Uruguay is an argentinian independent state.

A country that have poor to no peasant class will alway rely on importation and therefore they are tied to the market fluctuation. They will alway have a huge weakness from their dependency to the international market acceptance to supply foods to their people, as well as they will have problem to develop the whole territory since most of their country will be poorly populated, leading to some serious inegality in terms of living conditions between peasant and urbanized classes. Of course all this can be cover by the financial sphere, but at one point it is sure that there will be a huge financial crisis, that's what the study of capitalism highlight, and I'm not even speaking of the sovereignty that your politicians lose to the private market. It will inevitably fail to provide progress about equality, as the whole system rely on the capacity to accumulate capital, and will overtime, when coupled with the inegality caused by the poor development of the country, create more and more resentment in the society. Food independency is crucial for a country, from every point of view, and lacking that much of countrymen isn't going to end well in "real country", by that I mean everything that is not a single city country.
