Code Veronica for me because if you don't distribute your inventory right, you have to start the game over. Also, you have limited ink ribbons. This is one of the reasons Code Veronica is one of my favorite RE games.
Yeah I remember playing through it as a kid. By the time I got to final boss battle I had maybe one healing item left. After a few attempts I got lucky and finished the battle without taking too much damage.
I remember when Resident Evil 3 Nemesis came out, my friend had a chipped PS1 and he had a Japanese version 5 months before it was released in the UK. We finished it within a day and was unbelievably hard because we obviously couldn't read Japanese, but it was awesome. Resident Evil 2 is my favourite in the series but Resident Evil 3 Nemesis will always be a very close 2nd because if that experience.
Definitely code Veronica, one reason I feel that some people want the game to be remade so bad is not just because of mostly how bad Steve burnside was characterized and voiced in peoples opinions, it’s because of how damn hard the game is with it being combined the classic tank controls, there’s moments in that game where it would basically be the end of the game for them because they didn’t have enough ammo and didn’t feel like reloading saves to get more ammo, this game is gonna be amazing if they nail it like the RE4 remake.
True, so much true. But instead of parrying with the knife Claire would shove/kick zombies away into walls or to other zombies, she mostly is meet with these circumstances anyways
RE 5 is easy through chapters 1-4 but from Ch. 5 onwards, it becomes a nightmare. When I 1st played it, I was so burned out that I didn't want to play it again.
@@4dhumaninstrumentality789 my first play through I didn’t use any grenade launcher ammo thank god. I basically had to unload with my grenades in that room to get by.
You mean worst. It doesn’t compare to 0. 1, 2, 3, 4 or any of the remakes (except resi R3). I personally found the landscape, limited resources and frustrating puzzles too much.
1000% agree. Code Veronica used to haunt me i was one of those unlucky people that didnt have enough ammo at the tyrant plane fight and i had to do a FULL game restart at like 12 years old. cried and didnt come back for like 3 years LMAO
You don't need to shoot him once during the battle. Hit the tyrant with the cargo load 5 or 6 times and he'll fly out of the airplane. He starts leaving a trail of blood and attacking slower as you damage him, making it easier as you go. If you use the B.O.W. gas rounds he takes less hits
1year and some months for me to finish all campaigns on RE6 that gigantic B.O.W. 'slime ' so annoying and difficult in hard mode to beat it that made me to quit RE6 for so long time !!
How tf do u run out of ammo in CVX, there's ammo and health like everywhere😂 You can kill every single enemy and still have a plethora of resources left
I’ve died countless times to RE3R’s final boss because of the tempo of his attacks. Nemesis purposefully does a few fast attacks then delays the next one so if you early dodged you’re dead
It was easy for me RE3 remake and i passed final boss in 2 or 3 times and White hairy guy with 1 shot 😂😂 , you should try to finish all hero campaigns on RE6 on hard mode and to face all those annoying difficult and ' never surrender ' bosses , especially B.O.W 'slime' so annoying for me to beat it that made me to quit RE6 for many months until to finish it ( about a year or more ) it brokes my nerves to beat the annoying gigantic Slime 😂😂
I found the resident evil hd remaster to be the hardest. The thing that made it so hard was the fact that the mansion was so big and packed with engines and the mansion has way too little ink ribbons and you can get them all instantly instead of getting them as you progressed
RE0 on hard mode works better with the “drop item” mechanic. Since you are given fewer resources to manage, there’s a lot less backtracking for items. Doesn’t make anything “easier,” but keeps the play through more fluid. Also, enemies are easy enough to avoid IF you’re working with a single character. Even though Billy and Rebecca can be together through most of the training facility, they often don’t need to be, and I found myself enjoying the strategy of separating them vs. keeping them together during my hard mode play through.
I think you are right! the problem for me is that Rebecca seems useless playing on hard, Im playing re0 for the first time and literally any single enemy except the regular zombie or some bosses one shot Rebecca, this can be easily solved by only playing with Billy and I dont like that at all, I feel that basing on the stars training maybe it would be okay if the was so fragile but at least give her more damage, so its like a glass canon. Its my biggest complaint of this beautiful masterpiece of a game but I just feel rebecca's only use is to convine herbs.
