First: No 98 Degrees? No B4-4? Come on people! North American’s should never ever put European artists on music ‘has been’ lists. Put a disclaimer at the beginning of these videos admitting bias about popularity of foreign bands being rated by USA chart success. This list is so out to lunch!
Westlife is definitely not forgotten. Maybe for the North American audience, but they are massive in Europe and Asia. They're currently touring multiple sold out shows in Asia. And their tickets are on high demand.
jessica okoba Nobody remembers Westlife except their fans. They never reached the same celebrity status (or sold) as much as Take That, Backstreet Boys or others. Just ask any random person on the street to name a few boy bands, nobody will say Westlife.
I am in no way a fan of West life but even I can’t deny that they are definitely not forgotten, I don’t think I’ve ever gone to the mall without hearing one of their songs.
CORRECTION: Westlife had 7 consecutive UK # 1’s, a world record, and 14 overall which 3rd highest of any act in the UK. Elvis and the Beetles are the only acts to have more #1’s in the UK then Westlife.
@@Denis-89 I don't think so their Europe concerts is always limited to England, Scotland, Ireland and in the past in those places they didn't have that many fans. I would say One direction and BTS are far more popular than west life in all of Europe.
Dracul warmz do your homework kid. Are you sure only Malaysia and Philippines in Asia? Hahahaha you making me funny. So idiot. They are huge and I must say all over the world except with that fuckin’ US
10:44 the other LFO band member (Devin Lima) also died from cancer in 2018. Which is why they stopped performing in 2018. So only 1 of the band members is still alive. May they Rest in Paradise.
@@saiyongdawn7756 yeah, they can always hire but i doubt they wouldn't be successful anymore cuz only few people know about LFO. The only left guy better do a solo career
I definitely haven’t forgotten Color Me Badd, Next, All-4-One, or Jagged Edge. But it’s sad what happened to LFO: Rich *and* Devin died (the latter last year). 😥
IDIOTS. 98 degrees deserve not to be in this list. Even westlife and Boyzone. They should replace by A1 and The wanted or one direction or Plus 1 or the mofatz.
@@lmamd87 And like when they forced him to come out, the Sun tried to make a big deal of it by hinting it wasn't as natural as was claimed because of the circumstances.
Shell Reilly I remember a journalist suggested it was more sinister circumstances because he was with his husband and they’re gay, so yeah. Sinister!!! What an idiot.
I'm sorry but Westlife shouldn't be here on the list Westlife never reached mainstream success in the US, so it's no surprise you guys "forgot" about them Elsewhere in the world they are more remembered than N'Sync or Backstreet Boys
Westlife was also very successful in Latin America. I believe they were very different from what BSB and NSync had to offer back then. I do enjoy several of their singles
Yeah for some reason they never got much play in the USA. I didn't hear of them until I saw Brian McFadden with Australia's Got Talent and then didn't really go and check them out because I felt that he was a giant douche.
the fact is, Westlife was never big in the US.. so the list is inaccurate to put Westlife on this "forgotten" list If they want to add Westlife, WatchMojo should also add N'Sync and Backstreet Boys
And also in Asia and Europe. It's a shame that they put Westlife on this list just because North American audience only know Westlife by swear it again.
@@leedongwok86 so true, just like when I see list of 100 best boyband song in BB. Only few UK and Irish boyband there and the biggest insult is putting kpop boyband but ignore boyzone and Westlife.
given that westlife currently performs worldwide sold-out stadion shows they are not forgotten... unless the mojo-list only covers the u.s. migtht also be worth mentioning that westlife had a very succesfull comeback late 2018 and girls/women still screams their lungs out, and boyzone also not forgotten... I still feel for their loss when a member just after the comeback died on vacation... maybe more research before publicating weird unrelevant lists
NEXT was not a boy band. They were a regular R&B singing group, who made love making and Quite Storm music. They were respected in the same aspect of Jodeci, Dru Hill, LSG,Jagged Edge (who also is not a boy band)etc. They are still heavily respected within the African American community.
Lisa Greenhill,I came here to say this. Such a shock. My daughter was young and adored him. I still remember having to break the news to her. Such a tragedy.
