@purwantiallan5089 well Marc be on a bike and no1 as aggressive as him lol He's like a young Verstapen he attacts the corner very aggressively the man sends it like a rally driver should do
It’s heavily modified so it has way more horsepower than the Porsche + the track is not really a track lol, if you let them run on silverstone or spa or something the Porsche is atleast 10 seconds faster
Travis' Huckster still remains on the coolest cars to do the run. There's something special about a shoebox with active aero thrasing around the corners as opposed to the same looking ultra slick hypersports cars everyone else seems to use.
And to think that the Solus is a pretty severely nerfed take on the in-game car it's based on. But driver of the shootout remains to be Pastrana. He never stops going flat out.
Amazing the tech fitted into such a tiny car. Shows the amazing power of ground effect with the fan, no wonder unfortunately banned from f1. We are truly living in unprecedented times around car tech and its awesome to see
@@dashpig1 Not just in F1. They have had these thing for years in various racing series and they always end up being banned. Tossing up crap at the car following is one of the major problems.
I have to say Travis and the Hoonigan team are absolutely bringing it to the world! Man that was a fast run in a custom made monster! Probably one of my top 5 favourite cars of all time.
same with Viper, germans were banning it for a decade, cause their crap manufacturers couldn't make a car to compete with a private team on 10-year old car
@@maximborodyuk3773 from what i learnt about the viper, first, they let the car race normally, they felt it was too fast, added ballast, still too quick next, restricted the that huge and powerful v10, still not enough, next, forced them to run a smaller fuel tank/cell, still not enough, then next they handed out unecessary penalties. this were all did by the governing body of the series by the way[forgot the name] and the team was penske, correct me if i'm wrong
@@TheBadBunny87 yeah if I’m correct the v10 was supposed to be used until the end but they decided introduced a rule where any car with an engine bigger than 6.2l would not be allowed to compete. So the team went back to dodge to remove two cylinders from the v10 in order to make it a 6.2l v8
@@flameburstgt6503 correct. And it was private team car against factory teams, who's obviously used their influence on governing body, so they go against their own series rules.
And have over 1000Hp all wheel drive and the bad time of 48sec.. Georg Plasa Bmw with 500Hp the half of nissan and rear wheel drive make it in 46.43sec at goodwood 2018 run
As much as it'll get hate from the diehard fans (as I've already seen in the comments) I have to applaud that Rimac for being the only car in this list that is just a road car - an impressive road car, no doubt - but the other 9 were all built for tracks or hillclimbs.
A bit disappointing this year, I really love the FOS, but the shootout was way to short this year, and I really missed the spectacular cars. A Les Mans Prototype, or more recent F1 car, would be really amazing.... Travis Pastranas run was REALLY amazing... would have loved to see the Audi Hoonitron...
Agreed, the delay was also very frustrating too. Stood waiting around like lemons wondering what's going on with no information isn't great organisation
It seemed that a ton of the cars listed on the entry as competing in the shootout never did. Was really weird being there as there was no warning that the shoot out batch was happening after batch 2 as the mclaren and lotus anniversary group (batch 4) should have been before but then changed to be after it. But at that point the cars for the anniversary celebrations were already being staged and moving down to the start amd it seemed to be a big hassle to get the shoot-out cars down to the line
Top 10 except for that car that went more than 6 seconds quicker up the hill this year. A demo run argeuably quicker than the record run last year. So weird it gets hushed.
Goodwood coverage this year was an absolute shambles! Terrible sound quality, video that looked as though it was filmed on an iPhone 1. Interviews were ruined by awful camera angles etc etc. Im not sure what company is responsible for this but your director should be ashamed. Fantastic cars and Motorcycles though.
lol so you did not enjoy the hours of soul destroying south korean hyudai/genisis/kia rolling adverts and the million non nondescript chinese ev brands(to all of the boomers, lotus and MG are NOT british anymore but chinese state owned) that are being product dumped in europe(?!) FOS has sold out and now is a shillfest for the corporations who pay the most ' to 'advertise' their cra p cars disguised as a HiLl cLiMb run.. no one goes to goodwood to watch hyundai group to gaslight that their cars are desirable and display their entire product range..
Gotta love the producer who chose to leave only music playing while that Viper threw itself up the hill, instead of having the commentators talk over it. Don't think that wasn't noticed or appreciated! Such a great sound.
To be fair, the Viper's run was clearly not intended to be a shootout contender lmao, just like how like TWO of their cameras were operational vs a dozen or so that were unmanned and thus needed other lower-quality static cameras to catch the action (like the angle at 4:08 and 4:12 and 4:16).
What happened with the Viper audio? It was the one car I've been most excited to finally go after the course and it was practically ignored despite being a top ten contender.
Just as theres a race against time in the video, it appears that theres a race as to who's going to be the first to post a comment in the comments section...
What isnt shown here is that the Sperling was in the line for a demonstration run at the end. Everyone thought it would be a run like friday where it did acceleration demonstrations outside the house and showed off the tech However it was clear that Chilton was going for it when it came down towards Mulcome and even the comentators looked at the timing hoping to see a time only to announce it had come up as demo with no time
You need to learn more about the world outside of America. The Dodge brand (owned by Chrylser) did not sell the Viper in Europe. The GTS-R was built in Europe, so was mostly known as "Chrysler Viper GTS-R".
Im afraid i agree with other comments, Coverage this year was utterly atrocious. Sound issues, video issues, cars getting missed by the camera men. Oh and sooooo many crashes it was bordering on unacceptable. Time to accept the Hay bales are not suitable when electric cars are present. That Hyundai obliterated every bales and breached the final row meaning they failed their job. Time for a re-think and get some more substantial guard rails in place. As for the hill climb, It was a mistake for McMurtry not to run in the shoot out. Its the fastet car without question and everybody wanted to see it decimate the time... 5 sec difference up a hill that takes a fast car 45s to compelte is utterly mind bogglingly fast. The lack of Justin Law as well was a sad one as well. Missed seeing the Bud Light Jag flying up the hill. Travis is always a spectacle though.
The fastest run of them all was from the Spierling at the end of the shootout but was classed as a demo. I timed it from the live stream at around 41 seconds despite lifting off near the top of the hill. Why is that not classified? The crowd all wanted to see it fly again this year so why was it sidelined this time round?
That ford puma WRC has a 1.6T 380hp with 100hp hybrid battery. faster than Ferrari and gt2RS nearly identical as the 1000hp rimac. Battery on the floor
The best thing to me is that you've got these electric hypercars and crazy stuff going round, and yet an old Viper and an R32 are still keeping up. Now THAT'S how you can spot great engineering :|
the commentator is an impertinence for the automobile world. If you can't even pronounce the word Porsche correctly, you should be forbidden by law to moderate something like that. It's a German car, so pronounce it accordingly. It's not a Porsch, it's a Porsche. the E at the end is not silent. When we talk about Italian cars, we pronounce them Italian. The same with American cars. So if you please, the same for German cars.