@@Fabian6980 I don’t think Village “sucks” at all but that’s not really the question. The video is about the hardest RE games and Village of Shadows difficulty (with no bonus items/perks) is almost as hard as RE 3 Remake Inferno
@@Fabian6980RE7 so awful game for me only horror in first chapters and then boring in same places usually ,and with 1st boss more difficult than final 😂, and only puzzles with evil Son was pretty good with the traps like Saw series 😜, all the other scenery so Boring and tiring and as for the character so dumb as fuck ,so chicken not badass like Leon or Chris or Even jake with martial arts and military experience - training with guns!! RE7 so far from the real RE series with no adverture or killing many zombies , otherwise killing only black weird things, zombie flies😂😂and zombie family , it gives only horror and facing only the evil family and some black weird creepy monsters in the begining !! All the other have nothing with the classic RE series and badass characters and their awesome Voice of Leon and Gill's 😜
@@PoolD3ad007 The main character in RE7 is not suppose to be a super hero, it’s a simple guy trying to rescue the love of his life. R7 / Biohazard is an awesome game, one of the best in the entire franchise.
Code Veronica plane Tyrant: x2 green grenade launcher rounds + x10 explosive bolts = bon voyage. But because the game doesn't tell you that the green GL rounds reduce enemy HP by a certain percentage and stacks, that boss is an absolute slag.
I find Zero on hardest mode the hardest. Can't really agree with RE3Remake that high. Excluding the bossfight on inferno, it's still a walk in the park to me. But anyway: Cool video again!
The outbreak games are the ones I wish theyd remake. I was lucky enough to play them on PS2 online when they first came out. Was alot of fun than, could just be that much better with tech now a days.
Sometime ago, there was a leak of a list of games capcom was working on, Outbreak remake was on it, and seeing that one of those games is already out (Resident Evil 4 Remake) and another one was conffirmed (Dragons Dogma 2), there is a high chance Outbreak remake is true
I agree with most of these except I would replace RE3 Remake with RE Village, Village of Shadows difficulty is easily one of the hardest modes to play in any RE game, I definitely had a way harder time with it than RE3 Remake Inferno mode.
CV is absolutely the hardest RE. For whatever reason, CV was my first RE game and I remember having to restart the game several times before even getting to the part where you play as Chris. Finally, as Chris, I got to that worm boss and did not have enough ammo to beat it. The game broke me as a teen and it wouldn't be until years later in my early 30s that's I finally beat CV. Meanwhile, I've beat every other RE game, some multiple times, and have never had to restart the game due to limited resources to progress.
The AI on Outbreak Files would also drop items you gave them in random places, forcing you to search for them. I remember playing the burning hotel level and my bot companion dropped a key I needed. Like, I needed it to get us out of the building. The one that was on fire. While the virus meter was steadily climbing. Fun times. I miss that game...
Lol another point as to why people are wrong when they say Sheva is the worst AI in the series. Play outbreak and you’ll get much more appreciation for her lol
I will never give a rocket launcher to an ai again >~< They were holding a handgun and an assault rifle, as we were heading up the stairs to fight Nyx, and they legit, unequipped their gun, equipped the rocket launcher, ran back down the stairs, and blew away one zombie with my rocket launcher!!! TwT
Code Veronica and Re0 were the hardest re games I’ve ever played. There’s a reason why I only played those games one time and never touched them once I completed them.
Wait, how Resident evil Village with the Village of Shadows difficulty is not on this list? A NG with Village of Shadows is insanely annoying to complete to a point you need to replay the game so many times to be able to finish it.
I've 100% both RE2 and RE3 remakes respectively. For me hands down the most challenging trophy/achievement in either of the games is "Hell of a Sheriff" in RE2 remake. It involves completing the "No Way Out" additional scenario. I beat it in the end, but it was the first time in either game I had to "get good". I have complete all the modern RE titles (RE2R, RE3R, RE7, RE8, RE4R). The two most challenging trophies/achievements I experienced was completing No Way Out in RE2remake; and S ranking every level of the shooting range in RE4R.
