Yeah, it feels kinda weird seeing modern guns, and I'm not talking about 70s/80s guns (those would be lore friendly), I mean the REALLY modern guns like the MCX Spear, even tho i love that gun
Hey, if your stuff is unique and it deserves to be on a top ten, then no need to make an excuse about adding your own mod on the list. There aren't any, or very few heavy handmade weapons, and you made one? Then hell yeah, put it on the list, it belongs there.
their skeleton preventing many weapons from being compatible. one example would be the Hunting shotgun. if you see an unarmed SM, you will know that he is having a shotgun in his inventory
@@TheProAtPUBG The pack has been done for quite a while, "The Heavy Weapons Pack" and also a few months after that one the 'Heavy Energy Weapon Combo Deal" came out.
@@justagatior411 I suppose, but I'm not sure how it could've been worse. Scratch that, the vanilla pipe weapons system is functionally pretty versatile.
I would also like Junk Category(someone with barely basic understanding of weapon making and lot of junk materials, eg pipe guns(just put the bolt on the other side)), Makeshift(someone with good knowledge of weapon making and junk for material, egthe Anti Material rifle and the Laser Musket, Zap gun and Crude Blowback) and Manufactured (someone has the industrial power to make it, think Gun Runners and Pre war tech.) would be good to have and epand the arsenal. I even think 3d printing would fit the Fallout Universe.
@@drivanradosivic1357 what about a category where the person making the weapon has high quality equipment and materials but a poor understanding of weapon making
@@badideagenerator2315 that would be Kitbash or Bubba tier, but please do not make it a thing, I had enough of it from watching Cursed guns videos of the COD Weaponsmith. that said, while I think something like schematics for more unique weapons is needed and for some using the Idiot Savant as a requirement, I don't want a cursed gun out of it.
Dak, I've gotta say, I'm loving your work. This attempt at a playthrough I'm modding up right now is using Weapon Overhauls Redux for vanilla weapons, your Skewer and Pulse Carbine, and some assorted lore-friendly weapons alongside Equipment Crafting Overhaul. I also grabbed your Assault Rifle and Combat Rifle mods since Weapon Overhauls Redux has compatibility patches for them, and I can't wait for your Shoulder Mounted Machinegun mod to come out! Really happy that you're making your SMMG a proper heavy-weapon using .50 caliber rounds, too. Once that's ready I'll definitely be adding it to my load order.
i actually dig the aesthetic of the rusted metal, as much as people complain about the ORANGE lol. but i do wish there was more actual gun parts mashed in too, make it viable from low to mid tier with the lower pipe weapons looking more like the vanilla pipe weapons and the mid tier looking somewhat like an actually viable firearm lol
Man this is a cool video....u could make a whole series of (hanmade and scrabe made weapons) ....it fits fo4 lore so much and it looks waaaaay cooler than those bad non lore friendly modern tactical fps crab weapon mods
It's true; all those ported weapons from MW; Battlefield; killing floor etc are definitely NOT lore friendly but when you pour so many hours into a game sometimes you want something new; at least that is my experience
@@marcosmilicijapenotti3162 I would argue that Fallout accepts at least 20th century and light alt history arsenal since the G11 was a possible candidate for new service rifle of Pre War America, and something like the Whiney Wolverine, EM-2 and other guns of this nature are also possible arsenal additions. Modern looking things might work with wooden furniture.
@@drivanradosivic1357 it's hard to say what could be completely lore friendly, to me infantry weapons of the cold war seems plausible, and no not everything there has wood furniture. Just look up infantry weapons of the cold war if anyone's curious.
@@VoN0VoX1035 I know, but my point was that since Fallout has weapons with wood furniture and polymer, that could be included in the arsenal. Hell, the m14 platform was in New Vegas.
My pick? The Trumpet-like LAER Rifle that I re-named the "Ragdoller" it was fun to watch as I sent Raiders, Gunners, Ferals and the like flying like well, ragdolls.
honestly, i dont think anyone minds if u include some of ur own creation inbetween, they are always realy well made and thought through, and honestly u deserve as much recognition for ur creations as the other modders, ur mods bring ppl fun and enjoyment too u know ^_~
Modders of these pipe weapons would've been contact to install these weapons in the base game of Fallout 4 special next gen edition in the future along with the other Fallout games as remastered.
it would be dope if they had more featured tabs for a next gen update, say like, featured pipe weapons, energy weapons, or even just an encompassing lore friendly weapon tab, that with some picked out quest mods and stuff would be very cool
For anyone who hates vanilla pipe weapons and wants to replace them with something lore friendly and not change the damage stats I would recommend, Post-Apocalyptic Homemade Weapons Replacer - Pipe Weapons
I've got that mod, it's fantastic, makes every pipe weapon look unique, and way better looking. I believe the mod author also redid the laser Musket as well, two mods that are usual suspects in my load order.
Hey there Dak, I would very much like to see a Top 10 lore friendly Sniper Rifles mod video. I really love your videos and I am a huge sniper rifle fan.
