Truly great that you mentioned both the Parasite Eve and Fatal Frame franchises, and I agree with both takes. Both Parasite Eve and Parasite Eve II are my favorite games of all time, nothing beats them for me. But I agree with you that PE2 is the better game of the two, despite also agreeing that PE has a much better and more complex story than its sequel.

Great list. The only thing I disagree with is DS2 being scarier than DS1. I slightly perfer part 2 to 1, but I think DS is def the scarier of the two.

I might be in the minority, but I really think Alan Wake 2 wasn't all that good. I mean it was decent enough and some parts like the musical ad shit were pretty well made, but overall it felt way not enough like Alan Wake and more like everything else. Sure you can explore a story from the inside and the outside as they did, but it had the same problem Last of Us 2 for example had for me: You get comfortable with one side and suddenly you're forced to play as the other person and you're pulled out of the story and that's something you should avoid with a very story driven game. At least I couldn't handle the switches well.

What’s different about the two sides is that after Alan’s first section, you can stick with one person’s entire story all the way to the end and then do the other to avoid messing with your rhythm. That’s how I did it my first play through and my second I tried playing it back and forth.

@@NerdSpaceGames I remember that had to switch at least twice, from Alan to Saga and back. Maybe I'm just being sensitive about, but I didn't like it. In the end it's not bad, it's just not what I wanted or expected the game to be.

Great list! I more or less agree with all of these choices (even if I've never personally been the biggest fan of System Shock 2). You should do a list for the worst horror game sequels as well. That will be a fun list!

For me the best horror game sequels that are only 2nd installments: 4. Resident Evil 2 3. Parasite Eve 2 2. Dino Crisis 2 1. Dead Space 2 *Never played others mentioned in video. Now if not limited to 2nd installment then: Special mention to Alien: Isolation as part of the Alien franchise covering games and movies 10. Resident Evil: Revelations 09. Devil May Cry 3 and Onimusha 3 08. Clock Tower 3 07. Silent Hill 3 06. Parasite Eve 2 05. Dino Crisis 2 04. Control (Technically part of Alan Wake IMO) 03. Dead Space 2 02. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis 01. Resident Evil 4

Now that I think about it, horror is the game genre that makes the best and most iconic sequels compared to other genres. I might be overthinking it, but horror sequels in games are even better than in cinema.

Nah it’s hard for me to do specific game list videos on the channel unless it’s resident evil. The audience usually doesn’t show up. I’ve tried evil within and silent hill and neither videos in those franchises did well. I love Corpse Party though and the new one slated for this year is one of my most anticipated horror games of the year!

Alan Wake 2… my favourite game of all time, it feels like it was tailored to my tastes. Didn’t think anything would knock Resi 4 off the top spot but here we are. Silent Hill 2 was an amazing first playthrough earlier this year- can’t wait to try the remake

You guys are close but no cigar. Resident Evil 2 was the shiznit. Silent Hill 2 was awesome, we get Pyramid Head. Plague Tale 2 blew away the great first game, extra points for having a bad ending. These are the top 3. Evil Within was better first time. Dead Space also. You guys smoking crack or what.

Good picks... I loved both Parasite eve 1 & 2, I enjoyed PE2 slightly more though, but I highly disagree with you to put Alan wake before RE2... Alan wake 2 has a good mechanic and graphics ...overall It's a good game but has major issues in terms of story and it's pace is slow as hell ...