Boyzone, Westlife and Five were the examples on this list that I seem to have not forgotten about... probably because I at least got radio exposure to them.
Nichole The Otter Oh yeah no, they definitely should not be on this list cause they are far from forgotten. I always hear all of them on the radio like no way are they forgotten
Westlife is big here in Philippines. When I was young, I actually thought that they are actually bigger than Nsync. I grow up with Westlife soundtracks. Memorize all lyrics in their early releases.
Westlife has never been forgotten.. Their songs played in every radio station everyday here in the Philippines 🇵🇭 they are better and popular than any boyband next to Backstreetboys and N'Sync.. Sold out tickets in Asia especially here 🇵🇭
Can you do a list of groups with both guys & girls; like No Doubt, S Club 7, Steps, A-Teens, Ace of Base, Roxette, Black Eyes Peas, ATC, ABBA, etcetera?
True boyband fans remember all of them😜 And btw this is an American list. ....... westlife is still popular in Europe and Asia 😜 Msmojo once again you failed 😜😂
How could I forget Boyzone and Westlife...they’re two of my my all time favourite boy bands xxx I’m a huge fan of both and have seen them many times in concerts over the years xxx
Australian here, I still listen to Five and Westlife in 2023, I was literally just listening to Five in the car hence why I looked up boy bands on RU-vid lol
Dream Street should have AT LEAST been an honorable mention considering they were more known than some of the boybands on this countdown and spawned Jesse McCartney who was a big Disney star at one point.
Boyzone and Westlife should not be on this list. They just had a successful tour last month here in Asia. Is that your definition of forgotten?? You need a better researcher, MsMojo!
Might be different on your side of the pond but nobody in UK has forgotten boyzone, blue, 5ive, westlife. Some of these are still played on the radio & still haunt wedding receptions! 😂
It's funny my daughter who is 27 and I were talking about Soul Decision a few days ago. They really were a big thing in Canada and a lot of people loved their music. 😊😊
Whoever forgets N'sync and backstreetboys they make poor life choices Edit: for ppl who don't agree with me this I just in my opinion.also thanx for da likes xx
Boy Band connoisseur here and I can tell you that I've forgotten none of these. Even though some of these were more popular overseas (Westlife, Boyzone, BB Mak, etc.), they weren't unheard of in the USA. Hell, I even had a friend in Scotland bring me a Westlife CD when she visited the USA and I LOVED it! You should've played "Swear It Again" since that's the song most US fans would remember. Next, Jagged Edge, (and arguably All-4-One) is more of an R&B group than a stereotypical pop boyband. I'd put them in the same category as Boyz II Men, New Edition, Az Yet, Silk, etc., which most don't consider boybands.
Forgotten i don't think so. I am 90s i don't forget Boyzone Backstreet boys Westlife A1 Trademark C21 Otown Plus one Boys 2 men Azyet Nsync Mofatts Blues Savage garden 98 degrees All for one Chilhood 90s never forget
I don't think Westlife and boyzone deserved in this list, people still remember them now. I think it's more suitable if u put 911 or A1 in that list!!!
I love 911, but yes they deserve to be in the list rather than BZ and Westlife. 5ive makes sense too since they were invited to participate in ITV's The Big Reunion
Maybe it's because I live in England but Boyzone, Westlife, and 5ive are definitely not forgotten! I liked 5ive, Another Level and Blue because they had more dance-y music than Westlife. O-Town are my favourites from this list: watched the show from the beginning, so was v excited when they finally released an album.
I didn't forget any of these!! Especially souldecision, jagged edge and 5ive which i was just listening to the other day too!! which i was just listenin to the other day! I was committed to the boy band life!!! LFO was amazing but there is only one member left now sadly...devin passed away...Anybody remember youngstown???!! They weren't on this list...but they were kind of a big deal for a little bit
I will never ever forget Westlife. Even my parents still play their CDs. We usually sing it in karaoke. When they went on a tour here in the Philippines last July 2019, our whole family attended it. Westlife is like one of the few things we like together
The nostalgia is HUGE! Absolutely all of these bands followed the same formula and to this day it amazes me how so many got to be so successful at least for a short period of time when ultimately they were all the same, very little difference between each band.
