Great list. Those raised base plates look so cool. Lego needs to bring back old generic themes like Lego castle, pirates, and space.

It feels like they are testing the waters with those themes... for example, Lion Knights Castle and the Medieval Town Square, the Eldorado Fortress for Lego Pirates... and Space seems to making its return this year! But I think I know what you mean about the themes coming back... it would be nice to see some smaller and sets that work with each other (and maybe even an narrative/storyline with them)

6090 is also my fav Lego castle. Royal and fright knights are best castle factions imo.

I think that right now we are living in the era of the absolute best castle sets that lego has ever produced (and not just castle sets) - castles of the lion knight, mountain fortress - absolute tops, blacksmith medieval, medieval town square, even a small creator castle 31120 - never in its history has lego created better castle sets. When I was a little boy - our parents didn't have enough money to buy me lego sets (I only had a box of bricks and that was enough for me to play with), I don't think I missed anything - when I imagine what kind of castle sets they are producing right now. And this does not only apply to castle sets - pirates - Barracuda, Eldorado (absolute top), space - Galaxy Explorer, other great sets - Vikings Village type, plus bricklink designer program.

I completely agree! Lego has continued to innovate and bring us bigger and better sets. Just looking at the piece counts of older sets... they are tiny compared to today 🤣 Lion Knights Castle is gorgeous 😍 but I can't help wonder how it'll compare to Lego Castles in 10, 20+ years time!

@@SecondBrickToTheLeft That's exactly what I'm saying to myself, where else can Lego take it? It's already huge in size, detailed and construction techniques amazing compared to old sets, maybe more moving parts, robotics, light show. But normally my wallet is not enough, so many great sets are now available - this year two more rounds of the bricklink designer program (The Art of Chocolate is an incredible set), next year I hope at least one of the two frigates will be for sale via bricklink (already only the top ships fall short of perfection).

Agree with 6090 as best but 2nd is 6086 and 3r is 6085. I've got them on my shelves and I know what I'm talking about. We can argue of course but first marry me girl ;)
