You should do a “why this card is banned/limited” section cards like giant trunade, tribe, Kaiser coliseum others been on the ban list for years...be cool to see what ppl did to get them banned
It's a good idea, but for your examples that's actually pretty easy to explain: Kaiser Colosseum: Be player one, make some huge combo that leaves you with one single hard to destroy boss monster (or play a strategy where you only have one strong and hard to destroy monster on the field and the rest is either gy stuff or set traps like Bujin), then drop the colosseum and end the turn. Your opponent will be pretty much unable to start any monster reliant combo on their own as they can only do one normal summon and then nothing else anymore. Giant Trunade: recycle your s/t cards, especially strong now that field spells are actually good and tend to search out a card when played, and even worse use it to finish your opponent with them losing all their spells as well as being unable to react with traps.
Yeah those loops are also the reason why Premature Burial is banned while Monster Reborn is allowed despite the former being a "weak" version of the latter. You can use bouncing effects to return the burial to your hand, getting to trigger destruction effect of the equipped monster and/or its summoning effect for only 800 lp.
I know Giant Trunade allowed you do stuff like getting five turns out of Swords of Revealing Light, getting two revives out of one Premature Burial or Call of the Haunted, having another way get rid of opposing traps (for a turn, anyway) before you tried to attack, and/or just recycling Spells and Traps on the field in case wanted to make space, protect them, wanted to use them later, etc. That's just some of the stuff you could do 15+ years ago; there's probably all sorts of goofy stuff you could if it was legal now.
@@nicolaistuhlmuller8718 That and Premature Burial is searchable. I still see its weaker counterpart DDR get abused by Power Tool Dragon in combo decks 😅
I remember Last Will terror in early GX era. So many people played the same 1st turn. 1. Go second. 2. Summon Cyber Dragon. 3. Summon Maurading Captain 4. Special Exiled Force 5. Last Will 6. Pop Exiled to pop your opponent's monster 7. Speci Injection Fairy Lily 8. Swing 6700 first turn
I'm surprised you haven't included Elpy on the list. It's like the most talked about card that special summons from the deck. Day 243 of waiting for new Volcanic support to arrive
I'm surprise on how you make the same exact comment on literally every yu-gi-oh video (Volcanic Support) without even updating the number of days (although I'm not entirely sure about the last part)
Dark Sage should be in the list as well since the summon condition is hard but at least he search any spell card, while red eyes black metal dragon (and metalzoa) is just a vanilla monster that be a dead card in hand and red eyes + metalmorph is better.
Honourable mention to Wightprince for being able to Special Summon from the deck ‘King of the Skull Servants’ also known as “I attack for 10,000 damage”.
Ah yes, the Rescue Cat Milus Radiant combo, best shown when the Captain General of our Emperor’s Adeptus Custodes used that sequence to defeat Tzeench when they faced off in a game of Paradox Billiards Vostroyan Roulette 4th Dimensional Hypercube Chess Strip Poker. A glorious victory for the Imperium against the dreaded archenemy.
I'm extremely old school with the game, but I remember when Magic Ruler hit the scene and all those Attribute search monsters came out and made getting tributes out so much easier. Feeling a little bit nostalgic
@@guardian4452 It is from a youtube parody series called "If the Emperor had a Text-to-Speech Device" which is based off the lore of the Warhammer 40K series. This particular quote is from an episode where a Guard Captain is challenged to a game of yu-gi-oh by the Emperor of Mankind.
I gotta say qliphort disk. Qli helix and carrier both have effects when tributed that either bounce or pop back row. When qli disk is tribute summoned, you can special summon 2 qli monsters from the deck but they're destroyed in endphase. So even if you didn't have the two removals for your tributes you can easily search them. Then, with laser qlip you can normal summon again, and get out your towers pretty easily.
Your videos are actually the reason that I started using destiny hero malicious in duel links since it's so flipping easy to send d-heros from anywhere to the gy.
4:47 Malicious does restrict you insofar you have to play it, and I think in addition to the much lower speed of the game back then you got most of your stuff into the graveyard from the field, which is pretty cumbersome with Malicious.
Spellbook of judgement should have errata, like giving limit to how much it counts the spell activated, and change the adding spellbook cards effect into other effect such as; salvaging top cards from your deck equal to the amount of spell activated, and add 1 spellbook spell card from those, and return the rest in any order desired on top of your deck
I'm kind of surprised Lonefire Blossom wasn't on this list. But then again I can understand why all of the cards that are on this list are on it instead of Lonefire Blossom.
You missed my favorite card. I'm a fan of "Agent of Creation - Venus". The ability to special summon up to 3 monsters from the deck is so helpful. Doesn't matter that they're normal monsters. Instant link or tribute fodder.
