@@ainatzgr7145 There are also survivors that you can't buy with shards because they're licensed. Also, not everyone wants to grind for 1000 hours to get all of the shards needed to unlock them or wait for the perk they want to go into the shrine. DBD is pay to win and basically punishes those who don't.

@@jarosawpsikuta187 i got 12k in a week of playing. Shrine of secrets is also a thing and 500 auric cells is very cheap for a character

There's a problem with your build. First, which is not a big of a deal, doing gens together is inefficient even with prove thyself. If you split gens, not only you do gens faster, but you also spread pressure and the killer can't deadlock/pop/DMS+pain res one gen and stop it from popping, or just come by and disturb both of you, while splitting gens will only disturb one person, and will not hold 2 gens at once. The second problem is, you try to group up with team (bond, prove) to do gens. You want to stay hidden most of the time with distortion, however, there's an extremely big chance that the teammate you are with right now doesn't have it, so HE will get revealed, and the killer will find you too in the result. Deja vu is decent for newer players or to locate areas of possible 3-gen and destroy them. So if you see a gen with deja vu but go for the one which is not shown on it, consider going for highlighted gens because 8% speed bonus is cool, but you also want to prevent losing a way in a 3-gen.

@@broylerchicken2675 Good points. Most of the time i run with a swf that also have distortion so we are usually hidden. I take off deja vu a lot for we’ll make it or built to last depending on what im doing. Also usually if the killer contests our gen they will only see one person on it so i can move slightly away if they take chase and finish the gen. If im trying to gen rush i usually run built to last, hyperfocus, stake out and prove with a commodious

@@theobscured_one oh, I thought you are playing solo. Well, swf allows for some ridiculous build opportunities and perks, which solo-q doesn't, but still makes more sense. The point you made on distortion gen chase is valid, however there are cases when it'll fail. First, if the gen is quite in the open, for example, most of the gens on Dead Dawg Saloon. You pretty much can't hide quickly, because it's too open. Also, if the killer has discordance, you are screwed, and now killer also knows you have distortion and will check for gens with no auras, will check for other people around a gen. Also, sometimes, if the killer is smart, he can recognize that you couldn't have made so much gen progress by 1 person, so he will check for others. Your gen rush build is pretty good, though I would still use streetwise instead of prove, because if gives you 75% more of your toolbox uptime, pretty much another almost full toolbox for free. Prove thyself is good when you need to finish the last gen so you double it, but other than that it's always better and faster to split gens.

If you truly want a second chance build I'd swap prove thyself for dead hard, then you can also avoid a hit

Yea I love distortion. It saved me from a lightborn user when I tried to go for a blind, as they also didnt get my scratch marks or aura

Seems quite decent, however I strongly disagree with better than new peak. The only useful speedup it gives is healing, which you should be doing, and that's just 16% for the whole perk slot. I'll suggest a few perks that can replace it for better experience: -No one left behind (general perk): after all 5 gens are popped, you get massive unhooking and healing speed. So even if the killer is camping, you can save and not be dead instantly. You'll still need a hit from someone, either the unhooked person or others, but it's not a trade at least. The unhooked person also gets a +7% speed boost for 10 seconds. -Botany knowledge (Claudette's perk): +50% healing speed permanently. -Empathy (Claudette's perk): see everyone injured pretty much map-wide (128m). You can go to them and heal them. -Boon: Circle of healing (Mikaela's perk): bless a totem and make anyone in 24m of it be able to self heal at a speed of 50%, also boosts your healing speed by 50%. -For the people (Zarina's perk): while healthy, press active ability button to transfer your health state to the person you are currently healing, but you get broken for 60 seconds (you can't be healed). -Autodidact (Adam's perk): every skill check you hit while healing others by hand increases the bonus by a chunk, but you start with negative bonus, finish with 50% instant heal on skill check. There are others that can fit, but these are ones that come to my mind instantly and all serve much more value than better than new.

After reading a lot of comments, this is the first I almost fully agree with. I feel like saboteur should be changed, personally. Why? Well, your build idea is preferably flashlight saves. You should be able to hit them every time with empathy after the flashlight rework, with the only exception being is when the killer is facing the wall or grabbing from lockers. In that case, you can swap saboteur for flashbang (Leon's perk), because flashbangs can save from any position, even from the locker grabs or when the killer faces a wall (you can't save from Wesker power grab, but that also applies to flashlights). Also, with flashbangs it's not only fun, but also practical, because you are doing gens to craft one. If you don't have this perk unlocked, you probably should swap sprint burst to dead hard, because then you can take 1 more hit while someone is being carried, providing more value to empathy. Sprint burst can be changed in any variant of this build to dead hard, because if you are injured and the killer finds you before the pickup, you won't die, and also you will run more rather than just walking always saving the sprint burst. Another option is to swap saboteur for iron will, so you can be much quieter while sneaking in for a save (pro tip: crouching on itself decreases noises you make by quite a lot, so always try to crouch when you are injured and don't want to be heard).

just so you know, autodidact doesn't work when you heal yourself, or heal others with a medkit. Would consider using COH over everything because it stacks with botany and makes you able to heal yourself in 16 seconds, just like with a medkit, but infinitely. It also increases the speed you heal others. But yeah, other than that, maybe we'll make it or no one left behind too. If you still want a medkit to heal yourself, consider still using those perks, but instead of streetwise using self adherent wrap addon (yellow addon, adds 8 charges and 5% to healing speed), which compensates for the botany debuff too, you just get 1 more perk slot.

@@broylerchicken2675 I'm aware Autodidact only works for healing others, that's the point of the build and why I bring it with Botany without a medkit (unless I bring Streetwise, personally I'd rather bring it than an addon as it helps my teammates out too). No One Left Behind isn't a bad shout for endgame though, also Desperate Measures is one I forgot about that would also allow for super fast heals.

@@Awesometrax yeah. However, streetwise rarely helps your teammates because of a small range and time margin. I’d rather bring an addon and we’ll make it, desperate or no one left behind, rather that hoping for a slight chance of value for my team (ofc in swf you can get more value, but in solo-q it’s pretty occasional)
