I’m in the FIT Interior Design program. I absolutely love it & they have a summer class for high school students wanting to apply to the ID program to help build a strong portfolio!
However, if you’re a transfer student from a college, the summer session does not apply to you which can suck if you weren’t an art major in another college.
No matter how many Pinterest and RU-vid videos I view, I've never been good at designing 's better to trust the is my go-to for interior design and I am very happy with their work.
Wow! You did a great job on compiling this list. At some point you should do a video on the difference between interior design vs interior decorating. So many people refer to themselves as interior designers when they are really decorators. HUGE difference. In many states it is illegal to call yourself a designer without the proper education and accreditation. I am still confused between a “real” designer vs architect. GarretLaChic (another cool you tuber) is also a “real” designer like you. I made the same suggestion to him about doing a video explaining the difference. Maybe you two can do one together.
Thank you so much! You did answer my question about accredited schools. My follow up is what are your thoughts on online programs or part time programs? I'm trying to find a balance with maintaining my job so I'm not in crazy debt (again) to go back to school.
I just recently started watching your videos and they are amazing and really helpful... but can you please make a video giving tips about how to make portfolio as I’m soon going to be a final year student of interior designing and really finding it hard to make portfolio really need some guidance.
Hey can you please share you email Id ? I would like to connect to you , I am from India , I wish to pursue interior design from states. Hoping to hear you soon 😊
Thing is, Cornell offers interior design as an specialisation in the juman centered design major, so it combines design, art, biology quemistry and all of that. And you then get the chance to specialise in interior design I think. Should I enter that or go to a university that offers the interior design major just like that?
Very educative video ❤❤❤ I would like to know where I can go to. I don’t have any background of interior design I graduated as an accountant plus I’m an international student. Your response would be appreciated 😊
I had to Submit a portfolio to get into New York School of Interior Design? But that was 20 years ago. And NYC is better to get a design degree than RI? Its the design capital of the world.
I do not know what to do. Right now I am enrolled in high school interior art, but my country only has private colleges. I am trying to get a scholarship to go to foreign schools but it seems impossible to me.
Hi, your videos are awesome and super helpful! I have a question. Can I attend a regular community college and obtain a general associate of arts degree and apply that toward a bachelor in the long run? Or must I attend an interior design program from the start? Thank you for your informative content btw! I love your videos xx
Anyone in the comments know why Parsons would be a good choice although it’s not accredited Im accepted but don’t know if I should just stick to NYSID or FIT or SVA
NYSID has a masters program that you check out on their site. I've considered doing a video like that but I'm hesitant because I don't have a masters in ID and don't intend to pursue one.
Thank you for the information. I’m currently enrolled in the New York institute of art and design is this a good school to attend ? . I’m doing it online
I haven't attended myself but I know others who have and they liked it. I did have one person tell me they wish the course work had more examples though.
Hello! I had a question, Could I still obtain jobs if the community college that offers the "Interior Design" degree in my state is not accredited by CIDA?
Hi I just finished my high school in morocco and I’m so interested to apply for one of those university’s so can you please tell me how can I do that ??
Do they have online interior design majors? Im military and my fiancée wants to major in this and would love to take traditional classes, unfortunately due to my location and the tendency to move around a lot we have to compromise and try and search for online major for her.
Try the New York School of Interior Design. They have an online certificate. I also have a free download of the top 10 schools for design in the US you can see if they have online programs.
hello, what subjects would be good too take for a levels that would help with interior designing? one of the subjects i want to pick is 3D design and i'm wondering if psychology and geography would be good subjects to pick along 3D design because those subjects are the ones i enjoy.
