I am a local and I think you hit on a ton of great points. I have mostly lived in first-tier suburbs myself and I think all of the ones you mentioned are two - four suburbs from the city. Some great first-tier burbs are Saint Louis Park, Richfield and Roseville. Another great one that is further out, but very accessible to the freeway is Shoreview, which is much more affordable than North Oaks, but still in the vicinity.

I live in the NE quadrant of Minnetonka (east of 494 and north of Hopkins). You're really just describing the western half of Minnetonka (and, really, Excelsior, Greenwood), which everyone does when they describe Minnetonka. But the eastern side is much more affordable, has much better shopping, and is a much better commute. And the city services are still excellent. We love it.

@LivinginMinnesota
@LivinginMinnesota 2 года назад
Hey Rodrigo! So Realtors have to be really careful about steering people to/from an area by defining things like crime rate and schools, for different legal reasons (Equal Housing) and not wanting to stigmatize any area for better/worse. That said, I've actually got a few videos on those three topics which you can check out on the channel! Look in the "Moving to Minnesota" playlist. Hope that helps!

I agree until number 1. My dad has lived in CR since 1989. All my younger siblings went to Blaine. It’s better now, but notorious racist city. More poor whites, I’ve never heard of a million dollar house in CR. Not good access to Mpls only 252/610 . Next due to Blaine, but 2 different cities completely. There’s absolutely nothing in CR. You have to go to Blaine or Anoka or north town which is weak Mall. CR is not even close to any of the other city’s. That’s why the housing is cheap there. Nobody wants to be there. It’s still very wite trashy. People mentality hasn’t changed. Even tho it’s has gotten a lot better as far a diversity
