Jonell’s voice is absolute music to my ears. I can’t put into words how happy this made me, it was so nice to finally hear Lara again, it’s been too long. That’s one thing that always made me a bit sad was how we never heard from her at all, I really hope she does more interviews like this (would love a group interview with Jonell, Murti, and Eric) in the future because she is a real treat. Thank you so much Jonell!

Her voice is just amazing. I can't tell you how much I just smiled and giggled like an idiot during this. I literally LOVE hearing her speak. She's the true voice of Lara. When the series truly returns to form, we need her!

I just want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for doing this interview with the lovely Jonell Elliott . I am a 28 year old guy and I grew up with the legendary Lara Croft, so as you can imagine this brought tears in my eyes . Amazing interview !

Out of all the actresses I’ve heard interviewed, Lara comes across the most with Jonell!! Low key disappointed that “I feel stronger now” didn’t come up in conversation 😂

I am German and it was a pleasure for me to hear this interview, what a great woman, what a great voice !! There are people you can listen to, I could listen to Jonell Elliott for hours. After 20 years she sounds just as dynamic and SEXY as it did back then. Her laughter and humor are wonderful and heart refreshing ! Can you imagine, what a gift for millions of classic Tomb Raider fans if Jonell Elliott could be heard again in a remake of AOD ? Thank you for sharing !!!.......:)

Aw it's nice to hear her voice again it takes me back to the old games! Out of them all she definitely brings the sas into Lara's voice and attitude. I still hear her now on telly its crazy. Lol her and shelly sound most similar to me.

I don't know if Jonell is reading the comments of your video but I just want to say thank you to her for all she did for us and Core Design as the voice of Lara. Her work in Angel of Darkness is my favourite of the games she was in and it would be awesome if she returned as the voice of Lara again, especially if/when Core's Tomb Raider Anniversary Edition sees the light of day. (I'd read somewhere back in 2008 or so that Jonell was planned to voice Lara in TRAE, but the project was canned before she could record any lines)

This was beautiful. I'm glad to finally hear about her role in Lara's history. Only thing I wish we got was the iconic "I feel stronger now" line 😆❤.

Holy moly, I can't believe you managed to convince Jonell to be interviewed. She's the definitive voice I hear in my head for Lara when reading anything related to the Core era (Top Cow comics, Lost Cult & Man of Bronze books, fanfiction etc), on top of generally being how I imagine Lara Croft herself to sound. Amazing how she still sounds the same after all these years and its interesting to learn how vast her career has been. In case Jonell decides to read any of these comments, thank you so much for contributing to making Lara such a memorable character for me and I wish you well in your continued ventures.

This was great hearing! I honestly don't think age is much of a barrier to Jonell returning - there's something delightfully timeless about her voice. I remember when I first heard her in the role, in Angel of Darkness, after I'd been introduced through the Legend trilogy with Keely Hawes, she was my second exposure to a Lara voice, and it was perfect for old Lara, and that game. Broken and unfinished as AoD was, Jonell's performance just brought so much... I guess elegant steel if I'm excused the poetry - dignified and polite, but also very plain that she absolutely would kill her way through problems. Her best bits are probably when she's playing Lara on the edge, unsure of herself but taking a very hard and threatening tone - it's perfect! The TR games were definitely an escape for me as a child, and Lara was someone I could feel genuinely confident stepping into the shoes of. Jonell was a key part of that, so I'm very thankful for her taking the role, and touched by her warmth and humility!

what a great opportunity to get to know her beautiful and cheerful personality. I never grew with the original games I played Anniversary first but my love for Lara never faded. She's always been the strong and powerful female lead that was so organic and well built. When I recently played the old games I was fascinated by Jonell's lovely voice she certainly gave the Confident edge of Lara's and I now I can't see Lara without Jonell's beautiful voice in my ear! Thank you for making this happen and Thank you Jonell for being there still after 20 years! We love you massively

I love her voice so much, and it's so nice hearing it again! Shelley Blond and Judith Gibbins were just amazing as Lara, but Jonell really was the perfect voice for Lara Croft. I hope they re-hire her to voice Lara again in the future. Especially if they made the series return to it's classic roots. Honestly, any of the three first voice actresses would be great for that, but Jonell would be my favorite choice. Thank you for a great interview. I just found this interview, and it brought up so many memories of me, my brother and my dad playing through the entirety of AOD; my favorite memory was getting stuck at the ghost battle where you had to grab the painting. We were so frustrated we didn’t understand it. To make things worse, we saved at a part that killed us within seconds. Finally we called Eidos hotline for help on the game and the woman on the phone was so helpful and told us how to beat it! What a phenomenal game it was. Very underrated. Love the content ❤️

This is truly fantastic! I'm always afraid to "meet my heroes" and usually I stay away from interviews and things like that, but she sounds like such an awesome person. Her voice is the same as it was back then, that's crazy! What I really loved about this is that I imagined a new tomb raider game with her voice in it, and just having a voice like hers would already fix 90% of what's wrong with Lara's portrayal in the reboot. While reboot Lara sounds usually conflicted and immature, Jonell's voice would automatically make Lara sound like a more well rounded and confident person. There's a sharpness and wit to her voice that hasn't quite been matched by any other actress. Truly talented voice actress ♥️

Despite never finishing The Last Revelation and Chronicles, I DID quite enjoy Angel of Darkness (bugs and all) and I think a big part of that is because Jonell is SO iconic with her performance! Her voice and Lara's witty attitude in that game are a match in heaven! And her voice still sound the same! If Crystal/Eidos were ever to do a "multiverse like" TR game where we could have Jonell, Judith, Keeley it would be the best thing ever!