Code Veronica was my first resident evil, that tyrant mention at the end hit me hard, I had to beat him with no weapon since I didn't have enough ammo so using it would be a waste, I had to learn to perfectly dodge his rush attack and run in a circle until the cargo was ready and continuously do that about 5 times, I was too determined to restart so I found that tactic on RU-vid
I actually beat RE7 on Madhouse just a little while ago and yeah it's safe to say it was not easy to do. Even with using the bonus weapons such as the Circular Saw. If it wasn't for those I wouldn't even have come past the basement. I surprisingly beat most bosses on my first try without taking any significant amount of damage. I'm glad I finally got the infinite ammo from completing it though. That makes all the trouble worth it.
I just beat Resident Evil 5 in Professional Mod yesterday. I'm not very fond of high difficulties in videogames, but RE5 Is my favorite one in The series, so I decided to give It a try. Gotta say that everything went pretty smoothly throughout The whole game, But when I got to The Wesker - Jill part... My God, that battle almost made my head in. It was utterly impossible due, mainly, to the dreadful AI The developers put into Sheva lol I died 50 TIMES to that goddamn battle. Could say that Is The most difficult thing I've dealt with in The entire RE series. I beat Resident Evil 4 Remake in Professional with S+, I once even defeated The bloody Tyrant on that plane in RE Code Veronica by only using arrows and the knife (since I didn't have anything else by that time)... But none of those extremely difficult experiences were as frustrating as watching Sheva getting annihilated by Wesker or Jill over and Over again LOL great video. Keep It Up!😊
I agree with you for RE5 in last boss ,but RE6 took me many time ( a year and some months cause i rage quit during battles with annoying Mutated B.O.W slime that made me to close this game ,cause RE6 's bosses so toxic and difficult in hard difficulty 😜🤣🤣
Just want to mention in Outbreak File 2; Wild Things and Underbelly VH have lots of locked doors with no key. So unless you're playing as Alyssa, you have no choice but to ram them open, which is a very infuriating task to do offline, especially considering the enemies around the area. Another challenge in RE Zero is there are lots of items that use up two item slots. The bosses are easy except for the bat.
Code Veronica X. The best game ever. I first played it when I was 11, now I m 33 and still in love with this game. Too bad there isnt a remake. So underestimated ...
One thing I'll say about the AI in 5 is we of course have to deal with it all game as Sheva's but as you say its the same AWFUL AI for Chris. Id even argue worse just cuz of the times playing as Sheva AI Chris has to be given some great gear OR you have to speed through the sections the game has you two split up cuz Chris is straight up suicidal on those moments. "No Chris its not very tactical to hold up in the 2nd floor while I leap over to the building, deal with a horde of Majini AND break the lock AND open the door for ya but good thing you're pretty Redfield"
Where is Resident Evil Remake in Professional mode? It was a very hard difficulty with literally invisible enemies? It had even a special thanks letter from the creator at the end for that, because appareantly very view would be able to beat it.
Heck of a list, I would have put the Outbreak games at 2 but yeah Code Veronica is the hardest of all the Resident Evil games in my book. Keep up the great work.
100% agree. theres a reason code veronica is one of the top 5 if not at least top 10 re games fans have been begging for a remake of. if they added an item box to zero it wouldnt be that bad. the biggest issue for code veronica is the road blocks. the boss fight on the plane, the crystal ball puzzle, and alexia ashfords final boss fight.
@@Pokesatsu96 Yes of course. I am saying that if you add the item box to RE0 there will be no planning of where you leave your items thereby causing it to become boring. Then RE0 will go from "Peak" to "mid" tier. Also depending on how it's implemented it might even cause more backtracking because all item boxes will be in a set location whereas in the current drop system you can put more important items closer. Basically magic item box makes a game less realistic and more mid. I hope that clarifies it.
@@sugoi9680 less realism dosent always mean less enjoyable but i do see your point. and tbf re0 was made when they didnt care about realism like they do in the remake universe.
@@Pokesatsu96 The focus is on (slightly) more character realism not hardcore difficulty realism. Although that's still there in re3r (the one saving grace of that game) and Village, maybe even 7 with Madhouse. RE1r is best on Real Survival but Re0 is just a step up. It's too bad people suck too much to appreciate quality and nitpick about minor things like Rebecca apparently being weaker in the mansion.
I beat RE3R's Inferno on S Rank last week (Seeing the 'Jill Valentine' throphy pop up was satisfying af) and it FOR REAL was excrutiating. I ended up re-starting like three times and died 2 times against Final Nemesis in my definitive run. Thank god it's a short game because god are the enemies vicious.
