Hollup What if I did a creepypasta That starts out as a crappypasta But it turns out the main character was just reading a crappypasta and then the main character is haunted by the monster in the crappypasta and the REAL story is actually well-written and original? Will it be scary or will the crappypasta beginning throw off the rest of the story?
poppy thedogofwonders I've actually been thinking about it a bit to be honest. So far I'm thinking it could be something like "the author of the crappypasta was trying to warn people, but their writing just sucks so nobody took it seriously". It also probably shouldn't be an actual "creepypasta" in the story, or it'll break everything. I'm a bit worried that the start could turn out contrived or clichéd. And with the beginning being an awful false-start, I'm going to have to hit everything flawlessly in the rest of the startup or I won't be able to establish tension later. It's going to be tricky trying not to lose the readers with the first paragraph but greater feats of writing have been done.

ngl blank eyes are scary if theyre done right example: completely blank expression, mouth always slightly open, eyes are 2 black / white / hollow dots, with no thought behind them. theyre powered by animalistic instincts.

It's been about 5 years since I first watched this Crappypasta trilogy, and I have to say that it's had an irreversible effect on my sense of humor. Don't ask me why, but the phrases "Help I'm haunted!", "and you work at the McDonald's Monday through Friday 11 AM to 6 PM", and the way you say "THE WOMAN IN THE THEATER" all live in my head rent free, and there's no way I'll ever be able to explain it to any of my friends or loved ones. Glad you've kept this series up for all these years! Even if you're not as active in the Creepypasta community, I'm still definitely one of your biggest fans, Hoodo 😊

Therina Santana 11+ months late but exactly! I am a morbid fucker who knows waay to much about murderers, plane crasges and basically anything that has to do with death. I don't think I'd ever write something that glorifies murder or that makes psychosis a "cool" thing. Though, if I'd write a scary story, it would probably be a bit H.P Lovecraft inspired...
Blood changes color when it dries, turning into more of mahogany when put onto white materials, which is why it's so hard to replicate real blood effects in films. If people were to research they might be able to make something a bit more frightening. I have a bad habit of picking at my toe nails and the skin around them, so they tend to bleed from time to time, I'm making an effort to stop this habit but that's how I know what dried blood looks like.
