I think there should be a Beauty and the Beast Christmas float. I seem to be one of the very few people who loved Enchanted Christmas. I’m surprised Disney didn’t make a float in November 1997 when the movie came out.

If Disney was more involved in the Macy's Parade and contributed more balloons and floats of its own... here's a list of what they would have done. In addition to what we have actually seen from Disney in the parade, we would have seen: Balloons: * 1959: Dumbo, to promote his movie's second reissue. * 1962: Pinocchio, to promote the fourth reissue of his movie. Accompanied by a Jiminy Cricket walk-around. * 1964: Donald Duck's reintroduction to the parade would have been delayed until this year, to celebrate his 30th birthday. * 1967: Either Baloo or King Louie, to promote "The Jungle Book." In either case the other character would have appeared as a walk-around. * 1977: Winnie the Pooh, to promote "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh." * 1982: Santa Goofy would have debuted that year, which was when the character turned 50. * 1992: Genie (as Santa), to promote "Aladdin." * 1994: Simba, to promote "The Lion King." * 1995: Buzz Lightyear would have arrived to promote the original "Toy Story." Also feature a Woody walk-around. * 1997: Hercules on Pegasus. * 1998: Mushu (as Santa), to promote "Mulan." * 2002: Stitch (as Santa), to promote "Lilo and Stitch." * 2003: Nemo, to promote "Finding Nemo." * 2006: Oswald the Lucky Rabbit, to honor the return of rights to the character to Disney. * 2008: "Anniversary Mickey," a new Mickey Mouse balloon celebrating the character's 80th birthday. Here he would wear his trademark shorts, gloves, and shoes with a tuxedo jacket, dress shirt, and bow tie. Would have returned for two additional parades, with Sailor Mickey replacing it for two parades after that. Accompanied by Vanellope von Schweetz walk-around character. * 2013: Olaf would have debuted that year, to promote the release of "Frozen" in theaters. * 2016: Dory, to promote "Finding Dory," or Maui, to promote "Moana" Floats: * 1994: Simba's balloon preceded by a float replica of the Pridelands and Pride Rock. Featuring walk-arounds of Timon, Pumbaa, and other "Lion King" characters. * 1995: "Pocahontas" would have been promoted with a float of the forest from that movie. * 1997: A float promoting "Beauty and the Beast: Enchanted Christmas." * 1998: A "Tree of Life" float, to promote the opening of Disney's Animal Kingdom. * 2013: Olaf balloon preceded by a float of the Ice Palace from "Frozen" featuring Elsa and other characters from that movie. * 2016: Float promoting "Zootopia" with Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps, and other characters therefrom as walk-arounds.

As a balloon handler for Macys I'd like to add in that every company pays for their own balloons. So Disney owns all their balloons and have the right to ask for them back

If I could choose the utmost choice for a Disney character to appear in the Macy's parade as a giant balloon, I've got the perfect one for Thanksgiving 2018. Now that she (finally) got her star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame this past February, it would be so beautiful to see MINNIE MOUSE as a giant balloon. After all, Minnie (and Mickey) are turning 90 years old this year. In fact, why not have BOTH Mickey and Minnie show up in balloon form this Thanksgiving (2018)? Spread the word to Macy's! It's just GOT to work out!

Hasn't universsl been using the Macy's parade floats in there Holliday parade before 2015, and it's pretty funny the abc is using nbc to advertise there stuff, since nbc is the only one that airs the parade

It's so cool looking at all those original balloon designs :) The only ones I remember watching were from Chicken Little and on wards (excluding Olaf who I will be excited to see :D). As far as choosing who I want as a balloon, I really don't know :/ There's sooo many good choices I can't choose just one

Heres a fact for you guys. Did you know Steamboat Willie wasn't actually the first sound cartoon? The first one was made by Max Fleischer, The creator of Betty Boop and Popeye . But Max's cartoon wasn't too well known so when news sources were talking about Steamboat Willie, They would say Steamboat Willie was the first sound cartoon, to make it seem even more revolutionary.

Hopefully this year they’ll have a Steamboat Willie Mickey balloon for Mickey’s 90th birthday

I'd like to see Lumiere and Cogsworth (in their 1991 designs) as balloons! I also think Pinocchio (with Jiminy Cricket on his shoulder) and Bambi would be great choices. And I'm surprised Sorcerer Mickey has never been a balloon!

A fun Balloon idea the house from up. Maybe even make it a combo float and balloon, lifted off the ground like a hotair balloon or blimp would be or lifted threw some other mechanic or illusion.