Code Veronica was the hardest, no question. To get the S rank and earn the rocket launcher you had to not save (except a free save halfway through), no health sprays, no continues, and you had to finish in under 4.5 hours, and pausing counted against this time. When I finally did this and started my next game, I fired the rocket launcher at a zombie dog and it flew right over it. Haven't played since 😉
Outbreak on Very Hard will give you a incredible challenge too. I threw away my copy of it after dying for weeks on the fourth level. RE2 Revelations has an invisible enemy mode, that I never bothered trying. Playing an action game like 4 or 5 without being able to see the enemies doesn't sound fun O~0
Man this video is brilliant! All Res with he highest difficulty! I also believe Zero and Veronica are amazing games but damn theyre hard... I remember i almost f*#$ my save on Zero with the last boss lol but i like my Resident Evil games hard AF i mean youre surviving and its not meant to be easy
Resident evil village on village of shadows difficulty NG is the hardest in the entire franchise. Code veronica is by far one of the easiest. I am flabbergasted by this list. You can knockout the tyrant by simply dodging his attack on the plane near the opening and run past him and use the switch to dispatch the crate to blow him up.
RE2 OG one has a hard difficulty which doesn't unlock unless you beat the game at least once. Even tho the game ain't hard at all, the hard mode in it makes it very difficult because if you didn't know, zombies take two grenade launcher shots to die and you get 4 grenade rounds instead of 6 as Claire (similar for Leon with shotgun ammo) and the boss fights are tougher.
I played “Resident Evil 2” remake, “Resident Evil 3” remake, “Resident Evil 4” remake, and “Resident Evil: Village”. The boss fights in “Resident Evil 2, 3, and 4” remakes were a pain in the ass.
OG RE3 was so hard i had to come back almost 20yrs l8r to beat it 😅 As a kid i felt accomplished beating 1&2 w/ gr8 effort, and Nemesis had made it so i couldn't go far w/o him POPPING UP EVERYWHERE! 😤😤 I literally would panic and could not get far in the game.. i don't think i even made it to the gas station. I bought the game in the PS3 store, but since i had YT now, i could look up the strategies and know when to expect Nemmy😏 It's one of my favorite of the series now, and i fkn love using the unlockable OP weapons to str8 up PUNK his ass 💪🏾💪🏾 Also, i strained hard to beat RE:CV and beat it as a kid, but i fkn h8d that the final shot to the boss wasn't based on SKILL 🙄 I've seen the speedrun strats now, but they just know the AI's wonky pattern. As a kid, i was tryna SKILLFULLY AIM&SHOOT like a dumbass 🤣
As far as first playthroughs are concerned, I probably died the most playing RE6. Not necessarily a hard game, but poorly designed and quite punishing if you make simple little mistakes like missing QTEs. The last time I played RECVX I had to restart after I made it to the final boss with pretty much no ammo. I left the fire extinguisher in the security box(?) back on the island so couldn't get the magnum in Antarctica. Incredibly frustrating.
RE6 was pain in the ass for me that i have finished all Re4 , 5 , 2 remake ,3 remake , 7 and village but 6 it broke my nerves that made rage quit and took me so long to finish it , damn that game it was nightmare and so ' long' game that i dont want to play with it again 😂😂
The fun thing with RE4 qte at least was that it didnt care if you pressed the wrong buttons as long as you pressed the right ones in time, so it became mash every button on the controller.
I'm surprised Real Survivor Mode on the RE1 Remaster didn't make the list. Item chests not being linked makes backtracking through Crimson Head territory extremely challenging.
I played RE:CV as a kid many times and besides Nosferatu and Tyrant's gimmicky stages, I had a wonderful time. RE 3 Nemesis is the true difficult OG RE for me. Never could go beyond that train repair, never actually fought Nemesis either.
7 is the hardest to me. I'm talking playing on hardest setting on a 3rd playthrough cause I always do multiple runs. 7 madhouse is ridiculous especially the Jack fight with the bags. Dude diabolical
Resident evil 0 was my first resident evil game ever, and I remember playing on hard mode for first time, and I had such an awful time. I didn’t play it for over a year before actually finishing it
RE4 Remake should be on here. The enemies don't get staggered as easily in the OG. They retain the bullet sponginess of the previous titles but are WAY faster and at times, more unpredictable.
