It's not often but there's been many times in my life where I've just binge watched all of my fave Red Nose Day sketches, they're so underrated and have made me laugh every time
Ryan Vincett basically half of them will only know daniel craig and rowan Atkinson and they will have never have seen little britain or the Catherine tate show .
I mean, if they know Doctor Who and Game of thrones, they'd only not get Graham Norton (but would still get Borat), Alan Partridge and Tony Maloney , and maybe Ricky Gervais. Even though I am American, the only one I didn't get was Alan and Tony. I see Graham Norton pop up constantly on BBC America, and Love Doctor Who. +HotStuff And Posh Spice if they Grew up in the 80s/90s thanks to Spice Girls. Plus Simon Cowell I'd say is fairly well known here too.
How could you leave out the Call the Midwife spoof? I was ROFL through the whole thing, and when Matt Smith showed up after the husband asked for a proper doctor, I fell on the floor literally!
My favourite comic relief sketch is with Little Britain where the guy that usually pushes the wheelchair is pushing Stephen Hawking...who then transforms into a mech.
I hate American sitcoms I mean I really fucking hate them but their comedy movies are alright but the British far better at comedy than the Americans and that's not going against the Americans as they do TV dramas better than the Brits.
haha ok :) well you're entitled to your opinion lol can't do much about my name... i'm not sure what you're thinking is going to happen here though? I think maybe I offended you and I am sincerely apologise if that's the case - it is only a pronunciation after all and I guess British people have weird pronunciations too :) anyway, have a good day!
I get confused between: Comic Relief Red Nose Day/ Sports Relief/ Children in Need. All are on for the same amount of time and have celebrities doing sketches.
Splendid...for the kids in poverty. "God has not said that there are mansions prepared for us if we pass our time associating with the rich, but He has said there are many mansions prepared for the servants of the poor, for the poor are very dear to God. The mercies and bounties of God are with them." ~ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, Baha'i Faith
While I applaud "Red Nose Day coming to America", Comic Relief has been going on here since 1985. Billy Crystal, Robin Williams and Whoopi Goldberg started the relief fund here in the U.S. with an Annual HBO special that lasted at least 7 years before HBO quit airing them.
This is a pretty rubbish list. Comic Relief has a history of nicker wettingly funny sketches with the best comedians in the country, some absolute classics that are just unmissable. You did pick q few of them but I think you missed out an awful lot of them because you're just going for sketches with celebrities Americans will recognise and that really is not the strength of Comic Relief. That's why you put the Game of Thrones sketch at number 1 despite it being relatively week, and the Simon Cowell and Ricky Gervais ones did not belong on this load. For one thing you missed out a hilarious spoof of Harry Potter where Dawn French plays Harry and Ronnie Corbert plays Hagrid (search Harry Potter Comic Relief). Having said all this Comic Relief has been getting less and less funny. One explanation I've heard is that in the past it was all live and people got drunk and THINGS WENT WRONG. It was wild and outrageous same thing goes for the sketches they made. The fact that it's being shown in America is good for the charity but a bad sign for the comedy. They'll be making more generic comedy that appeals to a wide audience which intrinsically means it's simpler and safer. There'll be fewer things that take risks or try to be original. It will also be more tame (your rules and attitudes are for more stringent in America than we are in Britain, as an example we allow far more swearing over hear and we use that extremely well).
My question is why did it take us in the USA so long to participate? I mean we here do pay pbs to support British Comedy..ijs in this pick I love Mr Bean...
The GoT one is great and all but it's so typical to put the number one choice as the only one America did when they only just bandwagon'd on RND recently
Wasn't aware of how much a top ten list could suck the funny out of all it's entries. These sketches are usually just okay but presenting them like this removes all the humour and context.
