Oddly enough my Citroen C2 has been carrying me around perfectly, I got the VTS so it's not slow,range is good and for its age I feel it still has some nice features,well compared to some of the cars on the list that is,aftermarket features have also been added and done properly to,but then again if I wanted to buy a new car I think I'd stay with the fiesta or the Hyundai,lots of potential

The 4 door sedan version of the Nissan Note, the Nissan Versa, is the cheapest car in the US and comes with an enormous trunk and a back seat with room for full size adults and is therefore the best selling car in the subcompact class.

this list doesnt include the deposit you have to give in and for how long the loan is.... irrelevant... the number 10 in this list is actually the best value, as it's loan is 3 years only and NO DEPOSIT! none of the other cars mentioned have this...

Exactly I wanted a cheap to run basic city car to get to work and keep the miles off the diesel MPV. Panda was by far the cheapest £99 deposits £99 a month.

+Skampo1119 Don't, i've had one, had numerous problems with it and when it came to being repaired, ford said every single time that the warranty dosent cover what had gone wrong, absolute arseholes really id suggest the nissan note or the seat mii tbh

You're basing these prices off a HUGE upfront deposit. E.g. the Seat Mii with a £3255 deposit is just crazy, you could get a Seat Leon or VW Golf for less than £150 per month with a deposit that big.

I think Skoda Fabia need to be in first place. It have good engines, it cheap and cheap for run, it comfortable, fabia combi have much place for items then other cheap cars, and it look very very nice, maybe better then more expensive cars. It's just my opinion. Sorry for spelling mistakes, i not good english :D

I've driven a Nissan Note in the U.S. from a rental car company and my co-workers, who also got the same car, and I think the Nissan Note is an awful car. After two hours of driving your back will start hurting and you will need several massage sessions afterwards. I will not buy it and I will avoid renting it.

I had the same experience, after dropping my alfa off at the garage (yea yea yea) me and my dad got a rental car, it was a note and fucking hell, it was just pathetic. He had to drive it as the UK I had ridiculous laws that you can't rent a car if you're under 25 (I'm 22), as if a note is more dangerous to drive than my own car. We were both laughing, it felt like top gear with me saying "go on, put your foot down" and he's like "it's been on the floor for a while now" haha

100% agree, it might be good value, but it's a horrible car. Those ranked 2-5 are much better.

I personally like it, but I have to say that I drive the 72kW supercharged petrol engine and have the top-spec trim with better seats and better chassis and bigger alloy wheels. That changes the cars character completely and it is not slow anymore. If you get that nice trim, it is pretty much a VW Golf for less money. But the standard petrol engine is really slow, don't but that version.

Just came across this video, had it from new fitted with the CVT box (2014 model) now done 70458 miles no problems with the CVT, only faults to mention, new battery 4 years ago and a front suspention bush for my current MOT December 2022

People who are after cheap cars tend not to have a £3000 deposit so the seat mii at £69 is misleading. If you have a big enough deposit lots of cars every car could be under £100 per month.

I've just had the displeasure of driving a 65 plate Nissan Note for 10 days. The footwell is small, the pedals feel numb, the gearstick is too low down even if you lower the seat and the 1.2 petrol has almost no power so it isn't economical on a long run. Granted it is spacious and comfortable and the engine note is nice, but I found many of the controls to be counter - intuitive and the build quality to be rather disappointing. Hopefully that's the last time I ever drive one.

I agree. Nissan Note is a horrible car. I bought a 1.4 CVT and could get rid of it quickly enough. Cheap nasty (Renault) build quality. I would sooner catch the bus.

+SeemsLegal it's not just the budget nature. It's that given any budget there are always better options. If you were given £10k you could get a new i10 or a used MX-5. It's all just a matter of priorities, and all these cars show that people's priorities are practicality, fuel economy, and being easy to park. The most boring aspects of a car.
