@wckdaintgood it's true though. He plays the same character just in different situations. Half this list suffers the same problem though. Most of these actors are typecasted.
They should have said Greatest Hollywood actors of all time. Because there are thousands of actors worldwide who can be better actors than all these guys in the list.
They also left the females out. Cate Blanchett, Meryl Streep, Viola Davis, Octavia Spencer. Also, before someone says, “they said actors not actresses” actor is commonly used to describe males and females.
@@PlayoffChickenwho cares about what Indians think lol their movies suck I would put Amir Khan here for sure he is just at that level but any other Indian actor shouldn’t be in the list at all. If you look at it even Brad Pitt is not in the list which is crazy if you saw his war daddy movie
he's a solid actor, but he's not one of the best. him gaining and losing a lot of weight is cool, but there are better actors. that being said, tom hanks is not one of the better actors.
Should be on here aside from the others mentioned: Richard Burton, Clark Gable, Tom Cruise, Dustin Hoffman, Sydney Portier, Marcelo Mastroianni, Sir Anthony Hopkins,
@@lukacalov1988 Denzel Washington has been playing the same “stern black man in some form of power or authority” role for 30 years. He’s a shit actor. In fact, he’s not even an actual actor, his personality just fits that archetype so Hollywood force feeds him to us every time they get a script that fits. Denzel hasn’t done a single movie that another actor couldn’t do just as well, If not better.
@@Bilski86 the difference is when DDL goes all in on his character I forget that it is DDL and he makes it feel like this is the first time I'm meeting his person. Where every character Leo plays I still see Leo.
Humphrey bogart, Walter Brennan, strother martin, Burgess Meredith, sir Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, sir Ralph Richardson etc. I'm sick of people thinking history only started after they were born. Oh hell, Harry Dean Stanton, Donald Sutherland, how many more do you want.
Not really. He is a great actor ngl, and the fact that he does his own stunts is amazing, but he always has the same role. Those roles are great, but not enough imo for a top tier😢
@@lukecalos4442 “always has the same role”? Cmon. He had a ton of variety from the late 80s through the 90s. The firm. A few good men. Jerry McGuire. Eyes wide shut. Color of money. Rain man. Cocktail. Far and away. You’re probably not old enough to have seen his early career and prime , thinking all he does is action lol.
@@dapper892 cuz that's what makes him famous rn. If you ask a random person "what kind of film is Tom Cruise in" 100% will tell you action. And the reason is pretty simple, he is INCREDIBLY good in them. Am I saying that his other films are forgettable? No, but there is a reason why he was always cast in action movies in the last 20 years... he is good and rememberable in all of them (and probably they satisfy him the most)
Here’s my top 11 1. Bruce Willis 2. Burt Reynolds 3. Alec Baldwin 4. Harrison Ford 5. Jack Nicholson 6. Clint Eastwood 7. Sylvester Stallone 8. Tom Cruise 9. Keanu Reeves 10. Vin Diesel 11. Tommy Lee Jones Classical Actors 1. Gregory Peck 2. Humphrey Bogart 3. Jimmy Stewart
Hmm Whitey Bulger, the guy he played in Blow, What's eating Gilbert Grape, Donnie Brasco, John Dillinger, Ed Wood, Hunter Thompson and probably more..also character acting takes just as much if not more work than just imitating.
Morgan freeman in the top ten is puzzling. He's certainly an iconic actor and is arguably an important actor in one of the greatest movies but not top 10.
DDL is within Top 3 All Time, with Brando and Nicholson. Pacino and De Niro is within Top 5. Then you start 6-10 with Tom Hanks or DENZEL WASHINGTON. Denzel Washington according to polls, is the greatest actor of the 21st Century, how tf he’s not even there?
@@thewanderingwolves90 no Jim Carrey is never chosen among top 20 You don't know enough good actors. It is criminal for you to say that he belongs even in top 10🙃
1 marlon brando 2 jack nicholson 3 Robert di Niro 4 Denzil Washington 5 Al pacino 6 Tom Hanks 7 Morgan Freeman 8 samuel L jackson 9 Daniel Day Lewis 10 Leonardo Di Caprio
Except he was one of the best actors at one point, still watch his movies because both my grandparents were huge fans. My grandpa Jerry was a true cowboy and I still watch his movies especially when I think of my grandpa.
"wow Daniel day lewis" like hes should be number 1, literally never had a bad performance, and his oscar wins are some of if not the most deserved oscars of all time.
The Rock???? You should leave immediately. Grow some taste. I'll bet you've never heard of real actors with depth and variety. Jack Lemmon, Laurence Olivier, John Gielgud, David Niven, Gene Hackman, Spencer Tracy, Paul Newman, Dustin Hoffman........
@enriquegonzalez2269 congrats, my point stands lol. Just because hes one of the biggest stars now does not mean hes top 10 all time lol. I love Pitt but hes not better than the others on this list.
This is like those greatest atheletes of all time list filled with basketball and American football players, half of whom no one outside the US has ever heard about
