Sturges knew how to tell a good story and most of all entertain. I think there should be an honourable mention for Ice Station Zebra

Truly great entertainer director.His movies are worth to watch even today.The best of the lot was Magnificent Seven nd Gunfight at OK Coral.

Ice Station Zebra and Marooned are just two of his classics! He was incredible and he knew how to make some epic films!

I can't decide who's the best "man's man" movie director, Sturges or John Milius. Their films just celebrate the male testosterone unashamedly. Great casts, great action.

I thought that the Hour of the Gun & The Hallelujah Trail were far superior to Joe Kidd . For me , Joe Kidd is a mediocre western & my least favourite Clint Eastwood western . The only Clint Eastwood western I haven't seen is Paint Your Wagon .