18:45 fun thing is that the devs know how annoying the coms officer would be and prof is is in the extra mode with him being used high level enemy that mainly appears on latter stages
I 100% agree with your list. I think it’s the lack of QOL stuff you stated that keeps those games difficult. If Zero had an item box, different camera or arena on the tyrant in CV etc those games wouldn’t be as tough
30:03 Did you know you can beat the tyrant on the cargo plane practically without using any ammo? Just keep using the ramp that would send him off the plane when he is weak enough. The thing is even while he has much off his HP, he gets some damage every time. So after a view rounds of this and he can be beaten without using ammo^^
Going for the platinum for RE3R was so satisfying, by inferno I was speedrunning the game, I knew when and where to do things, but nemesis was impossible to beat without the rocket launcher
Avalanch reviews explains why it's harder to aim on the umbrella chronicals compared to the darkside. Turns out on darkside the cursor aims with your movements, where as on umbrella the cursor is slightly delayed in moving and then overshoots/flies past where you actually stop to aim/shoot. Basically, darkside is down to your own ability, but umbrellas cursor having the delay and moving too far when moving makes it more luck than judgement
I had no problem with any of the remakes, except 1. Outbreak games were extremely hard for me. I have never gotten passed like 2 or three scenarios on each
Tip for the plane Tyrant for newcomers: in the Island you'll find 30 explosive darts. Save them for bosses. The bow gun is the fastest gun in the game (non-SMG), and the dps with the explosive darts is absolutely insane. Take those darts and, AS SOON as you can move, start mashing the shooting button. It will take 23 or 24 darts. You can fire all of them before the tyrant even appears on the screen. After that, just turn to the side and interact with the mechanism to throw the box. Ez. You'll probably have 6 or so explosive darts after that. And with Chris, you'll find 20 more. Save them for Alexia phase 2. She dies with just 17 of those, it is insanely fast. You can even no damage her with that.
I would honestly say Re8 village of shadows difficulty on new base game without any infinite ammo or anything is pretty up there lol! Out of the games on your list Id say I find Re0 the hardest of the games you chose. And that's down to the no item box, The Hookshot, Those stupid monkeys and that flying bat boss, and of course that annoying ass leech man that keeps showing up lol. But then again Re3 Remake Final Nemesis on inferno is straight cheese with that bullshit stun lock one hit kill lmao! But Personally I find Code veronica pretty easy especially now a days, but I will admit when I was a little kid way back in the year 2000 and played it for the first couple times I had a prima strategy guide, so it kinda helped me out and i've known how to play Cv properly ever since. This was a great video man keep it up!
Good luck with Outbreak. One of the hardest RE. Few items (go with Cindy, at least you have a pocket for the herbs), in normal you die easily, enemies can stun lock you, is not so linear.
Great video man! If you haven't already maybe some silent hill videos would fit October perfectly Maybe something Dead Space related as well if you like that game
I’m trying to finish silent hill series replay so it’s fresh on my mind. Think I should be able to get one video out there before October ends at least on the first 3 games. As for dead space, that’s a good idea!
It's my first time playing Code Veronica this year on my PS2 emulator and i have to say, you were absolutely right. Playing it for the first time, especially the bosses, you really won't expect that you would get killed instantly.
I remember revelations had online co op on 3ds, it makes sense it’s harder on consoles since I believe they removed it. Re3 remake inferno mode is one of those modes that’s hard dodge based. You have to MASTER the dodge but once you do it’s easy, I remember my first run and last nemesis took me about 3 hours of re trying but once I beat him the next run ended at an hour and 5 min.
I'm surprised you didn't include Re 8's Village of Shadows. I was only able to beat that mode with infinite weapon, and even so it had some very difficult moments like Chris's section and Miranda's fight
@@liszt646 I do agree. The two phases of Heisenberg was awful simply b cisse you weren't allowed to use the special weapons you had during the first phase and were force to use the tanks weapons. Ugh.
I played Resident Evil Village on Village of Shadows and I think only the beginning part that is SUPER hard. I don't like Bela and Moreau boss because one is a super cramped place with 2 supports and the other you NEED to stack on explosives and ammos to defeat him. Heisenberg isn't that bad once you realise that the tank canon gives space between you and him and also uses the surrounding metal to protect yourself from his attacks.
