Yeah, I started out with playing the second game of the Resident Evil franchise as well. I was 9 years old at the time in the year 2000 and my older sister her boyfriend introduced me to the franchise he happened to have a copy of Resident Evil 2 he brought it over to our house and we took turns playing it. The first encounter with the licker & and the zombies reaching through the boarded-up Windows when you go through the corridor of the police station scared the crap out of me as a kid.

I love how you show the scenes in the game with Claire A & Leon B scenarios like the canonical version❤ “Re II MAN” was handwritten on a burnt cd and I played it 8 years old, I was so scared.. that first licker scene scarred me for life! I also remember how I couldn’t make it through the first street where you re surrounded by zombies from the get go.

Great video as always, the environmental storytelling of the RPD station is indeed a great part of the game, and yes, it does have the best music of the series, but I would say Code Veronica is a close second!

Great list for a great game. One thing I always loved was the footsteps sounds in the lab. I love the echo they have and it's a shame the remake didn't pay attention to such good sound design.

Yes, yes, yes. My beloved RE2! I remember how hard my heart was beating when I walked into the RDP basement, when I was first attacked by birds, when I entered the factory to the tune of the Marshaling Yard... So scary. RE2 save room theme will always be the musical definition of the series for me.

First introduced with the demo given with RE1dc. Of course I played it after finishing RE1 and it had a big impact, seing the whole city becoming like what the Spencer Mansion was.

Well you're not wrong about re2 original having the best soundtrack. The tracks are absolutely iconic. It was even nice to play this soundtrack over the re2 remake and it's amazing how it still fits. (Only downside is you have to pay around $2 to $3 for it but still)

Very good video, keep it up. RE2 was also my first RE game Here is my list and there order i like (also opinion of your opinion): 15- 4 survivor. I like it but i suck at it so i dont like that much…i am glad you like it 14- Zapping system. Good mechanic. 13-NPC: I like it because the give a sense of suspense and complements the eerie environment. Memorable 12- Files, Not the first but its always good to know the lore of the city because i complements with re3. As child i was intrigue by the lore of a zombie infested city 11- Exploring. Like any game, exploring rewards you with secreta, easter eggs and admonition…and getting what you need to go forward (key items) 10- Environment. Its because it gives you the chills and keeps wondering what may encounter next, enemies or jumpscares or Mr X 9- RPD Station. ICONIC and perfect for giving puzzles 8- Cutscenes. Maybe the first survivor horror with scaring and suspense scenes. I was the first in the series i can give you that 7- Goddam LICKERS, they scare me the shit at me, when one appears in just freak out firing mad at was infront of me. Fun fact: I play like 5 or 10 times before the licker because it keeps killing me, so i run like a bitch. Keep wasting ammo 6- ADA AND SHERRY. You described it perfectly. 5- SOUNDTRACK. Memorable and always give me nostalgic feelings to revisit the RPD 4- CLAIRE AND LEON. You described perfectly 3- JUMPSCARES. Especially Mr X and the lickers. I always feel insecure and paranoid because you don’t know were it going to expect. I made me jump from my city and doing it at dark in the night in your bedroom. 😮 2- AB SCENARIOS. You said perfectly. (Also it keeps you playing for hours and they are unique in they own way) 1- BOSSES. BIRKIN is so terrifying and has a espectacular design but mr x was more scary and more difficult to beat and the end of your campaign. (Also give me jumpscares)

RE2 was my first and still my favorite. I would swap 1 and 2 on your list as the Scenario's being so different was my one big complaint with the remake. Even if they didn't carry over the zap system, having to do the same boss fights in the same locations pulls away from it being one continuous story.

I also loved re3 save room as well but re2 has the best overall ost in the franchise. Listening to that music playing outside the rpd when you meet a zombified brad was just too much. The remake was really great but the original is the best resident game so i totally agree with this list.

some are very small. But I'll do my best to list them off of memory: 1. Machine Gun or Side Pack 2. Cord / Window Shutters 3. B.O.W Gas 4. Door Scanner Requiring 2 Finger Prints 5. Method Of Killing Alligator Determines If You Fight Him Later 6. Marvin in B Scenario If You Don't Kill Him The rest are extremely minor 7. Special Key From Brad automatically unlocks it for scenario b 8. Vines in Lab are dead if you killed them in scenario A, but are alive if you killed them in scenario b 9. Alternate Costumes that you where in scenario A will automatically make both characters where the same alternate costumes in scenario B. As said in the video, most zapping system elements were minor which is why it ranks at number 10 and not higher. However the first 4-6 ones are the more interesting situations that provided some additional decision making moments for the player.

@@NerdSpaceGames I have a Resident Evil idea I would like to pitch to Capcom... You know how the prototype version of Resident Evil 2 that being 1.5 has received a massive fanbase amongst Resident Evil fans over the years? And many gamers have done modifications to that game despite the fact it was never actually released except for in Japan with the demo version? Of course the game did get leaked to the public in 2013 and gamers, Resident Evil fans and modders have going out of their way to recreating the game by working and fixing some of the bugs and patches and whatnot is still ongoing, with various patches being released... Anyhow, obviously the Elza Walker character got reworked on and transitioned into Claire Redfield but what if Capcom could capitalize on the Elza Walker characters since she has such a cult following and actually make her part of the franchise and keep her original story. If you're familiar with 1.5 which I'm sure you are is that Elza Walker who's already a resident of raccoon City arrives to discover that raccoon City in its entirety is now the sight of a zombie apocalypse and you know how she crashed into the RPD police station? Well keep that original idea but have it to where the police station that she crashes into what was going to be a newly developed police station for the RPD. And the zombies that she encounters in what is supposed to be newly developed police station are police officers, security guards, and construction workers turned into zombies due to the T-virus outbreak. And... While she's there she also discovers that at that newly developed police station that that's where Billy Cohen from Resident Evil 0 was being held prisoner. Say he eventually got apprehended by the RPD and Chief Irons ordered him to be held prisoner at the new police station and that would explain why it's heavily guarded with police and security. Not only that, but Rebecca Chambers herself disappeared after the events of Resident Evil 0 & 1. So perhaps to play it safe you could say Chief Irons could have issued an arrest warrant for Rebecca Chambers because she knew too much. Like the other stars members. So she too is being held prisoner at the newly developed police station along with Billy Cohen. Because nobody knows what happened to either one of them during the events of Resident Evil 2 and 3 and 4 and Code Veronica for that matter. And a reference that they can put into this game could be the fact that the police station itself is not 100% completed. Much like the prototype version of Resident Evil 2 that being 1.5 Yes, it's already been announced that Capcom is working on a ReRe remake for the 30th anniversary of the original resident evil.. like 20 years ago in 2016 they released an HD version of zero and the 2002 remake which was exclusive to the GameCube. Only this time it's going to have enhanced graphics with the re game engine that being third person over the shoulder. And yes code Veronica is definitely a must that deserves a remake Capcom keeps going back and forth with whether or not if they're going to remake that one or not because they haven't made up their mind. Hell maybe they can even bring back that scrapped Man spider b o w that you fight in the underground lab in 1.5
