Absolutely great comment. If we practice well and to our tastes we are individuals and no one can be better at ourselves than another .We are individuals.It is simply a part of our minds,souls and the technique we use. And the circumstances with which we have lived.Hell I have been playing for almost 40 years and my wife got a series of claps in some song down before I did tonight .Oh, well. She had a better understanding of it before I did. And am I said to be pretty talented on the drums. But I loved that she did that. It made me think. Anything is possible for anyone if they believe. My wife didn’t analyze it ,she just did it believing in the space she was in. I was analyzing and failed. Awesome slap from the universe for me.

Speak for yourself, I LOVE Lars especially because of how much he’s responsible for in terms of the music Metallica has created over the last nearly 40 years! There are few if any drummers who are so involved in the songwriting process. Lars only gets hate because it’s “cool and edgy” to hate on him. People wanted to hate on him for the Napster shit, but guess what, HE WAS 100% RIGHT! Look at the state of the music industry now, I mean Apple won’t even let you buy music anymore, you only get to rent it, for a bullshit fee every month and once you decide to stop you lose it all! Dude the hardest I’ve ever seen Dave Grohl hit the drums is when Nirvana played Lithium at the VMA’s. the camera cuts to him on the first chorus and he’s not only head banging from all the way sitting up to almost hitting his head on the snare but he’s hitting the crashes and snare so fucking hard it’s unreal.

People just have very short term memory or they just weren't there at all and think they know better . When Lars came on the scene in 1982 he was the first guy to play those types of beats and fills, it was AMAZING, I can still feel the smile that came to my face when Hit the lights came on the first time on my turn table , a game changer !! It was followed by a lots and lots of imitators. Ever see Metallica live? Lars is a monster, he gives everything he has like not too many drummers out there. I saw Metallica in 1983 in a small auditorium in Quebec city , when the drum started , I was crying FFS , it was too awesome.

Morgan is an incredible drummer, no question. Our bands both rehearsed in the same place, and Sevendust were right across the hall from us. We both would show up early for rehearsal, to get some practice in. It was fun trading 4's across the hall, and he would beat the hell out of that kit. We were both in heavy bands, but had different styles and setups. The Atlanta music scene was so awesome back then, everyone would hang out after rehearsal and just chill. The rehearsal space was attached to a live music club, it was the place to be in the 90's.

@@Danoftheconda Sadly true, I pretty much only listen to Ten and Vs. also because of the drumming, but also the overall sound got softer, it kinda moved to like that ballad thing, I feel like it's nothing really memorable anymore. The first two albums are amazing tho. The drum work on Ten by Dave Krusen is amazing aswell. Tho Dave Abbruzzese's my personal drum hero.

@@artursruseckis4242 Its the style of the band, and since Igor and Eloy both hit harder than Lars (and two of the most powerful hitters in history), I don't see how its unfair to have Igor and Eloy and leaving off Lars. I feel like Lars is the best and worst thing to happen to metal drumming. Pretty much every metal drummer under 40 would be lying if they said that Lars wasn’t among their original idols. His influence can be heard in bands coming out today. But the better you get at drums, the more you realize that his beats sound harder and heavier than they actually are. It’s kind of like when you get old enough to realize that your dad isn’t actually a super hero. And then you listen to St Anger, and you treat Lars like the racist uncle that always shows up to thanksgiving, even though no one invited him.

@@annikancrylarker3314 look up Joey Jordison Creeping Death. There was a Metallica show awhile back where something happened to Lars, and he couldn’t play. So the drummers from the other bands split the set list up and filled in. I think Dave Lombardo was on that show as well.

I heard in an interview after being asked why he hits the drums so hard, Dave Grohl said he didnt have drums so he learned on pillows. imagine how hard you have to hit a pillow to get a cymbal sound out of it. i suppose speed and compression could change the molecular makeup of the feathers and cloth. Though not scientifically verified, it is said Dave forged his drum set from hitting pillows purchased at walmart. The math also says if he continues to beat the same drums, they will eventually turn to anti-matter thus ending all existence which is why he occasionally switched up drum kits and now plays guitar...just to be safe. Thank you for your sacrifice Mr. Grohl.

Dave is who I thought of when entering this video. He killed those symbols in the 90s. Pretty sure he had to have wrist surgery because of it even. Though he is often forgot about outside of Pearl Jam fans. Probably because he does not have many videos online that aren't of old PJ concerts. Just FYI, if you hurt yourself while playing the drums, you should really look into changing your technique. I play electric bass and double bass mainly and I know people who have been unable to play for months or even more because they ignored pain they got while playing their instruments.