I used a deck with crazy draw power, 3 cards from the sky, 3 white elephants gift, and those shine balls lol. Worked even better with the cloudian who does the same thing though
I think Number 29: Mannequin Cat should have been on this list. It requires 2 lvl 2 monsters to xyz summon. Effect: when your opponent special summons a monster, you can special summon a monster with the same type and/or attribute. you can forcefully activate this effect by detaching a card from it to special summon a card from your opponent's grave to their field.
What? No Lonefire Blossom? Good. Everybody forget that card even exists, please. My plant deck can't afford to see it limited, the deck is bad enough as it is.
I feel like abyss script - abysstainment could have been on this list since it lets you special summon any number of abyss actor pendulum monsters from the deck when it is destroyed by an opponents card effect whilst set which is easy to do since the deck basically revolves around getting your spells destroyed.
I can see an argument for that. Though since it requires your opponent to destroy it and you, yourself, can't destroy it to achieve the same effect, it might be a bit too specific unfortunately
@@isaacreeves9263 the only method i can destroy it myself is by using the abyss actor who switches control every turn. The opponent cant activate the effect as it states that the owner does it instead of the controller but still counts as an opponents card effect if I activate the destruction effect when its control is shifted to the opponent.
@@faidetestarossa3637 That is true, I haven't thought of that. I guess it just didn't make the list cause those listed are considered "easier" to pull off/use or doesn't require to much set up
For reference Rescue Cat wasn't the only card Last Will could abuse. Magical Scientist, Exiled Force, Injection Fairy Lily and Cyber Stein all had their moments in the spotlight because of Last Will.
@@GamerGhostRider that is true, but BA hasn't topped a YCS for quite a while now, so one could argue they are worse than nekroz according to YCS statistics XD. Hell, they are worse than Gren Fking Maju in that regard.
You didn't mention Last Will's full power. You can also use the effect to SS a monster during the Battle Phase, End Phase, or even at the middle of the chain. Except during the Damage Step of course.
One idea for a video would be "5 Banned Cards that could be solved with a simple errata". Firewall Dragon getting a hard once per turn clause is a great example.
Lightdragoon88 Ultimate Tyranno is great against decks that summons upon monsters sent to the graveyard. Equip him with an attack boost and you can easily disrupt a spam deck.
You definitly missed a few. First is Tour Guide from the Underworld. Next is Summoner Monk..which might even get banned one day. You have to discard a card, but this thing summons ANY level 4 monster from the deck with no other restrictions other than it can't attack. He can even summon other copies of himself......AND.....it's NOT once be turn. it's just a matter of time until he breaks the game and they ban it.
I'd personally like to see Top 10 best (or worst) Flip effects in YuGiOh. YuGiOh has evolved and with it, Flip Effects have all but changed, so a Top 10 on potential best or worst Flip Effects doesn't seem like a bad idea.
Kind of crazy that subterrors have been the only competitive flip deck since the game started. If there was more new generic flip support, like lord of the heavenly prison, it would unlock so many broken old cards. I miss the brokenness of Hade-Hane
flamvell firedog has a relatively good effect as it can special summon fire monsters with 200 or less defense from deck as there are lots of fire monsters with that low a defense
I know this is an old video, but it would be nice if you displayed the pre-errata version of the cards when talking about its pre-errata effects to avoid confusion.
This list is very nice, I like it. Future idea: Same list but worst 10, since there are garbage cards to special summon from deck like familiar possessed, or dark sage.
I used Invoker a lot on my Madolche deck back in the day, summoning buttlerusk or chouxvalier to XYZ on Tiaramisu and cleaning the board without targeting. Ohh those were the days
Lol, I didn‘t know that there was another card to get the treatment of being unplayable because of the amount. Slash Draw is another one of those and I always thought that it was the only one.
I would have thought obedience schooled would have been on this list seeing as though it summons Three Monsters it doesn't stop your normal summon or stops you from special summoning and it's real only restriction is that you can't summon but Beast monsters that turn
Gonna be a Super Quant stan here. Super Quantal Fairy Alphan cna special summon one Auper Quantum Layer from the deck while sending two more to the grave, all at random. Which can even net you an extra monster if you get lucky off the random selection. Summon Green Layer off Alphan, summon another SQ in your hand! Send Red to the grave, summon an SQ from the grave. Really it just makes advantage and thins your deck by 3 or even 4 cards, all of which forwards the deck's play style.
megafleet/fortress, thousand/millenium-eyes, ultimaya, dawn dragster, denglong, tomahawk, utopia double, heavenly spheres, almiraj and if you count monsters with '?' atk, utopic zexal, drident and broadbull, and apollousa
The most broken part of Last Will is that it's not a hard once per turn and it doesn't specify how they're sent to the GY. As such, if you ran 3 copies, you could get 3 monsters out all at once for easy Extra Deck plays with just a tribute summon. Heck, you could run 3 copies of Slifer and get a Rank 12 XYZ monster with that kind of broken, or just OTK them with the Slifers. The only ways for it to come back would be if it said "by a card effect" or "by an opponent's card effect", it was a once per turn, and maybe negate their effects.
