don't buy gear from one of the banes of the American economy, amazon. Ebay is superior Four don't promote items that strictly apart of a commercial Five don't put on clickbait
Hi. Gute Auswahl an Gegenständen. Schönes Werbe Video. Es gibt aber auch wahnsinnig viele und sehr gute Ausrüstung außerhalb der USA. Manchmal lohnt es sich den Horizont zu erweitern.
Because this channel doesn't actually Review... they just tack Manufacturers vids together (badly)... I gave it a downvote... think I'll even report it for not featuring the stuff int he thumbnail...
Pretty much like the last guy said the two great looking items on the thumbnail one of which I'm actually in the market for are not even on the video. all it is is other people's commercials there are no reviews and there's not even a countdown like it says top 10. Lame lame lame
