I agree with John on Dune. It’s in my Top 5 movies of the year & I really enjoyed it. But I had very high expectations for it & I can’t necessarily say they were met. But nevertheless, it was such a beautiful looking movie and I had a really good time with it.

This past Saturday, I finally saw "Spider-Man: No Way Home"....in the Theater, and it was AWESOME! I've only seen a some of these movies, most of them I didn't see until they came out on Blu-Ray. Great list man, been such a long time since I've watched a "Best Movies" list.

I would watch enter the dragon instead of shang-chi! No way home, snyder cut and dune were pretty epic Dope list john!

I would also have Spider-man and No Time to Die 1 and 2. Great video!

Happy to see No Time to Die and Quiet Place 2 on someone’s list. Absolutely loved NTTD. Surprised you didn’t mention how awesome Hans Zimmer’s score was for it. I think that’s why i loved it as much as i did. And obviously he killed the score on Dune as well.

I feel the same way about Dune. Don't think i've ever been so dethatched from characters in a movie in my life but it was fun to look at and hear them speak about the spice. Not sure why other reviewers didn't point this out like you did. The characterization is kinda horrible. Still very excited for the second part!

My top 3 is the same as yours except I would NTTD 1st, though NWH is a close 2nd. Both were brilliant visits to the cinema. Quiet Place Part 2 could have easily sucked. However, although not quite as good as the Part 1 it is a worthy sequel and the 2 together are definitely going to make a double feature for me at some point this year :)

No Way Home was awesome! Enjoyed the Snyder cut. Love Hard was a good Christmas movie on Netflix!

If I did count it for 2021, it would be in 9th place.

Enjoy the content! People may not be aware that the first Dune book was published in 1965, and to me, the only real way to get a handle on the story is to read the first 4 books. It's somewhat of a difficult story to bring to the screen (I see a lot of comments about lack of understanding the movie) and it would really need the kind of treatment like Lord of Rings/Hobbit series to bring the details to life. Even so, the book has 45 pages of extra appendices and an extensive Glossary of unfamiliar terms - it's not a casual read. That said, the original movie made me wonder if Anyone Actually read that book. The second production tv-miniseries (with William Hurt) was a lot better at staying true to the book, but I can honestly say so far I've only got through half of it (and I own it!). Maybe I'll slog through the rest in 2022 and then go see if they've made any progress with this new release!

No Time To Die was the best film of 2021 for me. Never knew Stallone did a re-edit version of Rocky IV

Nightmare alley and Last night in Soho are great and deserve more love from this year.

It's not a movie but the best thing I saw all year was a limited series on Netflix by Mike Flannigan called Midnight Mass, if you've not seen it it's the most amazing thing Flannigan has done to date.

I haven't seen Dune yet, but I plan on it. No Way Home is definitely my movie of the year. Shang Chi was a nice surprise as well, as I nearly skipped it. Free Guy and Ghostbusters Afterlife were good. Suicide Squad was okay. I thought the Snyder Cut was 4 hours of slow motion vomit. I despised it. Just my thoughts.

Didn’t like A Quiet Place but enjoyed part 2. Also thought Spider Man was alright. Dune was good but rewatchability is very high imo. Justice League was surprising as was Changi Chi. My movie of the year would probably be The Green Knight or The Last Duel.

I feel like I am the only person who thought "No Way Home" was just ok....I didnt really like how they made Dr. Strange bend over backwards for Peter's demands, and I wanted to see a new villain come in at the end. It felt like time paused in the other universes after their movies ended because no other villains were referenced.

I'm torn between West Side Story and Annette. I prefer the former but the latter is so dang weird. And I love weird. Dune was probably my 3rd favorite but I credit the experience to the score and sweep of the thing rather than the individual parts.

I personally didn’t vibe with No Time To Die. The movie was kinda excessively long and the villain was pretty bland and dull but yes it was a good conclusion to Daniel Craig’s character as James Bond. I still prefer skyfall over this

Hm the Duel just look boring to me. If it has dragons, I would have run to the theatre. Generic medieval movies are a tad dull. Besides, no eye candy in the leads Hahaha.i am kind of agree with you about Dune. Quiet place part 2 is lack lustre compare to the first one. Spider-Man is game changing 😜👍