I really enjoyed using the militia gun I put it as his own download so it loads with the pipe guns and every other weapon it's really cool and I get a lot of Magnum ammo from it and having the gun that you get a bunch of different ammo to mod the weapon like you mentioning with this video for the militia gun
variety keeps the game interesting ^^ and wow that Handmade Revolver is exactly how i would imagine most guns would look 200 years after an Apocalypse! very well made, great showcase of what modders are capable of ^^ overall alot good weapon mods in this one, indefinitly better than anything the base game has to offer imo ^^
Thank you man mostly I want to play fallout four a little different to make it more like a mad Max theme but I recommend a mod that everyone might like. Wasteland imports it has 100 different types of crafting recipes. You can do in different stuff from the Mojave wasteland. Plus it’s fun to craft all these different things. It really brings up the role-play experience of you being like a soul survivor
Re-watching this and thinking about it I wish you could put more raider theme weapons like almost like that. They are literally made out of pipe, duct tape, and wood and barely hold together, but they pack a punch.
Another great pipe/handmade gun mod is the pipe shotgun pack. It’s like -10mb yet adds probably THE most customizable weapon mods next to something like the mk18. I mean it has single, double, tri, quad barrels all break action. Mag fed Semi automatic receiver. Lots of muzzle options, and more. Plus it’s integrated into LL. Dunno if retextures are possible-so it’s kinda ugly. But it’s a must have for me.
I think some of the handmade guns from the Metro franchise could fit in fallout 4 for example the bike-gun(revolving shotgun), duplet(double barrel), the bastard(smg)
Yeah, the Bi-Gun was a neat one, I loved the Duplet's later upgrades (Especially Quad-Barrel), and you can't disregard how awesomely tense reloading the shells on the Shambler was while mutants were swarming you. The Bastard is also a pretty neat weapon, but I also like the Tihar pneumatic weapon and the Hellsing pneumatic crossbow.
A cool mod made of scraps and vanilla assets and better than pipe guns is the rat runners arsenal and Nina's pipe gun replacer (personal bias but great mods)
How does the Blowback compare mechanically to pipe weapons? I like it visually, but unless it has all the same stats and modifications, I wouldn't feel comfortable making it a replacer. Same goes for other handmade weapon mods that are similar to pipe guns.
I think it is more viable for mid-game. It starts appearing, at least in the Raider mod combo I use, about level 15. Good for close quarters, because: a) automatic fire that isn't too fast and has decent damage per shot; b) double bayonet. Can be modified to use .38 and later .308. Feels more satisfying to use, if that makes sense.
Hey @Degenerate Dak, I have an idea for an interesting new makeshift laser weapon that I don't have the skill to design myself. Namely an improved laser musket using the Springfield 1886 trapdoor rifle as a base similarly to how Starwars did with the Amban phase-pulse blaster (The scoped long rifle from the Mandalorian TV series.), let me know what you think.
I know it’s not the same as the rest of these because it doesn’t add anything, but Nina’s Pipe Gun Replacer makes the vanilla pipe weapons look a lot nicer Edit: Also, is he/ are you using the regrowth mod? Or is it some other one?
Just fyi the handmade shotgun causes crashes outside of diamond city on xbox not sure why, could be mod conflicts or the extra guass and fire components being placed around. be careful
Hey Dak, could you post a tutorial on how to combine weapon mods into a single pack? Or is that something you could do? It would be awesome to save some active mod space - and I'm fairly green at modding FO4 without killing it.
I'll be honest, I will integrate the handmade AMR to my next playthrough, but you can't pay me to even use one of these things. Also the last one is basically the Obama medal meme lol
@@DegenerateDak So they just like tape that happens to be the color blue then? Is it a reference or hidden meaning? Why is blue preferable to black? What about silver? The internet is a very strange place.
Honorable mention: Pipe Assault rifle by vaultsquirell. Immersive, small size, nothing too innovative in terms of animation but the customization is stupidly fun
That pipe revolver is a terrible design. There's nothing to stop the case from ejecting and exploding immediately after you fire. There is also no top strap to hold these parts together while they are under pressure. The metal rod keeping these parts together, being so distant from the barrel would cause the entire thing to break or bend with the first shot.
While the pipe weapons fit in with the lore I think the Maine problems with them is how weak they can be especially when compared to other venila weapons and while the way they look makes sense I think the colors are the weakest part of there esthetic
it always bothers me whenever i see sprinting with a revolver modded to be a reasonably lengthed rifle or longer because for some reason no matter the length it just warps the image to make the end of the barrel at a certain point on the screen and its so annoying
If possible can ya do a lore friendly mod for more creatures to add to the game or more quests/areas that are lore friendly. I’ve been searching for quest related mods that aren’t just one and done
id like to know a list of weapons to stay away from (like not intergrated to the level lists) im pretty sure my weapon mods and armour mods cause CTDs for me.
Degenerate Dak come on, I am trying to do a play through and you keep putting my mod list in danger of changing (to the point where I will need a new game). Thanks for the mod recommendations and even your own mods. I like the lore friendly-ish mods.
Fo4 still broken on xbox, no mods, in game suck, survial too easy I quit and uninstalled after I got up to and through the diner with only a 10mm, yes rescued preston and company with only a 10mm " hardened " to be exact. Boring and broke now FU Todd
