Actually just watched Tucker & Dale a couple days ago, such a funny movie, always love to revisit it. Also glad to see Bubba Hotep make your list, I’ve got a few buddies who we are always quoting it back & forth as well. One of my favorite things about it, is trying to explain the absurd premise of the movie to someone who has never heard of it, then observing their reaction. Which by the way you did an outstanding job of in this video😆

@@AVAPopCulture Chase, I heard you mention the show The Walton's when you were talking about the actor from IT. Did you know that the mom from The Walton's played Jeffrey Dahmer's grandma in the Netflix Dahmer series? I picked it up immediately when I heard the grandma talking and I thought "hmm, I recognize that voice?" I couldn't believe it was her. She looks amazing for being in her 80s. The scenes between Dahmer and his grandma were my favorite.

One of my absolute favourite horror comedies is getting a limited cinema release at my local cinema this Friday.. Tickets booked for Evil Dead 2.. Seeing that on the big screen.. Can not wait :) .. groovy

I really love "The Comedy of Terrors" and "The Fearless Vampire Killers". The latter has fantastic atmosphere and a great vampire Count in Ferdy Mayne!

@@AVAPopCulture I see your point on the spoofiness of it. Although the ideas aren't directly spoofs of other things, everything Broken Lizard does is kind of spoofy. I can agree with that.

You have to be kidding referring to Noises Off, we had that on VHS, and I watched it several times. It's amazing when you realize the cast they had for that film. The first films that popped in my head were Tucker and Dale and Cabin In the Woods. I have Cabin, but I'm going to have to get the other one now. I never picked it up, but I honestly liked Bubba-Ho-Tep since the first time I watched that with my brother. That was when I was still in the Army. I just recently watched Buffy just after Sutherland's passing, I thought of that, too. A lot of films I have are a constant reminder of who all is gone now.

I have watched (since the 3rd) 4. Dead Heat 5. Michael Jacksons ”Ghosts” and An American Werewolf In London 6. Funhouse 7. The Brood 8. (Today) Forbidden World. Yep. That one 😎 I love horror comedy and other mixed genres. Will watch Tucker and Dale asap! Cheers!

Definitely not my fave genre for reasons you stated at the start of the vid but....! Creepshow and Return of the Living dead has to be on that list man!! 🤣 Also Vampire in Brooklyn is so underrated, very dark and funny! I highly recommend Freaky from 2020, Elvira Mistress of the Dark and a real obscure horror comedy (heavy on the comedy) called Wacko from 1982.

Mel Brook's Dracula: Dead and Loving it should also be mentioned Bubba Hotep is great. Ossie Davis in particular was an odd choice considering his film resume. And I agree with Tucker and Dale. It is just hilarious. two good nature guys who are sterotyped by a group of college kids. lots of misunderstandings lead to really silly situations. Killer Klowns is also decent. though I probably wouldn't rank it at number one, though.

Speaking of Joe Dante, this is a film that you either enjoy or hate. The late great Anton Yelchin in Burying the Ex.. I recently upgraded to the blu ray ( that looks awesome ). As much as I love Anton , it's Ashley Greene that elevates this film for me as the zombie ex girlfriend..

Return of the Living Dead is absolutely a horror comedy but you get a bye because it (rightfully so) has made most of your other lists. Creepshow, you could argue some if the vignettes are and some aren't... totally ok to leave off.

Nostalgia goggles considered, if Killer Klowns made the list, it should be at the bottom. It has strong points in terms of cinematography, but there's no substance. I didn't feel involved. Clown scenes were a tad random - I didn't feel like I was following their movement, it was more like an assortment of scenes: clown A does this, then in a completely different location clown A does that, with no context how he got there. It irks me. It's not like we're watching xenomorphs, who hunt form the shadows and where "surprise" factor is in play. Then I felt like the plot was lacking. In this regard, it reminds me of Ghosts of Mars (2001), which would be amazing, if more work was put into the story :( Personally, I'd rather put one of Scary Movies

1. Ghostbusters 2. Gremlins 2 (Gremlins is more of a Chrismas horror Comedy, they are both great, but Gremlins 2 is more suitable for Halloween in my opinion. I am an older horror fan, so my idea of horror comedy goes to Student Bodies and Psychos in Love. If you wanted to stretch into Gremlin style horror where little horror is but in mischievous concept then I'd add Jekyll and Hyde Together Again
