Some of these “PR disasters” are really just a storm in a teacup. It really goes to show how thick, out of touch and desperate for a story the media really are. Take for example the “fields of wheat” and Milliband’s sandwich. No one can actually explain what’s embarrassing about either of them. Let’s just touch on Milliband, he ate a sandwich and pulled a funny face, which by the way we all do if photographed at the right moment. Does anyone really think this incident lost him votes!? I sincerely hope not! I mean imagine that thought process when going to the polling station-hmmm, I really like his policies and I think he has a lot of integrity and seems like a good family man, but the way he ate that sandwich was a bloody disgrace! I’m voting conservative!!
@johnmelrose3774
@johnmelrose3774 11 дней назад
They arent thick because the electorate are the ones eating it up and the media know this. It's ridiculous how out of touch the working class are, they keep voting for the elite class to rule despite the elite class constantly pooping all over them. Nothings going to change anytime soon when the sheep keep following blindly.

In fairness to Theresa May that's not such an easy question to answer. "Naughty" implies - when she was a young child, not a teenager. She couldn't say shoplifting or anything like that, so she quickly came up with something pretty harmless, and something that kids often do - trespassing. It was a terrible example she gave because it came across as boring. Had she said she hid on the local wheat fields when she was supposed to be doing cross country run at school then everyone would have nodded in approval.

@@leopold7562 the Royal family isn't political in your mind? What does "UK" stand for again?
@leopold7562
@leopold7562 2 года назад
@@TheMightofDab What a disingenuous question. Okay, let me explain it for you: The UK is a political term for the countries of England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland. That's the United part out of the way. The Kingdom part is because we have a monarchy. And that's it. A Kingdom is the term for a country ruled by a monarch. Except the monarch in our case doesn't wield any political power and hasn't since 1649. The whole notion of being ruled by a monarch in this country is just an affectation. The Queen herself is the head of state for the Commonwealth, but is nothing more than a figurehead. She's not supposed to be involved in politics, even to the point where she's not allowed into the House of Commons. And that applies to all of her family, whether they are direct descendants, distant relatives or those who marry into it. To put it another way, if we ever decided to give Northern Ireland back to the Irish, the need for the term UK would disappear. We already have the name Great Britain for the unity of England, Scotland and Wales, so we'd just use that instead. That's how important to politics the royals are; a complete dependence of the term "Kingdom" based on the continued occupancy of a bit of Ireland.

Should do a list of the top worst things Prince Phillip ever said:- “Everybody was saying we must have more leisure. Now they are complaining they are unemployed” (during the 1981 recession). “You are a woman, aren’t you?” (in Kenya after accepting a small gift from a local woman). “If you stay here much longer you’ll all be slitty-eyed” (to a group of British students during a royal visit to China). “You can’t have been here that long, you haven’t got pot belly” (to a Briton he met in Hungary). “Aren’t most of you descended from pirates?” (to a wealthy islander in the Cayman Islands). “How do you keep the natives off the booze long enough to pass the test” (to a Scottish driving instructor). “It looks as if it was put in by an Indian” (referring to an old-fashioned fuse box in a factory near Edinburgh). “Still throwing spears?” (question put to an Aboriginal Australian during a visit). “There’s a lot of your family in tonight” (after looking at the name badge of businessman Atul Patel at a Palace reception for British Indians). “The Philippines must be half-empty as you’re all here running the NHS” (on meeting a Filipino nurse at Luton and Dunstable Hospital). Oh yes and wasn't there one saying when he died he wanted to come back as a deadly virus? Yeah good one Phil.

The Mound has gone now. What always got to me was the idea that it was there partly because the council thought Londoners needed green spaces…right opposite Hyde Park and you’ll never guess what colour that is…

I would have put chamberlains policy of appeasement high up there. I’m guessing it’s a modern look.

Appeasement was a PR success at time, and only widely seen as a collosal mistake in retrospect.

the fact that tories sending out vans telling immigrants to go home or be arrested ranked slightly below Ed Milliband making a weird face while eating sandwich really does say a lot about British political coverage doesn't it?

It's worrying that all of these bar 1 has happened in my life time and I'm still in my 20s. The state of British politics/ politicians. Though I must admit, there are some really bad ones that this video misses. Maybe the people who made it are young too. But I would have thought Chamberlain's Munich Agreement would be up there, as would the Suez Canal crisis and the Profumo Affair

It's watch mojo they aren't known for doing much research. Plus this video is based on controversies they have easy to find video footage of. This video feels like eating junk food.

The person compiling this list must be your age and is unaware of British history prior to 1986! He cannot ever have heard of Sir Winston Churchill, for example on being told he was drunk replying and you madam are ugly, but, nyahhhh, I will be sober in the morning.

Munich was immensely popular at the time. Many people thought Chamberlain had saved the world. It wasn't until some months later, when people realized Chamberlain had been conned, that they turned against the agreement and Chamberlain.
