One of the far better lists I've seen, though a couple of positions could be changed. I would have put Tesla at number two. But Da Vinci showed outstanding knowledge in every field covered. Departmental intelligence cannot be compared to a full 360° range of intelligence. But overall a great list.

I think you have Tesla far too low on your list and you have Da Vinci too high at number 1.Tesla worked on a much higher plane than did Da Vinci. While da Vinci worked in the concrete physical world of nuts , bolts, and gears, Tesla worked in abstract world and brought his ideas to the physical world to enhanced the life of billions of people. Da Vinci, although a brilliant theorist, could not and did not bring his inventions to practical fruition. None of his flying machine ever flew, his tank and multi-barreled cannon never fought on a battle field (artillery was far too heavy at the time to be effectively mobile), and his diving suit never slipped under the waves for more than a couple of trial runs. Seriously, there is no comparison between the two.
