The "Where is my mother!" segment is my favorite Tomb Raider scene ever. So much emotion behind it.

That TR Chronicle Rome cutscene is hands down my favorite. "not to lay a finger on you, remember silly!" So cold yet so hilarious.

I kept wondering "what was the best line Lara Croft ever said?", and it was hard to choose. In the end, "From this moment, your every breath is a gift from me" is probably the best line in the entire series because Keeley Hawes is phenomenal and she delivers it with so much venom like it's her very last warning. Hence she walked away and left Amanda in the alternate ending in TRU. But then that Darth Vader scene in Shadow of the Tomb Raider where she kills that guy without saying anything kind of made me realise some of Lara's most iconic scenes are where she doesn't say anything.

Till now, I only really played TR Legend and I love this game to every extent. It's great and I have so much fun with it. I dipped my toes into the first game from 1996 and as further I go, its probably going to be a fascinating experience. Legend made me a fan off the series and I'm thrilled to see what the franchise has to offer. I now own all main line games from 1996 to 2018 and I hope I have a great time with them.

i need a legend and underworld remaster, those are my favorite tomb raiders, i keep replaying them to this day.

The moment in Legend where Lara gets VERY ANGRY is one of my favorite moments too. Really shocked me as teen. And that scene in Chronicles where she is hanging from the ledge. A lot of your favorite moments are mine too.

"Everyone between me and the stone dies" "D'you know it's going to be a real pleasure to shut you up." Takamoto: "ms. Croft, are you deaf?" Lara: "I don't know; let's see. Try begging for your life like you did the last time we spoke." And there is a scene in anniversary I really like, it has no spoken lines. When lara enters tomb of qualopec she leans in real close to qualopec then the mummy next to him lunges at her then she pulls her pistols and trains them on mummy then qualopec. The scene is really suspenseful and has amazing cinematography

Thank you for making this video! I'm missing Lara Croft so much, and I hope we'll have a new game soon. I totally agree with your top 10. I love that moment from Shadow when she goes out of the water, you described it so well that it gave me goosebumps!! There are other iconic moments like in TRA for example, when she kills Larson and she looks at her hands covered in his blood. After all the game killing bears, wolves and even a T-Rex, this is the first time she kills a man (who used to be a friend of hers) and you notice how she's feeling about it. On the reboot from 2013 they kind of recreated her first shot to a man, and it was more realistic, but still I love that TRA moment. Thanks again, I suscribed!

“Where is my mother” is the only scene from TR Legend I liked. I remember being so excited to play TR legend, and how much I didn’t really like the game (as a TR sequel cos overall it was ok). Surprisingly Shadow has a lot of great scenes, Shadow is a game I really enjoyed playing it the second time round on Hard. And that moment when Lara says “you’re f*cking dead” and walks out of that lake is so fierce. And how she broke up in tears afterwards. Really powerful

The beginning bit in the first reboot where you have to escape the cave and you finally find the way out and the guy grabs you, only to be crushed by a rock. That was a real “we’re not in Kansas any more” moment for me.

For me the moments I love are: the point when shes sitting with an injured Roth and shes saying how she cant do things without him and he said "yes you can Laura...you're a Croft" And the simple "goodbye mother. Rest in peace"

Absolutely great list. Agree with all of them. A few other moments i also love: - Lara getting her own back on Kurtis after his two playable levels. - The part in Rise where Lara gets captured and interrogated - Also from Rise, when Lara confronts Ana and ends up shooting her without hesitation

