Lets don't even talk about the fact that you have a chance to save your game during XY cutscene right before that small talk with Rival & friendly trio and you have a chance to check your Pokemon after that scene, basicaly making this video worthless.

hunting for tapu koko was harder cause 1. long ass cutscene 2. no saving. once you beat the champion (not gonna spoil it) you're gonna go through a LONG ass cutscene. that directly drags you to the battle with tapu koko. 3. it has a 0% chance of being shiny. (damn shiny locks)

Quick fix on the XY Starters: You can indeed check the starters before the battle with Shauna. You regain control of your character before the battle, and can check the summary then. It shaves off about 10-15 seconds from each soft reset.

Yes! Finally someone else knows. You can check your starter as soon as the cutscene of getting it finishes! You just gotta save before the cutscene, pick your starter, and then check your pokemon while you're still sitting down!

I actually found munchlax super quick recently when I played a Japanese version of Pearl. I also caught feebas in my coronet in the same game. That took me 3 hours though. Also found a shiny medicham on my way up to the 7th gym.

10:45 Funny story... In ORAS, I was fishing in that route to try and find a Feebas. Not even a shiny Feebas, just a regular Feebas. And before I found one, I found a shiny Magickarp

The exact same thing happened to me in SoulSilver once, but I was looking for a Snubbull. And guess what? I found TWO Shiny Magnemite, but NEVER found Snubbull. Absolutely insane.

Very recently I got Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and I wanted a Milotic on my team that had the best ability competitively and the right IVs. I got a Feebas and used the DexNav to get my desired Feebas. I also had a modest synchronizer in my party, but when I got to a Feebas with the IVs or ability that wasn’t desirable, I would keep my synchronizer out of the lead to save PP. After a few attempts of trying to get the ones that run away really fast, I did another DexNav and saw that it wasn’t that great and switched out my synchronizer. I then encountered it to find it was shiny and I was completely shocked. I was both happy and upset that I switched out my synchronizer, but I remember how RNG worked (due to my days of RNG manipulation) and the more I thought about it, the more I knew that if I didn’t switch out the synchronizer, I wouldn’t of gotten the shiny in the first place. When I was done with the game, I knew that I wanted my Milotic to get every ribbon she can get and as of right now, she is done with Hoenn and Kalos (for now) and ready to conquer Alola

It is disgusting that i got shiny Combee and Salandit female first try in Scarlet and Violet I had Shiny Charm, Sparkling boost and and Outbreak so the odds were 1/4096 including the 1/8 gender ratio

Considering you only can grind with Audino, I'd say that's the easier one to get, considering you encounter so much more than others. Even then, shiny is shiny, so I'd still be thrilled too. Lol

I think that number 2 should be munchlax, for the simple fact the pain of getting 1 non shiny is so hard and the honey trees take so long to reset.

So basically, my brother told me to just search areas in pokemon HG and to flee if I didn't encounter one out of the 3 legendary dogs. I remember years ago when I wanted to start my Kalos journey with a Shiny male Chespin for my third X playthrough. I would spend a little while on random days trying it, but I gave up after less than 100 tries. Now, in June 2019, I wanted to try again, and luckily after around 10 soft resets, I actually got a male Shiny Chespin and I was able to continue with my shiny starter for the first time.

@@shadowxwrld I agree with the colors. It always reminds me of Autumn with the dark reds, yellows, and browns. But since you have time to do it, you should try it. My suggestion is before starting the long sequence, go to the settings menu and change the text speed to fast to make things quicker and chang it back when done.

@Henry Bergeson Might be hacked, to get Manaphy you need to play rangers, then you can get a manaphy egg on ONE savefile (not sure if you can do it on multiple savefiles) but it does mean you would have to get access to mystery gifts, redeem manaphy, if not shiny make a new savefile and repeat

For the shiny Froslass and shiny Galade, you can increase the chances of getting the right gender if you use a Pokemon with cute charm as it's ability. Cute charm, if you didn't know, increases the encounter rate of Pokemon of the opposite gender in the wild.

The best way in short words: - Beat 4 Ranger copies - Send over the 4 eggs - Trade the eggs to a new savefile - Hatch and if not shiny, soft reset so they are eggs again - in the meantime create a new savefile on a different Gen 4 game - trade them over and hatch there - repeat until you created a gen 4 savefile which hatches the shiny Manaphy It's still one of the hardest hunts for sure, but you don't have to buy millions of Ranger copies as many people think. But great video! That was a lot of research for both of you!

Looking back at this, I'd first like to say WOW DALLAS WENT 70K ON REGISTEEL, and the gen 2 hatching scene has changed a lot with more research into how the DV mechanics work, so we now know that breeding for a shiny can either be impossible or have a 1/64 chance with the right setup! Zeku Because just finding one is so incredibly cryptic and luck based that I'm not entirely convinced that anyone has found out how to find it by themself. Basically, you need to find a Corsola, which are only a 1% encounter rate off the coast of Hau'oli City, though it gets raised to 20% in bubbling areas. Then, you need to get it to call for help, which only consistently happens when it's at low HP/has an Adrenaline Orb used on it. _Then,_ you need to hope that their call for help actually gets answered, which seems to be a 50/50 shot, and then, and only then, do you have a *20% chance* for a Mareanie to answer the cry. It's completely insane.

shiny manaphy can be got a lot easier from dpp by trading it to another game and hatching the egg, if you don't get it on that game, soft reset before the egg was hatched and trade it again. this effectively only requires 2 games to do it and the manaphy egg

I caught one when I was like 8, I just read it was on that route and proceeded to catch one. Had no idea how rare they were, I just wanted a milotic. Didn't know the prerequisite for its evolution (max cuteness) and trained it to level 74....

The sad thing about shiny pokemon is how easy it would be to hack them in-game. It's kinda sad that real shinies are overlooked due to all the hacked ones. As for a bit of a story, I have a legitimate shiny milotic on moon. I also got it from the TRADING NETWORK of all things. The dude was Japanese, and wanted a wailmer. I took the deal thinking it was probably hacked, but oddly enough, it was a bred shiny with a real mark.
