Been an Indians fan for 31 years now, and that Naquin inside the parker is still my favorite of all time. I replay it every year, just awesome. Sucks that they just gave him away, he had such a bright future.

I was just a kid in the 90s, so most of my earliest memories of the Tribe are from 98-04. But man, 2016 was a special year. I like to think that’s what the whole decade of the 90s felt like

You simply can't put a moment at number one when they didn't even win the game. I know it says a ton about heart and fighting spirit and clutchness when the stakes were at their absolute highest and has all the sentimental value in the world. But they still lost the game. It's a list of their greatest sports moments ever. I can't put a loss at #1 all time. For any franchise. Don't get me wrong, I think it belongs on the list, but I'm fine with it as 10, might even go as high as 4 or 5 with it.
@TheMothdemon
@TheMothdemon 6 лет назад
If we had won that cold November night id agree but that moment now to me is a punch in the gut knowing one inning later the MLB screwed us over on a rain delay right when we had the momentum and would have walked off to win the World Series
@intsoccersuperstar1
@intsoccersuperstar1 5 лет назад
I'm with you bill, great moment but you just can't put a moment that didn't result in a W on the ultimate pedestal. Now had the Tribe won that game, that HR would join the pantheon of great homers. Wouldn't have been a walkoff but it would be very difficult for me to put it anywhere other than in the tier immediately below series-ending walkoffs (just behind Mazeroski's homer, Joe Carter, and The Shot Heard Round the World)

I was at Game 7 in 2016. Let me tell you....as a lifelong Indians fan, that was by far my favorite moment as a fan. I can't describe that feeling. Yes, I know we lost. But if you remember the game leading up to that moment, it was pretty disheartening. We had been trailing since the first batter of the game except for a brief period I think in the 3rd when Santana tied it up 1-1. We got down 5-1 at one point. How many times do you see a team rally from there? And to expect it against the best team in baseball that year? Hope was already lost before we had a chance to even get deep into the game. It was extremely depressing. Then all of a sudden, Guyer's RBI double brought a slimmer of hope. But no one expected anything to come of it. It was almost like false hope. Then Davis hit that homer out of nowhere.....wow. It still gives me goosebumps every time. The stadium absolutely lost it. People including myself literally jumping around like madmen. No possible way of controlling yourself. I can't remember another time in my life where I've acted like that. I honestly can't....except for that night...in that moment. One of the best moments of my life.

This is a great video. I'd probably slot Rajai's homer higher and move #2 to #1. That comeback against Seattle was on a level of incredible we'll probably never see again. For sheer pandemonium in the park, Albert Belle's grand slam in game 3 of the '96 ALDS is up there near the top 10, too. It's amazing how my favorite moments as a Cleveland sports fan are dominated by the Indians, even though they haven't quite delivered a championship. I remember naquin's walk-off. We were down 2-1 to start the inning, me and my dad were watching, and we were very mad when Santana struck out to start the inning. Now Jose is up to bat. He led the league in average with RISP so I say "Jose is pretty clutch" I can't even finish the word clutch as he hits a non out to right. Me and my dad celebrate as Jose trots the bases. Now Naquin comes up, and hits the ball hard. I go crazy as I think it is a HR. As soon as I see it drop, I think how cool it would be to get an inside-the-Parker, so I'm still freaking out. I can't describe the feeling that went through me when he came in. All I can say is, I will never forget it.

But between 74’ and 93’ we had a few good teams. 82’ staff of Blyleven, Denny, Waits, and Sutcliff finished 6th but the team was decent. The stadium was a problem. It was a horrible place to see a game. Jacobs Field is magical. It all changed for the good after it was built. Even though we were 100-44 in 95’, it wasn’t until we won a playoff game that we felt the monkey was gone.