To add to the point about the T-Rex, in TRAE, while it also used a cutscene, which revealed the dinosaur was the reason the bridge was broken as it destroyed it to get at some raptors, Lara did the smart thing and peered out from behind a tree to watch. Presumably when it finds her, the player gets control and it's _they_ who have to react, just like in TR1 as you pointed out. However, veterans and/or TRA players would have soon realised that it's less easy to beat since it's been given the Dr Willard treatment: according to animations and other sources about the game, the player was supposed to shoot it till it's stunned like Willard Spider or Italian Dragon: Marco Bartoli. Then Lara and/or Melissa would need to construct or set up a spike shooter trap to actually kill it while it was knocked out, then lure the T-Rex into it. So even TR1 Pros may end up back at square 1 by hiding in the caves and getting chased until they figure it out or turn to Stella's awesome walkthroughs for guidance. Teeth's TRAE tribute mod, TRA Retold partially features this: you kill the T-Rex with a teeth spikes trap, but all you need to do in this mod is throw the switch and the T-Rex teleports onto the spikes as they trigger.

Ohh the dual pistol moment in TR 2013 made me one happy TR fan back in the day 😊

Wow, talk about a very fun blast from the past! I remember way way back playing TR for the 1st time. Brilliant. Lots of issues and debates over time, but I loved the series. Not sure about others, but I'd still be stuck in TR1 & 2 if it wasn't for Stella's Tomb Raider Site. Thumbs up.

to me one of the best scene is the ending of Shadow of the Tomb Raider, I just love the fact that lara sais goodbye to her parents and the last shot on the drawing with the pyramid and the t rex .... brilliant

Great list! There are so many great moments in the series! A few of mine would include fighting an actual dragon in tr2, Lara meeting Sophia Leigh & electrocuting her, the final confrontation with Amanda in Legend, meeting Natla again in Underworld & that time Lara became the predator in Shadow! :D

The revelation of the tomb in Ghana 6. Falling into the statues of Horus and Seth in the Sanctuary of Scion 7. Watching the frozen ship at the Mongolian passage 8. Using parachutes in TR 2013 9. Entering into Brother Obscura's tomb 10. Lara shooting her mother's wrath

Not much to fault about this incredible list, and yes! love the t-shirt, one of my most loved cut scenes is the end of Crash Site level from TRIII 'is well for you me fasting this day' followed by sassy Lara 'you might forgot "I'm quite hungry myself" famished actually' such great comedy with perfect delivery.

The moment at the castle when she gets the granade launcher, the fear in the guards voices "shit she got a Granade launcher" then her reply "that's right you bastards coming for you all" still give me goosebumps at the tone and how pissed off she is.

I miss the old sassy sociopathic Lara, even if she was borderline evil at times! Good choice for No 1. I remember the weird chanting in that Tomb of Seth cutscene, followed by the blood running out of the jackal heads. Gave me nightmares, that did.

I thought the introduction of the Atlantean horsemen in TR1 was a lot scarier than the T.rex in the Lost Valley.

Ah I like Alistair, for me he was the humour of the game with Zip. It was a serious story in Legend, more serious in terms of delving into Lara's past. So I think we needed that and I think the game was made self aware in that, if you didn't like Alistair, Zip was there to shut him up with sass a lot of the time.

