In this video, I will rank the best bosses I have ever fought and the way I rate them is with 3 factors: Challenge, design, and enjoyment. Challenge is not how difficult the difficulty of the fight but rather how balanced and fair it is based on the progression. Design is the creativity of the bosses which includes sprite, visuals, and creativity of the attacks (Visuals will add less to this value because attack creativity is the most important). Lastly Enjoyment is just how fun I find the bosses to be.
All the footage are in nohit because I really enjoy doing nohits.

To me as long as the mod boss is balanced with its progression, Thats good enough. Really love the modding community. Extra points for those with lore and fun content with innovative design, great video btw this has much effort and research.

A little upset that Yharon's phase 2 music wasn't mentioned, it sounds absolutely epic and when you really look in depth at the lyrics you can see exactly how amazing it fits into the lore as well as the truth behind some of the words. Although I suppose the fact that there was an amazing pixel art of Yharon in the Yharon arena makes up for that

I recently did a Calamity/Redemption mod playthrough, and along with King Slayer III, Omega Obliterator was the one that actually made me feel alive again. 10/10 experience!

I just turned mine into a hollow cube big enough for me to never go out of the arena and turned the jungle ground flat and with slopes...

Any of the split mod bosses, especially Seth. His sprite is cool, the attack patterns are fun. the only issue i have is the insta kill heat snaps attack is poorly telegraphed

Y'know, for a mod like calamity which is often said to feel like a different game than vanilla, a lot of its bosses sure do seem to be mostly slight modifications of fights already in vanilla. Weird how you needed to say "Okay guys, Yharon is like duke fishron, but he's not duke fishron, okay guys?".

That one guy if he existed, who wasted 200k attempts to defeat Yharon: Finnaly, after 2 f*cking years I beated him! Earned PTSD, and was not worth it though... Challenge is 375/20, Design is 39/40 and enjoyment is -1/40. (Throws PC out of the window) (Insert a joke about "The fight you cannot win" here)

I agree their visuals are godly, but when you analyze the fight deeply, the mechanic is way too simple to be considered amazing. I look more towards gameplay and prioritize visuals less and gameplay wise Split Mod bosses have A LOT of flaws.

I feel like ecipixie was one of the best on this list, it's such a tightly woven boss fight, it's not hard borderline bullet hell, it's not something that requires a ton of dying and redoing to understand the moves (with the exception of maybe the one where they split into two) and all in all it almost feels like a good substitute to empress of light for modded terraria for me.

Honestly i didn't really struggle against Yharon at all I killed both of his phases first try (before and after the upgraded solar eclipse) But the fight was stupidly intense and fun

not really, OO is great, but if you're considering pre 0.8 rework KS3, neb, vlitch cleaver, etc then definitely not, i would put them on there post 0.8 though