Only because you often win first turn with hero lives (by the way, which burn card do you use), against man-eater big beatdown (?), this does not mean that this card deserves to be on this list
A top 10 of best 2 archetypes the benefit each other, not engine based, but actual archetypes that benefit off one another. My example would be Hieratic arch, and dragon ruler arch, when rulers were allowed and saw very heavy meta play
Shit man, I would love to do the Sangan Last will combo lmao.... Normal summon sangan, Link sangan into Linkuriboh, Activate sangans effect, search for a card, than activate last will, special summon a monster from deck..... Dude that combo would go hard in a lot of decks.
With megalith coming out in ignition assault next year, we're getting the first ritual rock type monsters. So I was wondering, are all types of of monsters represented by all types of extra deck mechanics? I suspect every type has at least 1 synchro, xyz, link, maybe pendulum and fusion, but ritual? Video idea, identifying 1 monster of each summoning mechanic for each type, and seeing which types are lacking a specific kind of monster?
Wonder if they would errata Last Will to be hard once per turn and cannot be used on monsters that were were just brought out. This makes it slow and requires a monster card to survive your opponent's next turn and/or be summoned during your opponent's turn *which is doable* but not entirely frequent. In addition, the search ability can be negated by an opponent's Ash blossom This would make it so that usually you're not needing it once you got a boss monster out, but if you have it in your hand and your boss monster was killed but you have summoned another card previously, you'd be able to play it when you send something to the graveyard as part of a combo or summon, and summon a monster. So it could be dead weight in your hand or a combo saver to bring out something else. This would make it a card you do not wanna see in your first turn.
So, I believe either T.G. Trident Launcher or any Gladiator Beast could have made this cut, but I guess maybe their too archetype specific. Also, could you do a Top 10 Worst Glad Beast Monsters and a Top 10 Best and Worst Glad Beast support cards. I would appreciate it.
I don't know if he already did this one but Top 10 decks that became obsolete after links Examples: stardust Quasar FTK, Dustons, Digital bugs, karakuris, pure ojama, etc.
Would it make a difference if the special summoned card (for last will) couldn't attack and the effect was once per duel? Or am I just underestimating its power (don't know a whole lot about yu gi oh unfortunately 😐).
Being able to activate it only once per duel could be annoying if you draw multiples, but it'd still be quite powerful. 1.5k and lower monsters (usually) are not meant to be beaters, and the wide variety of plays that it could lead to means that one activation would still be worth it. Well it'd also suck for you if it gets negated, but cards usually don't stop being broken on the basis of "can be negated".
@@GenericUsername-Cloudpfpguy That makes a lot of sense even to someone like me 😯. I guess some cards just aren't meant to be changed (unless it gets a completely different effect or is absolutely nerfed to the ground; but then at that point your not even talking about the same thing anymore 🤔).
Hmm, I'm not rly surprised i Didnt see Lonefire Blossom or Cocoon of Ultra Evolution in there, theyre favorites of Mine, but i know lots of people dont play Plants or Insects, except Me among my friend group 😆🌿🐝
Theres a mistake with the spellbook of judgment eff, you add the spellbook cards from your deck up to the spell cards activated AFTER the resolution of the card, so if you active multiple spell cards and then you use judgment, you dont add nothing nor ss from the deck.
Top 10 character based archetypes IE Pegasus and Toon/ Relinquished archetypes Do going over archtypes exclusively used by a single anime character (from all 6 series) and how good they are in the modern day with new support (if any) Or alternatively 10 top worst ones.
JUNK SPEEDER is an OP "summon from deck effect" monster, it deserve a top 5 five spot. Super Ancient Deepsea King Coelacanth, is most definitely top 3.
Hi TheDuelLogs, For future videos you create can you edit it so the card you're discussing transitions from original card to post-errata card? (@2:28) I was confused how could Rescue Cat be broken since it clearly says "effects negated" then after you mentioned it was errata'd it made more sense. The little details are appreciated.
While seeing this video i just thought Multifaker + Last will. Activate Last will play Meluseek send to GY for Linkuriboh ss Multifaker + any altergeist then using melusik effect to get any altergeist monster. +2 On first turn is good.
