Thanks for the video guys, some great games on the list! Currently our go to couples games are aeons end (the no shuffling deck builder component is a game changer, I don't know why more games don't implement it) and obsession. Love the theme, especially when you play it up and sledge your partner with a fake British accent. Have fun at PAX!

Interesting picks, I think I've only played a couple of these with my wife, but they all seem like great choices. I played My City with Dylann but I could see that being the perfect couples game. Looking forward to part 2 on Tablenauts when I have time. Also, can't speak for Dylann but I think Patchwork is WAY better than New York Zoo, it just doesn't have the cute animal meeples but I find it has more interesting choices (which tiles to take, how much "time" to use to get more/fewer turns, getting buttons for your quilt/income engine vs tiles that cover more space, etc.) and plays in about half the time of NYZ. I wanted to like NYZ a lot more but both times I played it felt like too much of the game was focused on the breeding aspect so it felt repetitive and a bit too long. Awesome-looking Capstone production as usual though. - Carlo

We have a lot of crossover on our couples list. For first date recommendation, we said Codenames Duet, but Wingspan is phenomenal for any situation including couples.

Wow, Max! During the Destinies section, Jeff asked Danielle to talk about the game, she started to do so, and you super talked over her! lol! You 100% mansplained why she might like it. :P Still love all of you. :D

Hey Matthew! Thanks for your support and I appreciate the callout. It’s something I’m working on! I struggle with pushing the conversation and keeping up the pace, no matter who’s on camera. I often forget we have the power of editing to cut out lapses in discussion. 😅 It’s definitely not my intention to ever mansplain things for Danielle. She’s extremely capable on her own. I’ll try to be more mindful of this moving forward!

Destinies was a great couples game for my wife and I. She doesn't have any interest in the theme but still really likes it because of how accessible it is. My wife and I played the crud out of Villainous for a while, and had our fun with it. We are kind of over it though, its not a very balanced game, and it drags with more than 2.

I don’t find villainous to be any fun. But aside from a few games I already own I’m interested in several of the other games mentioned. Just ordered Chronicles of Crime 1900 and have My City, New York Zoo, Ganz Schon Clever, Targi, and Silver Bullet saved on a wishlist. Thanks for the time stamps.

Oh boy! New York Zoo isn't even close to Patchwork, hehe. We sold that game so fast. Doesn't even crack my top ten polyomino games. Neither does Isle of Cats. My City, on the other hand, is amazing! Jamie, I'm surprised you didn't care for Terraforming Mars but love Wingspan so much. Wingspan is just the extra short version of TM.

Wingspan I really like but my boyfriend rarely wants to play it with me. So many great games on the list. I have the same "problem" with Destinies, Jamie. I like it but so far it is not liking me. I got it either way and am looking forward to play it with my flatmates at 3. I hope they like it, too.

I prefer Calico so I don’t have to talk to my partner. Jk. One that my husband likes is Onitama- but I think that I’m going to try Wingspan cuz I really wanna hear all the dad jokes he can muster while we play! Thanks for the suggestions!

Both of these videos were great. On the next list like this, do you mind leaving the game name up the whole time you're talking about it? It takes just a second to miss the title, and then the next two minutes are just listening for clues on what game is actually being discussed. Sometimes you repeat the name, sometimes not.

I really like your channel and enjoy your couples dynamics! Although I must admit that sometimes the couples conflicts in front of the camera stress me out a bit. That has to do with my own experiences. I like to hear what different couples like to play together. But sometimes it just gets so annoying for me to watch a couple in front of a camera interrupting each other. Is Danielle ever allowed to finish a sentence??? Danielle, stand up for your right to talk and take part in the conversation! Go girl! I want to hear what you have to say. And Max, how about a little more respect for your partner, otherwise why not do it without her?

Hey Carl! I hear you and I agree. It’s something I’m working on for sure. Not just with Danielle, but in general. I push the conversation more than necessary and forget that we have the power of editing on our side to fix any lapses in discussion. Danielle is awesome and certainly doesn’t deserve to be interrupted or spoken over. She’d be the first to admit she doesn’t always know what to say but that doesn’t excuse me not giving her the space to try.

Hey Carl! Sorry if any parts of this video made you feel uncomfortable. But I can assure you I have never felt talked over or disrespected by Max, Tablenauts, or FTM. I know you are only seeing what's in the video in front of you, but Max knows that I have trouble articulating my thoughts about games. This is my biggest hang up when being in videos like this, and Max knows my comfort level there. So what you are perceiving as interrupting is really him helping me articulate how I feel. And I really appreciate that. And if you'd like to see me "stand up to" Max, feel free to join our discord, where I pop in randomly to chirp at him. 🤣
