I personally never liked the idea of Kirin and others like Yamatsukami being grouped up with the Elder Dragons. Kirin especially behaves like a Kelbi, so it should be grouped up with the latter.
Alatreon will always be my number 1. He really felt special back in Tri and I always knew I was in for a fun, difficult hunt against him. Breaking those horns was ridiculously satisfying.
I love the lore of elder dragons I hope Capcom adds more "story" to these godlike creatures tbh Also ur list is awesome even after 2 years it holds up amazingly dude! Pls make more lore vids if u can I really love them
That you for the complement! And if you want more top 10 videos, I'll put it back on the list of videos to make. I'm currently running out of videos to make so I guess these will do well in the time between now and Iceborne
Not an elder dragon but in 3 ultimate I️ had a broken R button so running and fast swimming was awful. I️ actually have lagiacrus ptsd some times when I️ jump in water even just for a few seconds in monster hunter world.
@@yorukage5926 they had some troubles with the leviathan skeleton, they said that the neck looked weird and said that they won't make leviathans for world, but let's not lose hope, iceborne is there
It might've been mentioned somewhere, or just theorized a bunch, but I always thought Dire Miralis and the Fatalis were the same being. "The same" being literally the same. Fatalis is the only Dragon that we know can regenerate beyond the grave, as shown with the ever regenerating Giant Greatsword made from Fatalis parts. In order to prevent the rest of the body from regenerating, a Fatalis, presumably the one where the Giant Greatsword originated from, was thrown into an ocean/volcano so that it can stay dead. Instead, the Fatalis corpse adjusted accordingly and regenerated around the magma surrounding it, pretty much making it into an entirely new Monster (and we know MH evolution can go a tremendous rate, since Deviants were originally born the same as their original Species). It then needed to regulate its body temperature because the ever increasing magma would overpower its regenerative capabilities. I wouldn't be surprised if there was some truth to this story, as Elder Dragon intel doesn't go far due to the danger (most of what we do know are either myths, like Dalamadur, or revealed through intense research, like the Shagaru Magala). Althoughnit could've just been an excuse to use the Fatalis skeleton without actually adding the Fatalis (which the 3rd Gen was all about. Barioth, in Tri, was basically just Nargacuga+Ice. Alatreon used Kushala/Teostra and even borrowed their elements for its respective phase. Amatsumagatsuchi was put in P3rd to use the Leviathon skeleton+movements without adding in water combat). Unrelated, the whole 3rd generation seemed like it wanted to replace the old monsters with more creative designs due to hardware limitations slowly becoming a non-issue. Although the 4th Gen was filled with returning Monsters, the 5th Gen looks like it's doing the same as the 3rd Gen but with much less limitations due to not being on a Wii or Handheld system. I hope this home console exclusive thing doesn't stick, as in not ditching portable titles since portability was always the best thing about MH. Though with the Switch being portable, I hope they make a MH with the Switch in mind (MHGU is a port of the 3DS MHXX, so all it really has is HD textures, more details on foliage/etc, and other non-gameplay intrusive improvements. Being a port that would've been playable together in the 3DS, they couldn't allow the Switch version to be different gameplay wise. Imagine MH3U HD except the 3DS version never being localized). :)
Not trying to start anything or spread hate, i did enjoy the video and agree with a lot of the elder dragons and their placements, but holy jeez my dude with the name pronunciations lol.
when I was a novice hunter, I went into chameleos mostly blind....I HATE IT SO MUCH FOR That DAM TONGUE STEALING ATTACK (other than that it's a cool monster)
The thicc boi Fatalis in MH Freedom unite its VERY strong, because it doesnt matter if you have a very good armor, if one of his fireballs hits you or if his tail touches you while he is moving, its a INSTAKILL. After 30 attemps to kill him i finally won, but jesus christ he is OP.