I would love to see a remaster or even a remake of tomb Raider Chronicles

I really like how you included the childhood flashback/dream sequence from Shadow. Some things from the reboot left me a bit disappointed and personally I've never been a fan of the "missing mum/dad" storyline (even less in LAU), but I think in Shadow they ended up doing a really nice job with it. We get to see how Lara's adult self is an evolution of the adventurous seed that she picked up from her memories of her mother (like that fierce Queen from the story book her mother read to her in those happy moments). She is having dreams of her mother - as she recounted Jonas - and as players we know that it's because in Blood Ties she finally found her tomb. I guess it's a typical fiction-psychology-textbook moment: you're subconsciously working on your grief when you're dreaming of your beloved deads, and your grief can be "awakened" and triggered from such events as visiting their tomb. She relives that grief once again when she loses Unuratu - another motherly, loving and adventurous figure (who also kinda looks like her mother). After that, the adventure in San Juan's Mission feels like a slow ascent from the pit of negativity and despair she reached in the oil refinery when Jonah's apparent death added to Unuratu's one. During San Juan's Chruch puzzles she relives Christ's passion and the lightbeams puzzles mirror the one she solved as a child to open her mother's room. FINALLY, acknowledging her dark side in the "seek your mirror" scene with the Yaaxil queen, but also the call to life that the renewed memory (renewed in dreams, and also indirectly thanks to Unuratu, etc.) of her mother's love gave to hear, Lara herself becomes a Christic figure and metaphorically sacrifices herself (or more likely, her growing, obsessed-with-the-past shadowy self) to save the world. In a sort of Neon Genesis Evangelion trope where the broken, orphan protagonist is granted the power to decide of the world's fate and, even if at first he's bent on descruction, he is actually the one to finally realize that, despite all the pain of living, when you acknowledge that force that brought us in this world, your lost mother's love, then it is possible to wish for a world where everyone can still be alive while saying goodbye to your lost ones. Which Lara does as well - at Unuratu's funeral, she also leaves behind her mother's bracelet. She is recognizing her mother's gone, but left something behind, INSIDE of her, something she can find in other women like Unuratu and that she can find in herself. Her own life and will to live. It's also a really nice way to put an end to the orphan storyline by fulfilling it and using it for your character to evolve. She's a real adult now, probably closer to the relaxed-happier Lara we saw for most of Legend and in Core's tenure. Who knows what she'll do now and if she's gonna become a funnier person! So Yeah big comment sorry. I hope you read it, I kinda figured you might like it. I really liked this character arc and was so disappointed when I realized that most critics panned SoTR without mentioning or even realizing all the powerful mirroring moments and mother issues in this storyline :(

For me, nothing beats entering the chamber room in St Francis’ Folly.

Why did I never make that parallel between Von Croy taking the Iris and Lara taking the Amulet in TR4? It seems so obvious and kind of the point of the story 😅. Last Revelation has always remained one of my favourite TR games.

I think my favourite sequence is the one in Tokio in Legend. Right after Takamoto is breaking the party at Nishimura.

how could I not make the connection between Von Croy egoism and imprudence when he took the Iris and the fact that Lara snatched the Amulet of Horus the exact same way years later ?? I feel so dumb rn 🤦🏻 anyway, love your top and your channel!

The Doppelganger moment was crazy because they released that trailer and none had any idea of what the game was like yet. So everyone thought Lara basically destroyed her home and that´s it. It was really cool.

Love the content, the edits are on point. The memorable mentions looked like you already done it before. but the ambience you are talking lacks personality, maybe a green screen with the games menus in the back, or a few Lara's dolls, maps, the games boxes phisically placed on the background would be a great adding on the theme of the channel.

I also miss how casually cruel Lara used to be. Part of her charm was not being a typical hero type.

"That's right, run you bastards. I'm coming for you all!" Will always be my top Lara moment. Lara lost her final fuck to give and just started unleashing holy hell on the inhabitants of Yamatai... And damn if it didn't feel glorious.

Shadow had some story pacing problems but Lara's emotional journey was well done. The Survivor Trilogy arc to me is very well crafted. Lara is a very flawed protagonist, driven by obsession, recklessness and need to control her surrounding (all spawned from her experience of lack of control on Yamatai) she is brave BECAUSE she experience fear. I really like how she has almost an animal subroutine that flares up from time to time, when she loses control she became something that scares even her. And in the Survivor trilogy is well implied to be what allowed her to survive Yamatai. One can like different interpretation of Lara for many different reasons: i like both LAU and Survivor, OG Lara is less compelling to me as a character, especially because has no growth room (why i like AoD) OG Lara might be a "badass" but to me is just uncompelling; she is always on top, unperturbed. She is not couragious, she is fearless, which is boring in the end, like a less charming Duke Nukem. Duke Nukem was fun, when i was 9...xD, now i'm 30 i need more complex rounded character with flaws, journey.. not robotic killing machines..