Resident Evil 5 is one of the easiest Resident Evil games. You can collect Extremely much Ammo & money with Restarting certain chapters and then go into menu and collect them again until you don´t need it anymore. The Swamp Chapter there you can collect many treasures and Rocketlaunchers wich you can use for some bosses like: First+Second Uroboros, Popokarimu, U-8 and the smaller bosses (like 2 Gatling-Gunners, or 2 Reapers) I already testet it in the main game, give your AI Partner strong Weapons (Dessert Eagle, Sniper) (with unlimited Ammo) and except for Jill and Wesker + (The car chapter) most enemies get taken down by your AI Partner, wich means the Game can almost finish itself without the player killing most enemies. The only enemies that you as the player have to kill /fight back, (because AI Partner can´t get it done alone) are: (Ndesu, Bike-Riders, Reapers, Lickers, Irving, Excella-Uroboros, Jill, Wesker)
Being a RE order specialist , I did 2 (incomplete) , Nemesis , Zero , Veronica , REmake , 2 (finished) , 4 , Revisitations , 5 Gold Edition , Revisitations 2. Yep , Zero and Veronica together arrrrg. And I remember as clear as day that terrible moment when you can't access items in the safe between characters. Such a stab in the heart ❤
I agree with Zero and CV being the hardest. Problem here is, they are not just hard, but also unfair in a lot of moments. Both had the (possibly) worst boss fights in the series, and regular enemies as well. In zero, you had the leech person and the eliminators (AKA the fucking monkeys). Those made me think someone at capcom was pissed for something and decided to put those fuckers in the game
Code Veronica is the one that I couldn't stand its difficulty. It tries way too hard to be difficult in every single level and it has so many roadblocks to make you an idiot for not saving on multiple save files. The one part that I will never forgive is Claire's last playable section. If you die at Hulk Steve part, you are forced to do the puzzles again to go back to where you were. Also, for most new players like myself, I had Claire possess all the important weapons and couldn't get them back as Chris, thus getting stuck at the final boss. Whoever was behind this design decision has no respect for the newcomers.
@@bepohal It is pretty clear what I just said. The original trilogy had no roadblocks, there aren't any points in these games where they don't let you progress because you didn't manage your inventory enough.
Hey man I'm just throwing this out there ..I didn't see it on your list..but I'd like to see your opinion on every resident evil game from easiest to hardest..love your videos my friend
RE5 deserved to be much higher for two encounters- the El Gigante jeep battle and the Wesker/Jill section. Mandatory turret sections suck, especially when it means you are not able to heal.
As a Resi fan, I've played Resident Evil games since I was 10 (26 today) and I specifically purchased a Sega Dreamcast just to play the supposed hardest Resident evil game. I played it casually, no walk-through, just a blind play as I started the game. But honestly I don't see it. It was difficult but not the hardest for me. Honestly the games aren't challenging really, and the Bandersnatch was easy to deal with when I equipped my dual Uzi's or shotgun. I don't know, a part of me was disappointed because many players mentioned that they would be constantly low on ammo, and I mostly used the knife twice in the start to conserve my handgun ammo. This was after meeting Steve but before encountering the worm boss as Claire. So I didn't use the knife much for those who are following me here. It was a fun game, probably would be in my top five if it offered more repayability. You don't unlock much aside from Battle Mode and first person mode and that bites. This game has always been my top pick for Capcom to remake, it deserves more exposure and I would fall in love with it more if they added a randomizer mode to it for added difficulty!
i cant think in code veronica so hard. even more that boss fight with the tyrant. The game give you the B.O.W ammo before the fight, that takes half HP of any boss, and if you have spare an ammo of bowgun explosive, the most overpower weapon, you can quickly beat him, if he do not die at the first box, will become extremely slow, making it easier to avoid until can launch again the box.
Code:Veronica is without a doubt the hardest. It's not even close in my book. Between the tyrant on the plane, the last boss and the switch from Claire to Chris in the second half which can easily leave you without ammo or healing items, this is the only RE game that made me re-start because I was out of options.
Personally I'd have RE4 Remake over RE3R. In RE3R you can just cheese every single attack with dodge, making it pretty easy. However, in RE4R, yes you have parry, but not even that can save you- e.g. enemy grabs, which are INSANELY OP btw Also, if we make the difficulties proportional and compare, RE4R is harder in ever sense