cuck souls An apparition based solely on the lack logical understanding to how things come to being. Kinda like how if you were to go back in time and show primitive man a flashlight, you'd probably be worshiped as a god of light
Julio Dumenigo And those elder dragons aren’t really on the level of power as the ones of the past. Are we really gonna look at Teostra, Kushala, Kirin, Xeno, Shara or Vaal and say they were hard fights? And those are the elders Nergigante is eating? Not a very hard dinner. Also nergigante isn’t difficult at all...not even a little bit, in case you haven’t noticed there’s an event where we’ve been raping him in tempered form for almost 2 months with no issue. And don’t get me started on Zorah. He’s a slow walking mountain with a lot of HP. A straight up fight with zorah without that goddamn bridge bs mission wouldn’t be hard. At all... Like Lunastra is the only somewhat annoying, not difficult, elder. Safii is pretty decent but he’s only that tanky cause he’s a siege. Take off the 25 minute timer and he is just like the rest. His only real threatening ability is his land devestation he does when he stomps the ground. Naomielle isn’t difficult, that’s just a very different fight. She has a lot of environment manipulation which tbh is kinda fun but still does not make up for the fact that her power scale is nothing compared to Lunastra. And Lunastra isn’t exactly on the level of even the decent Elder fights like Amatsu. Like if any of you are having difficult problems with any of these monsters then I’m pretty sure you should redo your builds and stop bum rushing them or just uninstall.
Julio Dumenigo although story wise remember all the elders nergi Eats are either weak are weakened and coming to the nw to die. Remember how we killed Shara and then nergi came to finish him off? Also if your looking for a real eater of elders try duremidura.
Although alatreon is elementally stable the lore was that hunters would hunt him before he would be capable of his next transformation. Any time we would hunt him its usually on the time where he shows signs of new elemental energy forming which would mean you as a hunter had to stop him before that happens. Its why he cant be repelled like all the other elder dragons. Well dalamadur amatsu, and gog i believe cant be repelled but thats just 4 out of how many elder dragons that are out there. I respect dalamadur for his concept i still believe there could be more to the fight that can feel new and iconic as a hole. Like i think dalamadur was a perfect opportunity for capcom to try something new and interesting to the AI or map design or something theres so much you can do with him. If anything i would want to see him make a return in mhw and with something new
Im not a hardcore on monster hunter series but when number 1 comes i laugh so hard..... Not becuase i know its not an elder dragon but because i hear the video like this : "Coming in number 1 we have the strongest elder dragon of em all U Can Lose (then video paused)" xD Take me around 5 minutes to realize its ukanlos lol, nice video btw Note : i was in a train and because its too crowded i put the phone on my bag and end up only listening most of the video
The only monster hunter that i played was World so i can't say much, so if i was going to take my favorite from there, Kulve Taroth or Nergigante would be my choice... but when i saw the MH aniversary size comparsion, i must say that i got amazed by Shagaru Magala design and i would love to see it in World
Just did a reaction video and its uploading as I type. I AM BEYOND HYPE!!! The hype overload hit me after i finished the video so my adrenaline is up to 11 right now lol
Kushala, Chameleos and Teostra are related? I only really played the PSP versions so I am not sure about new lore and stuff, but I think I only remember teostra/lunala being a thing. Morphologically kushala and tesotra would fit though, except for the head
Related in the same vein as the 3 starters for Pokemon games. It's a Rock, Paper Scissors thing. Teostra Fire beats Chameleos, Cham poison beats Kush, Kush Heat Resistance helps beat Teostra
Dire Miralis is a close relative of the Fatalis, being the reincarnation of one or so according to the lore of Monster Hunter. Why didn't you include him to the Fatalis family?
No respec for Lao Shan. The first Elder Dragon you fight in Monhun history right? I know you fight Kirin before him I think but come on, Kirin ain't no dragon.
fun fact : teostra always does his supernova 90 seconds after going into rage mode, unless he's doing something else in which case he'll do it straight after
I know it doesnt but there is a long story as to why I do what I do. It's mostly out of respect for someone that means alot to me. It also sounds a bit "hurr durr" and I find it distasteful, So I changed the name a bit.
Regardless it's a Flying Wyvern and classified as such. So is Akantor. Calling it a Brute Wyvern wouldn't make sense either because it's not a theropod dinosaur.
It's classified as such because it's related to Tigrex (even uses the same skeleton model) although very distantly and it has vestigial wing membranes that are barely there. It also doesn't have any mammal-like reptile traits so it is not a synapsid and so it can't be a Fanged Wyvern either. I don't know why they didn't make it a Elder Dragon but they didn't.
Constructive criticism. Since you're not doing live videos where we can see you, it would be wise to write out and read from scripts. You're stuttering on some words, and missing some others completely, is extremely hard to listen to at times. Do multiple takes if you need to to get timing down. Good luck man! Videos are decent at times.
Because he is a pacifist unless provoked and really isnt actually that strong as far as the lore goes. I should make this very clear that this is based on the strength of the monster in the lore, not my personal opinion
Your right was pretty much the first giant elder dragon we see in strength maybe the weakest but it left an impression on me to continue with the series so for me its number 1
